Oh my god! This book was incredible. This book is a full-fledged romance set in prison. This book is dark; Warden Sylvia makes the inmates pay for their crimes in a depraved way. The chemistry she has with Dr. Mara was hot, but when Lorenzo Vale arrives, it's insane. I liked how Sylvia overcame her trauma.

I absolutely ate this book up! This is pitch black, FFM and set in a brutal prison. We have our warden, Sylva,our doctor, Dr. Mara Hart, and our inmate, Lorenzo. Prisoners get sent here who manage to escape more traditional servings of justice and Sylva and Mara do NOT go easy on their inmates. Lorenzo is the only one they haven’t been able to break.
While Mara and Sylva are very much together, the growing attraction to Lorenzo gets harder and harder to deny.
This was a wild ride and I loved every moment of it.

First of all, Willow Katz, I hate you for constantly popping up and tempting me with this book that I finally gave up! 😡 Your book baby, Barred, had no business being this yummy 😭 I fell in love since chapter two where Sylva, aka the warden with trauma and creative sport/torture plans said, "The ones who laugh while she begs and keeps going when she bleeds."
See that, folks? It only says "she".

The first three chapters of Barred are W.I.L.D. Look, I usually snort when someone gives a warning like “Check the triggers" because how dark can a book really be to terrify readers??? 🤨 But in this case, I’ll slap the warning myself because yes, YOU DO HAVE TO READ THE TRIGGERS. This book is dark. Like, really really dark you’ll probably need a candle and your therapist 👌
It’s about a prison called ✨ Bastion ✨, a place where mehn who commit the most bizarre crimes and feel no remorse or think they can get away with it end up. As Mara, the doctor quotes, "The only way out of here is in a body bag." They literally have giant, sewer-sized drains for blood!
The story follows the hot headed, dirty mouthed Lorenzo Vale, the newest inmate, as he enters Bastion straight into the clutches of Warden Sylva Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart. You’ll see how they break him, tame him, use him, how he goes from "I won’t break, they won’t get anything from me 😤" bullshit to "I want to earn every ounce of pleasure they throw at me, to be their good boy 🥺" It’s delicious 😋
I usually don’t care about the guy in a sapphic book. The only wiener I want to see is made of rubber, but here, Lorenzo fits between them without making Sylva and Mara feel small. He isn’t a sub in the traditional way bcs Lorenzo voluntarily makes himself theirs to play with. This man bled because of them and for them! 😩
Get a man who will do both for you, ladies 😘
The writing in Barred is absolutely top notch. There’s a short quote at the beginning of every chapter, each one so pretty it made choosing hard! Willow doesn’t use flowery, poetic words. Her voice is raw, real, sharp, with blood dripping from the edges. You might think all the ARC reviews filled with five stars are just being generous, but believe me as someone who dnf’d THREE arcs (it's a long story, I swear 😗), this book is just that good. I certainly don’t sugarcoat books I don’t enjoy just because I feel sorry for the author (we're not even friends, this is Willow's first book for me).
The smut starts in chapter three, where the women literally get off watching live torture porn. It’s fantastic. It’s hotter than your aunt’s soup. It’s a necessity for my thirsty sapphic soul 😩 Willow said I’d love this book for the gay part, and damn right she was 🙂
I love both FMCs with all their flaws which, honestly, there’s basically none 😔 Lorenzo says they’re every man’s dream, but I think he’s wrong, because girls would love to have them too (read: me. It’s me, ofc 😏). Sylva might look like the toughest of them all, but sometimes, when she’s vulnerable, Mara is there, telling her she’s safe, that she’s doing well. The women balance each other perfectly as Sylva said, "Sometimes I wonder which one of us is more fucked up. Every time I think it’s me, she invents a new way to prove otherwise."
I call that romantic teamwork hehehe 😌
Another character, Kane, caught my attention. His description wasn’t even clear, he’s just a side charactwr, another dog Sylva has on a leash. But the way he behaves, his psychotic tendencies, how he runs his mouth it had me liking him??? It’s like he steals page time the way some characters steal screen time in movies, but here ... In a book, yk 😩. So yeah, what happened to him was just .... 🙂
Thankfully, Barred ends in a HEA. Thank you so much to the author for writing this kind of poly. I’m very aware that ff isn’t a popular trope in reverse harems or poly, so fewer authors write it *cries*. Barred REALLY made me happy. I can feel that their relationship works and is needed, and it comes naturally, something so hard to achieve in poly stories, where there’s usually someone left out. This isn’t even about fetish: I felt how they loved each other, especially in the epilogue. Gosh, that epilogue 🥺

Wow! Barred was a wild ride. Bastion Penitentiary is not for the weak. Warden Sylvia Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart makes the inmates pay for their sins. They get justice when the legal system fails their victims. Lorenzo Vale is sent there but he's innocent and protecting his Don.
Check the triggers, this was an intense ride but I loved every minute of it. The ending was perfect.

