Bastion Penitentiary isn’t built for redemption. It exists for erasure. Buried deep in Death Valley, it swallows the unforgivable and spits out bones. The women who run it don’t believe in second chances.
Warden Sylva rules through pain, and Dr. Hart dissects guilt like flesh. Together, they run Bastion like a godless altar where pain is prayer and mercy doesn’t exist.
Lorenzo Vale is supposed to be just another monster locked away. But when the punishment starts, he doesn’t beg or scream. He doesn’t give them anything. He takes every beating and endures every cut, fighting through everything they weaponize against him.
His silence isn’t fear, it’s loyalty… and loyalty makes him dangerous.
Oh my god! This book was incredible. This book is a full-fledged romance set in prison. This book is dark; Warden Sylvia makes the inmates pay for their crimes in a depraved way. The chemistry she has with Dr. Mara was hot, but when Lorenzo Vale arrives, it's insane. I liked how Sylvia overcame her trauma. Please read the Trigger Warning, it contains graphic scenes
What in the world have I just read!!! I’m not even sure how to review this one. So here goes… set in a prison without the normal rules you get a story that is unpredictable, fast paced and full of triggers. A dark read full of torture some of which I’ve not read of before. This is my first read by this author and it certainly won’t be my last if her other books are like this!!!
I absolutely ate this book up! This is pitch black, FFM and set in a brutal prison. We have our warden, Sylva, our doctor, Dr. Mara Hart, and our inmate, Lorenzo. Prisoners get sent here who manage to escape more traditional servings of justice and Sylva and Mara do NOT go easy on their inmates. Lorenzo is the only one they haven’t been able to break.
While Mara and Sylva are very much together, the growing attraction to Lorenzo gets harder and harder to deny.
This was a wild ride and I loved every moment of it.
"The kind of shit those women are capable of would make the devil flinch." — Lorenzo Vale. 💚 Two mommies 👩❤️💋👩 and their toy 💅 💚 Warden x Doctor x Prisoner 💚 Torture as foreplay 💚 TRAUMA 💚 He crawls to them 💚 Will it fit ... Or will it? 😏 💚 Affirmation kink Sometimes, when a good book pops up on your feed looking for ARC readers but you’ve already packed your schedule and only have two, instead of four eyeballs who love sleep too much, it’s really important to listen to the devil voice in your head ... Because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE’S TWO MOMMIES?? 😱 First of all, Willow Katz, I hate you for constantly popping up and tempting me with this book that I finally gave up! 😡 Your book baby, Barred, had no business being this yummy 😭 I fell in love since chapter two where Sylva, aka the warden with trauma and creative sport/torture plans said, "The ones who laugh while she begs and keeps going when she bleeds." See that, folks? It only says "she". Not he. Not them. It’s a she. Ughhh, I love a woman who will protect other women and openly hate men 🤤 The first three chapters of Barred are W.I.L.D. Look, I usually snort when someone gives a warning like “Check the triggers" because how dark can a book really be to terrify readers??? 🤨 But in this case, I’ll slap the warning myself because yes, YOU DO HAVE TO READ THE TRIGGERS. This book is dark. Like, really really dark you’ll probably need a candle and your therapist 👌 It’s about a prison called ✨ Bastion ✨, a place where mehn who commit the most bizarre crimes and feel no remorse or think they can get away with it end up. As Mara, the doctor quotes, "The only way out of here is in a body bag." They literally have giant, sewer-sized drains for blood! The story follows the hot headed, dirty mouthed Lorenzo Vale, the newest inmate, as he enters Bastion straight into the clutches of Warden Sylva Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart. You’ll see how they break him, tame him, use him, how he goes from "I won’t break, they won’t get anything from me 😤" bullshit to "I want to earn every ounce of pleasure they throw at me, to be their good boy 🥺" It’s delicious 😋 I usually don’t care about the guy in a sapphic book. The only wiener I want to see is made of rubber, but here, Lorenzo fits between them without making Sylva and Mara feel small. He isn’t a sub in the traditional way bcs Lorenzo voluntarily makes himself theirs to play with. This man bled because of them and for them! 😩 Get a man who will do both for you, ladies 😘 The writing in Barred is absolutely top notch. There’s a short quote at the beginning of every chapter, each one so pretty it made choosing hard! Willow doesn’t use flowery, poetic words. Her voice is raw, real, sharp, with blood dripping from the edges. You might think all the ARC reviews filled with five stars are just being generous, but believe me as someone who dnf’d THREE arcs (it's a long story, I swear 😗), this book is just that good. I certainly don’t sugarcoat books I don’t enjoy just because I feel sorry for the author (we're not even friends, this is Willow's first book for me). The smut starts in chapter three, where the women literally get off watching live torture porn. It’s fantastic. It’s hotter than your aunt’s soup. It’s a necessity for my thirsty sapphic soul 😩 Willow said I’d love this book for the gay part, and damn right she was 🙂 I love both FMCs with all their flaws which, honestly, there’s basically none 😔 Lorenzo says they’re every man’s dream, but I think he’s wrong, because girls would love to have them too (read: me. It’s me, ofc 😏). Sylva might look like the toughest of them all, but sometimes, when she’s vulnerable, Mara is there, telling her she’s safe, that she’s doing well. The women balance each other perfectly as Sylva said, "Sometimes I wonder which one of us is more fucked up. Every time I think it’s me, she invents a new way to prove otherwise." I call that romantic teamwork hehehe 😌 Another character, Kane, caught my attention. His description wasn’t even clear, he’s just a side charactwr, another dog Sylva has on a leash. But the way he behaves, his psychotic tendencies, how he runs his mouth it had me liking him??? It’s like he steals page time the way some characters steal screen time in movies, but here ... In a book, yk 😩. So yeah, what happened to him was just .... 🙂 Thankfully, Barred ends in a HEA. Thank you so much to the author for writing this kind of poly. I’m very aware that ff isn’t a popular trope in reverse harems or poly, so fewer authors write it *cries*. Barred REALLY made me happy. I can feel that their relationship works and is needed, and it comes naturally, something so hard to achieve in poly stories, where there’s usually someone left out. This isn’t even about fetish: I felt how they loved each other, especially in the epilogue. Gosh, that epilogue 🥺 This one’s for us bisexual girlies. Dear Willow Katz, I still hate you ... But if you write another sapphic book or anything with alpha FMC .... You know my email 😏
Barred by Willow Katz is a relentless, pitch-black experience that grabs hold of you from the very first page. I was completely sold from chapter one—it genuinely made me laugh with its dark humor, and right then I knew this was going to be an intense but incredibly addictive read.
This is not a story about rehabilitation or redemption. This is revenge, power, and control, wrapped in a brutal setting where no one walks away unchanged.
The Bastion is a prison built to break the worst of the worst—isolated, feared, and known for the belief that no one truly leaves. Under the iron control of Warden Sylva Reyes and the sharp, unpredictable Dr. Mara Hart, it becomes something far darker. Their seamless dynamic, driven by authority and feminine rage, makes them an absolutely formidable force.
And then there’s Lorenzo Vale—a hardened mafia enforcer convinced he can’t be broken. Watching the power slowly shift between him and the women was utterly captivating, with strong femdom undertones that made every interaction crackle. His confidence only makes his eventual unraveling all the more satisfying—and undeniably hot.
The writing is vivid and immersive, creating visuals that linger long after the page is turned. The punishments, the control, the tension, and the spice are all taken to the extreme, perfectly woven into the dark atmosphere of the book. The heat level is unapologetic and relentless, making this a story you simply can’t put down.
Final thoughts: Bold, intense, and unforgettable. If you enjoy pitch-black erotic fiction with powerful female characters, extreme power imbalance, and boundary-pushing dynamics, Barred is an absolutely gripping read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⚠️ Important note: Please read the trigger warnings. Barred is raw, unfiltered, and deeply dark—it will not be for everyone.