This has been such an amazing read. Its in my top 5 Why Choose Reads, & it wasnt a Reverse Harem lol its FFM. Warden and the Dr. have been through Hell and back when it comes to men, so I understand why they run Bastion the way they do. They are 2 of the most unhinged, powerful FMCs, and unhinged is putting it lightly. 🤣🤣 The Warden an ex-cop was done wrong by the very system she worked for all because she was a woman in a "mans" job (oink oink). The Doc, now the mad scientist in Bastion, made a vow to give justice to the once silenced by "men" (I put that in quotations because a real man doesnt do what these men do) and get away with it, all the while the women they hurt are ruined forever and some cant take it and give up all together unfortunately 😭. These 2 women will show you a side of darkness you could only dream of. They have been togetehr for a long time. And then there is Lorenzo, the inmate who just wanted to do his time. He took every punishment, every hell they threw at him to try and break him. He took them all and not one word. He was only supposed to be another inmate they would break and toss out with the rest of the trash. But there's something about him and they couldn't deny the pull they felt. But with a woman in charge a man thinking he was better for the job tried to take everything. But what happens when you have 3 people who will stop anything to protect what is there's? You have a force that is not going to give up and roll over. These 3 together was a special thing to read about with their dynamic, the way they helped heal parts they never planned to confront, but together anything is possible! I read this book as an Alpha reader and just read it again Twice from the new copy!! And yes i read it twice lol 🤣🤣 seriously though, this book has everything, sp!ce galore, action, the most demented unhinged forms of t0rtur3 I've ever read 🤣 (I'm here for it.) You learn something new every day. And between the conversations with Willow and other friends who have read this also, Pitch Black is the only way to describe this Why Choose Prison Mafia Romance!!! And I'd definitely read Fatal Sloth and Deadly Wrath before so you can find the easter eggs Willow threw in here. I seriously cant wait to read the next book. But not until after the last book from her Scars From Sins Series! You dont have to read any of the Scars From Sin Series if you don't want to, it just makes it more fun. Willow you blew it out the water with this. And I cant wait to dive in deeper to every book after!!

It’s gritty, raw, in your face dark suspense, page turning gotta know what’s gonna happen. And, the ending is one you don’t quite see coming. I’m glad I took a chance and read a new to me author.
Lorenzo Vale is headed to Bastion. Sent there in hopes that he will turn over information. DA claims he was the ringleader in a trafficking scheme. Because who would willingly take the fall for someone else’s horrible deeds. Only he is willing to rot in this hell if it means protecting those he loves.

WARNING: THIS BOOK IS PITCH BLACK!!!! Did it fuel my addiction in the best way?! Yes….yes it did! However, the way I was NOT expecting the depravity, torture (although well deserved), and the jaw dropping moments I had while reading is an understatement haha! I mean…I would recommend NOT eating dinner while reading, just saying. The detail and imagery is PERFECTION. The relationship between the Wardon, Dr. Hart, and Vale is ELECTRIC, FILTHY, and DISTURBINGLY BEAUTIFUL.
Bastion Penetentry isn’t for the weak. This place is meant to house and torture the scum of the earth. The last place they come to before they meet their maker…in the most brutal way you can imagine (seriously though…). Wardon Sylva Reyes is the brains behind the operation. She is absolutely RUTHLESS. She demands control. Dr. Hart is the one working behind the scenes. Inflicting medical torture among the prisoned. The two of them together are a powerhouse and believe me when I tell you, you do NOT want to end up on their bad side.

Holy moly, I was not prepared, but in the best possible way! I was hooked from the very beginning and I did not put this book down once, I was captivated. It’s dark, it’s feral, it’s intense, and it’s spicccccyyyy!!! I absolutely love a feminine rage revenge story and this was written so well.

Warden Sylvia and Dr. Mara make the inmates pay for all of the horrible and disgusting charges and in the CRAZIEST ways possible. They are determined to get justice because the justice system has failed them and many women like them. But when an innocent man, Lorenzo Vale, is sent there all because he is protecting the Don, things start to heat up and get interesting.