First off….Willow….are you okay?! I don’t know what goes on in that brain of yours but i love it 😂 This book is so dark and so intense that I questioned everything about myself when I finished. The Warden Sylvia, Doctor Mara and inmate Lorenzo might be my new fave MC’s. Huge fan of the cameos from Willows other work (but they don’t cause any confusion to people who haven’t read her Scars from Sin series) I tend to overuse the word unhinged in my reviews but never again. Nothing can be more unhinged than this pitch black story. My emotions were all over the place and I need more.
Wow! Barred was a wild ride. Bastion Penitentiary is not for the weak. Warden Sylvia Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart makes the inmates pay for their sins. They get justice when the legal system fails their victims. Lorenzo Vale is sent there but he's innocent and protecting his Don. Check the triggers, this was an intense ride but I loved every minute of it. The ending was perfect.
4.75⭐️ This book was absolutely amazing! This fast paced prison story was epically written and captivating. It was dark and full of törtùre. I ate this up! Highly recommend!!
Kindle Unlimited: Yes Stand-alone: Yes Author: Willow Katz Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️ Spiciness Rating: 4/5 🌶 POV: First Person Multi Perspective Main Couple: Lorenzo, Sylva, and Mara Trope(s): Dark Suspense Romance, FFM, Enemies To Lovers, Alpha FMC’s, Prisoner/Warden
‘Hell, maybe they need someone like me around. Someone to either play thing who doesn’t flinch and doesn’t pretend this place is anything but what it is- a fucking graveyard dress like redemption, or pleasure and punishment are the same damn thing, and everyone’s just fighting to feel something before it eats them alive.’
This is my first read by Willow Katz. Menage/Why Choose are not my normal go-to’s. But, there was something about the blurb that hooked me. Please be aware of the trigger warnings. Women handing out punishments. Taking care of scum in ways that suit their crimes. Dominant women who own their sexuality. This is not your typical romance story. It’s gritty, raw, in your face dark suspense, page turning gotta know what’s gonna happen. And, the ending is one you don’t quite see coming. I’m glad I took a chance and read a new to me author.
Lorenzo Vale is headed to Bastion. Sent there in hopes that he will turn over information. DA claims he was the ringleader in a trafficking scheme. Because who would willingly take the fall for someone else’s horrible deeds. Only he is willing to rot in this hell if it means protecting those he loves.
Warden Sylva Reyes was hardened by life early in her career. Seeing the justice fail led her down a different path. After years of putting in her time she now ran Bastion.
Dr. Mara Hart has also had a front row view of the justice system failing. She is more than happy to be Sylva’s right hand woman.
Together they are vetting out their own form of justice to the worst of the worst.
And, that includes the new prisoner Vale.
Until Mara uncovers that he is being set up to take the fall.
He is no rat and has people he needs to protect so he will take whatever punishment they hand out.
Then the lines begin to blur. He becomes a safe place in their dark, ununforgiving world.
Mara has been Sylvia’s anchor for so long.
Vale’s submission helps Sylva open up in ways she shut off long ago.
But, they both know Vale deserves more than the prison walls that surround them.
I just want to rant and rave to everyone about just how good this book is! Yes, it is definitely on the pitch black side, but it is so worth the read. The violence and torture are depicted in a way that I could visualize the scenes, but honestly, I wasn't actually bothered by them. If you are easily triggered, this is not the book for you, BUT it is the ultimate book of redemption. The author does not glorify assault, but instead, takes you to the darkest corners of what abusers and murderers deserve. The warden and the doctor do exactly to the inmates what they earned for their crimes, and the violence feels warranted, not overkill or for shock appeal. I love that the story is told from three viewpoints, because you can get in the heads of each of the main characters and gain a better understanding of their motives and what "turned" them into their own version of monsters. Following the storyline to see just how much understanding and trust was developed and earned among inmate, doctor, and warden was natural and honestly felt intimate. Despite the pitch black elements, this honestly felt like a story of redemption in a way, showing that someone does not have to live as a victim forever. It's so hard not to give spoilers away, but I highly recommend reading this if you are looking for something dark, yet enjoyable. A lot of pitch black novels rely on shock appeal and trying to be as violent as necessary, but the author avoided all negative qualities that are often seen. Instead, this featured a ton of gore and unbelievable scenes, but it fit the narrative and even the most unbelievable scenes had the potential for actually happening. Again, if you're easily triggered, this is not the book for you. But, if you're willing to step out of your comfort zone knowing this book is FOR the victims and not glorifying them, I highly recommend giving it at least a chance.
Barred was a dark, spicy, and wild read with a plot that grabs you and absolutely does not let you go ❤️ Between Warden Sylva and Dr. Hart, and adding Lorenzo into the mix, the spice is something else, even though some parts are really dark!
Warden Sylva and Dr. Hart together hits differently in all of the right (and super spicy) ways, sheesh.. 🥵 These women are so powerful and confident, and carry themselves as such, radiating a strong aura. They are a force to be reckoned with, especially when with one another, and I love once Lorenzo is thrown into their dynamic, shaking everything up! Seeing Dr. Hart’s pull to Lorenzo and watching her give in to those urges, and then when she starts bringing Warden Sylva into things, it was ahhh-mazing 😍 They will have you sweating and clutching your pearls for dear life! 🥵 The way they also care for one another and help each other work through things though brings a sweetness to this otherwise very dark story 🖤 Once everything reached a climax in the plot, I was flipping the pages like mad, needing to know what’s going to happen next! With such a heavy darkness throughout book, it was so heartwarming to see how their story played out, and I just loved their relationship from start to finish! ❤️
This was an intense and super gripping read with a plot that was very dark and interesting, but also had red hot spice and sweet and heartwarming moments 🖤 Lorenzo, Dr. Hart, and Warden Sylva all fit together so perfectly, and their dynamic had everything! I loved them, and Lorenzo helping Sylva not let the memories win was definitely a major highlight and was one of my favorite moments 🥹❤️
WARNING: THIS BOOK IS PITCH BLACK!!!! Did it fuel my addiction in the best way?! Yes….yes it did! However, the way I was NOT expecting the depravity, torture (although well deserved), and the jaw dropping moments I had while reading is an understatement haha! I mean…I would recommend NOT eating dinner while reading, just saying. The detail and imagery is PERFECTION. The relationship between the Wardon, Dr. Hart, and Vale is ELECTRIC, FILTHY, and DISTURBINGLY BEAUTIFUL.
Bastion Penetentry isn’t for the weak. This place is meant to house and torture the scum of the earth. The last place they come to before they meet their maker…in the most brutal way you can imagine (seriously though…). Wardon Sylva Reyes is the brains behind the operation. She is absolutely RUTHLESS. She demands control. Dr. Hart is the one working behind the scenes. Inflicting medical torture among the prisoned. The two of them together are a powerhouse and believe me when I tell you, you do NOT want to end up on their bad side.
Lorenzo Vale ends up as a prisoner in Bastion. You’ll get to know his back story as you read. No spoilers here! But the Warden and Dr. Hart break him down piece by piece…until something else simmers beneath the surface. The connection the three of them have sizzles. THE SPICE!!!!! You are NOT PREPARED.
The ending?!….t’s so raw and painfully beautiful. ALL THE TEARS! I didn’t think it was possible after reading all the filth…that I’d have legit tears in my eyes. Willow, this book was incredible!
Willow, I don’t even know where to begin with whatever storm is raging in your imagination — and honestly, I don’t need to. It’s all right there on the page. I used to think “check your triggers” was just background noise, but no… this time, you really need to CHECK THE TRIGGERS.
From page one, I was gone. Sylva and Mara are a force of nature — two women who eclipse more than a few Alpha men without even trying. And Lorenzo? An Alpha who finds himself submitting to two women in prison, driven by one single purpose: survive long enough to keep his mother and sister safe.
Willow writes polyamory with astonishing precision, weaving in a rarer FF dynamic with a level of finesse that’s genuinely impressive.
This book hits every trigger warning imaginable, and it’s absolutely worth the plunge. It’s not just dark — it’s pitch‑black, the kind of darkness that pulls you under and refuses to let go. And yet, somehow, it still delivers a hard‑won happy ending.
This isn’t a story about remorse, healing, or moral clarity. It’s a fierce, unflinching tale of revenge, reclaiming power, taking back control, and the essential right to one’s own autonomy.
If you can handle a book that refuses to soften anything for you, this one belongs on your TBR.
“Fuck, every man dreams about being the bad guy who gets to fuck the hot cop. I got to fuck Warden. And Hart? She’s every man’s dream of playing doctor and losing control.”
Holy moly, I was not prepared, but in the best possible way! I was hooked from the very beginning and I did not put this book down once, I was captivated. It’s dark, it’s feral, it’s intense, and it’s spicccccyyyy!!! I absolutely love a feminine rage revenge story and this was written so well.
Bastion Penitentiary is not for the weak and those who go there are not leaving. Warden Sylvia and Dr. Mara make the inmates pay for all of the horrible and disgusting charges and in the CRAZIEST ways possible. They are determined to get justice because the justice system has failed them and many women like them. But when an innocent man, Lorenzo Vale, is sent there all because he is protecting the Don, things start to heat up and get interesting.
Mara and Sylvia have a very close and spicy relationship. And their connection is so deep and pure you can feel it. But when you add in the delicious Lorenzo in the mix that is willing to submit to them, oooof let the spice heat up.
The writing in this book is done so well. It’s dark, it’s raw, and the Sylvia has a relatable history many woman can unfortunately relate to, but Willow is giving them justice. This book is a crazy and wild ride. We go from the craziest forms of torture to some of the smuttiest spice between all the MCs. And then the healing.. can I just saw that was done so beautifully.
Barred by Willow Katz is unapologetically pitch-black erotic fiction. This is a very dark, unhinged read—and I enjoyed it so much. The power imbalance between the characters was intense, consuming, and incredibly well done. The character dynamics are what truly made this book stand out. Sylvia is feisty, stubborn, and unbelievably strong. She carries herself with an aura of confidence that I absolutely loved—it made her presence on the page impossible to ignore. She doesn’t bend easily, and that strength adds so much depth to the story. Hart was another standout for me. Funny, hot, and surprisingly comforting, the way she talks Sylvia through her fears was genuinely sweet. Both fmc had very different personalities and it worked perfectly within the dark setting of the book. And then there’s Lorenzo—OMG. Watching his shift throughout the story was everything. In the beginning, he’s convinced they won’t break… and later? Let’s just say his energy completely changes, and it was hot. The femdom undertones were powerful and added a layer of spice that elevated the entire book. Speaking of spice—this book does not hold back. The heat level is out of this world, and the intensity never lets up. The power dynamics, control, and tension were executed in a way that kept me fully engaged from start to finish. Important note: Please read the trigger warnings. This is an extremely dark, unfiltered, and unhinged book that will not be for everyone. Final thoughts: Barred is bold, intense, and unforgettable. If you enjoy pitch-black erotic fiction with strong characters, extreme power imbalance, and boundary-pushing dynamics—and you’re prepared for heavy content—this is an incredibly interesting and gripping read. ⭐ I thoroughly enjoyed it. ⭐

Barred is a pitch black, dark, and twisted story that I am scared to admit, I enjoyed. Bastian Penitentiary isn't the type of prison for criminals to seek redemption and learn from their mistakes. It is a brutal, torturous place where the worst of the worst criminals are sent to be erased. Warden Sylvia and Dr. Mara try to break their prisoners, get whatever information they can out of them in the most gruesome and torturous ways, and then release their souls in the most shameful but well deserved manner. Until they come across Lorenzo. He is unbreakable and seems to almost enjoy the torture. But once they learn he's holding strong out of loyalty and who his loyalty lies with, it changes the entire game. This story is wild and dark. It had me cringing. But I couldn't stop. I love when bad people aren't shown mercy. Sylvia and Mara are two twisted, very intense, hot, women that love the torture they perform. They scare the heck out of me, but also, the kind of woman you should have in your back pocket. Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading this one, but this is one wild ride everyone should experience. Willow did a fantastic job with this one. I highly recommend!!
This book is incredibly dark, intense, and I absolutely loved it! It’s definitely my top read of 2026 so far. I adore Willows’ writing and can’t help but connect with her thoughts in her books. However, this one is her darkest and most disturbing work yet, leaving me craving more with each chapter. Everything about the writing, plot, and characters is absolutely fascinating, and I devoured this book.
It’s spicy, and the storyline scratches every itch imaginable. I usually don’t annotate my books, but I couldn’t resist highlighting so much in this one. From Warden Salvia and Dr. Hart in our MFC to Lorenzo in our MMC, every character is captivating. There are moments that make you question what you just read and how it’s possible. The prison is no playground for prisoners, and justice is served by our FMCs. Lorenzo, however, is determined not to let them and protect the truth. As the story unfolds, our characters begin to develop feelings for Lorenzo, blurring the lines between justice and attraction. Can Lorenzo hold out or will the sexual tension between the beautiful women and him break him enough to spill everything? Guess you will have to read and see!!!
I would highly recommend this book, but please be aware of your triggers.
Barred by Willow Katz is brutally dark, emotionally punishing, and impossible to look away from.
This story doesn’t flirt with darkness… it dives headfirst into it. The setting is oppressive, the punishment relentless, and the atmosphere is thick with rage, power, and moral rot. Every page feels heavy in the BEST way, forcing you to sit with discomfort (and the consequences of the system.
I loved how unapologetic this book is. There’s no softening the blows, no easy answers, and no performative redemption. The themes are INTENSE, the characters are layered and disturbing, and the silence woven through the story is just as loud as the violence. It’s the kind of book that leaves you unsettled long after you finish…. and I mean that as a compliment.
⚠️ Please, please check the trigger warnings before diving in. This is not a light read, and it isn’t meant to be. But if you’re a reader who appreciates fearless storytelling, dark psychological depth, stories that refuse to look away from hard truths, and AMAZING smut scenes, this one delivers.
Absolutely gripping, devastating, and unforgettable.
Barred is a pitch-black ffm romance that takes place in Bastion Penitentiary in Death Valley. It's run by two women who have been failed by the justice system. Warden Sylva Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart who deal out the punishments that fit the crime. They have also formed a relationship. They get sent the prisoners who do the most unspeakable crimes. Until Lorenzo Vale gets hauled into their prison. He takes their punishments all while protecting the ones he loves. That is until a relationship forms between the three of them. Until they find the real reason he is there. If you want to know more you will have to read it for yourself.
This book was absolutely amazing. It was twisted, dark, and I loved every second of it. Willow Katz has become my favorite mafia romance writer. This had me gasping, giggling at the banter, and the spicy scenes were hot, hot, hot! Willow does not hold back on the punishments either. I can’t wait for more from our favorite Warden, Doctor, and Inmate trio!!! I also love the cameos that got their roles in here. And that epilogue. If you know you know.
But please read the triggers!!! Your mental health matters!!!
This was so good from the start. So much was going on it was crazy and I enjoyed every single moment. There were no safe spaces here. The victims became the villains. These two ladies put the T in torture. I had to look some of them up!! The dynamics of a warden, a doctor and a prisoner that blurs the lines. I’m breathless after this. This writing took me on an insane prison ride! A dominating strong female presence along with the quiet strength of the male character. A disjointed love triangle that fits. Then the backstory that ties it altogether smoothly. Descriptive and detailed scenes that make you feel in the moment. The shocking twists that were there but didn’t see coming was done well. This one is dark, dark. Heavy on the triggers warnings.☢️ Mental health, feminine rage, physical and emotional trauma, explicit violence, gore, unhinged, vigilante justice, questionable ethics, mafia and this is just the tip of the iceberg. The erotic scenes are open door🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ A penitentiary experience that delivers. If you like your books dark and drenched in pitch black take the journey!
What in the world did I just read? I feel like I need to sit in silence for a while to recover, and I mean that as a compliment. This book threw me straight into a lawless prison and never once let me get comfortable. I’ve read some dark stuff before, but some of the torture scenes here genuinely shocked me, I actually had to pause and just stare at the wall for a minute. It’s my first book by this author, and now I’m both fascinated and a little scared to see what else she’s written. The dynamic between Warden Sylvia and Dr. Mara is tense and messy from the start, but then Lorenzo Vale shows up and everything gets even more unhinged. I found myself rooting for Sylvia, even when I wasn’t sure I should, and her moments of vulnerability hit a lot harder than I expected in a story this brutal. Definitely check the trigger warnings first there’s stuff in here that will stick with you, for better or worse. But if you’re up for something that’s equal parts disturbing and addictive, this book is one wild ride. I’m still thinking about it, and honestly, I might need a lighter read next just to recover.
Lorenzo Vale is sent to prison but not just your any run of the mill prison, this one is out in the desert, feared by all criminals ‘The Bastion’ is well known for ‘they go in but they don’t come out!’ The warden Sylva Reyes governs it with an iron fist, her methods will be a cause of concern for the inmates along with the on site doctor, Mara Hart they become a formidable team, co-ordinating their efforts smoothly to ensure they get justice and names from some of the worst offenders. Lorenzo however, is made of stronger stuff an enforcer for the mafioso he’s been through a lot of pain…Can they break him? Will he falter and give them a name?
I couldn’t put this one down, the punishments against the male criminals were exquisite 🤭 loved the dynamic of Sylva and Mara, to then introduce Lorenzo into it was just 🤌 The writing is descriptive with very effective visuals, the feminine rage certainly shines bright 🚩
I want to start with this is a deep dark wild book that is not nor will ever be for a sensitive reader your mental health matter! However, for someone as out there as I am goodness this was a treat in all the best ways. Ms. Willow Katz ma'am you are my cup of tea and with this book it checked all the boxes plus some. I'm going to be honest when I read the blurb, I was like holy F S**t this is going to be good like up all night till it is done, and it was. Warden Sylvia, Doctor Mara and Lorenzo were a match made for each other. The torture aspect was chef's kiss. Just when I thought she could not blow my mind anymore or throw another curb ball she did and that was absolutely the best. This dark erotica was the best one I have read so far and I'm in love with it. This is the first book I have ever read by Willow Katz and I'm hooked now. I love when the author puts there all in a book because you can feel it when reading and I felt like a little girl giggling and stomping and everything reading it.
Highly recommend this FFM Erotic Thriller. The hot smutty scenes and plot twists are jaw dropping.
Bastion is place predators and criminals pay for their sins. There is no redemption opportunity or mercy.
Behind bars, cruelty and violence are the weapons the warden Sylva Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart will work with in tandem to make sure that the punishment fits the crime. Applying unorthodox methods and their own rules, they carry out the sentences that a broken system failed to deliver. But is in this horrific place that they find themselves with an unexpected subject: Lorenzo Vale. He will rock Sylva and Mara’s bloody world to the ground making them question if it is really possible a man such as Vale could exist, with the dramatic turn of events being life changing.
This book is a raw look at what the real world of justice should look like.
On a personal note: I think a penitentiary such as Bastion should exist to serve justice to the surviving victims of horrific crimes. Systems all over the world are corrupted and fails to deliver the necessary punishment.
You chained the beast. Now kneel for what you created.
Just finished beta reading @willowkatz.writer Barred and it was by far the darkest feminine rage story I’ve ever read! There were moments I cringed and had to read through spread fingers, but the creativity for the punishments were absolutely diabolical!!! This story will stick with me for a VERY long time. It was so empowering for those of us that have been victimized by members of the male species. I truly appreciate @willowkatz.writer taking the chance on writing something that others may find controversial or simply hard to read at the hope of healing so many of us in the process. Just remember, this is pitch black…erotic horror, with a splash of dark romance. If you love, unhinged FMC’s, touch-her-and-d!e MMC’s, Why Choose, Feminine Rage, Revenge, Sexual Gore, Forced Proximity, Enemies-to-Lovers, and a read unlike any other…add this baby to your TBR to start your 2026 off with a bang.
Barred is a dark romance that isn’t afraid to go to uncomfortable places.🩸The story takes place in a prison system built around an “eye for an eye” form of justice. It leans heavily into morally pitch-black territory and explores justice, punishment, and control in a way that’s both twisted and compelling. 💉 Willow fully commits to this concept and to a darker writing style. Barred is a spin-off of her Scars From Sin series which is dark, but it’s not nearly as twisted. This book stands firmly on its own with a few rats 🐀. I also really liked the cameos from characters in the original series. I’m a huge fan of a certain man-bun wearing second… and I’ll be patiently waiting for his filthy spin-off Willow! 🫦 This book will not be for everyone. It contains very dark themes and potentially triggering content, so readers check the trigger warnings before picking it up. Going in unprepared could very well make you gag. 🍆👀😉
Bastion Penitentiary is not for the weak, and from the first chapter you know this story is going to be dark, gritty, and intense. Warden Sylvia Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart deliver their own brutal form of justice when the system fails and they are absolutely ruthless together.
Lorenzo Vale ends up in Bastion accused of crimes he didn’t commit, willingly taking the fall to protect those he loves. Watching him endure what Bastion dishes out was intense, especially knowing he’s innocent. As the story unfolds, lines blur, truths come out, and the connection between Sylvia, Mara, and Vale becomes unexpectedly powerful.
This isn’t a typical romance...this is pitch-black dark suspense with dominant women, moral gray areas, and an ending I did not see coming. Please check the trigger warnings, because this one goes hard. Definitely glad I took a chance on a new-to-me author.
LAWD Besties… "Barred" had me in a chokehold from page one. This book is smutty bliss wrapped in brutality, and I devoured it in one sitting without a single regret. Bastion Penitentiary is a nightmare institution, and Warden Sylva Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart are unapologetic alpha FMCs who rule with pain, precision, and 🚫 mercy.
Enter Lorenzo Vale: silent, defiant, and dangerously loyal. The Prisoner x Warden dynamic is feral, the enemies to lovers tension is razor sharp, and the poly FFM energy? Absolutely unhinged in the best way.
Now, let me be VERY clear: the torture scenes are gory, graphic, and extremely dark... this is NOT for the faint of heart. But if pitch-black smut, power plays, branding, and DubCon/CNC live in your TBR? RUN, don’t walk. This is a must-add!

Holy shit! This was beyond f‘ing incredible and I couldn’t put it down! We follow Lorenzo who was sent to Bastion, a correctional facility where inmates are sent to disappear for the depraved crimes they committed, despite not having actually committed the crime for which he was sentenced. Once there, Lorenzo meets Warden Sylva and Dr. Hart, who initially try to break him into confessing to the crime he didn’t commit, however, lines blur as secrets are revealed. The methods used by Warden Sylva and Dr. Hart are depraved and aimed to torture the inmates into confessions before tearing them apart for their misdeeds. My jaw was on the f‘ing floor with some of the creative shit they came up! And don’t get me started on the spice. It was hot as Hell and included FF, MF, and FFM scenes. The pacing in this one was fast and kept my attention hooked from page one. I couldn’t put this one down and highly recommend picking it up!