Barred by Willow Katz is unapologetically pitch-black erotic fiction. This is a very dark, unhinged read—and I enjoyed it so much. The power imbalance between the characters was intense, consuming, and incredibly well done.
The character dynamics are what truly made this book stand out. Sylvia is feisty, stubborn, and unbelievably strong. She carries herself with an aura of confidence that I absolutely loved—it made her presence on the page impossible to ignore. She doesn’t bend easily, and that strength adds so much depth to the story.
Hart was another standout for me. Funny, hot, and surprisingly comforting, the way she talks Sylvia through her fears was genuinely sweet. Both fmc had very different personalities and it worked perfectly within the dark setting of the book.
And then there’s Lorenzo—OMG. Watching his shift throughout the story was everything. In the beginning, he’s convinced they won’t break… and later? Barred is a pitch black, dark, and twisted story that I am scared to admit, I enjoyed.
Bastian Penitentiary isn't the type of prison for criminals to seek redemption and learn from their mistakes. It is a brutal, torturous place where the worst of the worst criminals are sent to be erased. Warden Sylvia and Dr. Mara try to break their prisoners, get whatever information they can out of them in the most gruesome and torturous ways, and then release their souls in the most shameful but well deserved manner. Until they come across Lorenzo. He is unbreakable and seems to almost enjoy the torture. But once they learn he's holding strong out of loyalty and who his loyalty lies with, it changes the entire game.
This story is wild and dark. It had me cringing. But I couldn't stop. I love when bad people aren't shown mercy. Sylvia and Mara are two twisted, very intense, hot, women that love the torture they perform. They scare the heck out of me, but also, the kind of woman you should have in your back pocket.
Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading this one, but this is one wild ride everyone should experience. Willow did a fantastic job with this one. I highly recommend!!

O! My days, this book for me just had it all
Lorenzo Vale is sent to prison but not just your any run of the mill prison, this one is out in the desert, feared by all criminals ‘The Bastion’ is well known for ‘they go in but they don’t come out!’ The warden Sylva Reyes governs it with an iron fist, her methods will be a cause of concern for the inmates along with the on site doctor, Mara Hart they become a formidable team, co-ordinating their efforts smoothly to ensure they get justice and names from some of the worst offenders. Lorenzo however, is made of stronger stuff an enforcer for the mafioso he’s been through a lot of pain…Can they break him? Will he falter and give them a name?

I couldn’t put this one down, the punishments against the male criminals were exquisite 🤭 loved the dynamic of Sylva and Mara, to then introduce Lorenzo into it was just 🤌 The writing is descriptive with very effective visuals, the feminine rage certainly shines bright 🚩

I couldn’t put this one down, the punishments against the male criminals were exquisite 🤭 loved the dynamic of Sylva and Mara, to then introduce Lorenzo into it was just 🤌 The writing is descriptive with very effective visuals, the feminine rage certainly shines bright 🚩

I want to start with this is a deep dark wild book that is not nor will ever be for a sensitive reader your mental health matter! However, for someone as out there as I am goodness this was a treat in all the best ways. Ms. Willow Katz ma'am you are my cup of tea and with this book it checked all the boxes plus some. I'm going to be honest when I read the blurb, I was like holy F S**t this is going to be good like up all night till it is done, and it was. Warden Sylvia, Doctor Mara and Lorenzo were a match made for each other. The torture aspect was chef's kiss. Just when I thought she could not blow my mind anymore or throw another curb ball she did and that was absolutely the best. This dark erotica was the best one I have read so far and I'm in love with it. This is the first book I have ever read by Willow Katz and I'm hooked now. I love when the author puts there all in a book because you can feel it when reading and I felt like a little girl giggling and stomping and everything reading it.

Highly recommend this FFM Erotic Thriller. The hot smutty scenes and plot twists are jaw dropping.

There were moments I cringed and had to read through spread fingers, but the creativity for the punishments were absolutely diabolical!!! This story will stick with me for a VERY long time. It leans heavily into morally pitch-black territory and explores justice, punishment, and control in a way that’s both twisted and compelling. 💉
Willow fully commits to this concept and to a darker writing style. Barred is a spin-off of her Scars From Sin series which is dark, but it’s not nearly as twisted. This book stands firmly on its own with a few rats 🐀. I also really liked the cameos from characters in the original series. I’m a huge fan of a certain man-bun wearing second… and I’ll be patiently waiting for his filthy spin-off Willow! 🫦

Bastion Penitentiary is not for the weak, and from the first chapter you know this story is going to be dark, gritty, and intense. Warden Sylvia Reyes and Dr. Mara Hart deliver their own brutal form of justice when the system fails and they are absolutely ruthless together.
Lorenzo Vale ends up in Bastion accused of crimes he didn’t commit, willingly taking the fall to protect those he loves. Watching him endure what Bastion dishes out was intense, especially knowing he’s innocent. As the story unfolds, lines blur, truths come out, and the connection between Sylvia, Mara, and Vale becomes unexpectedly powerful.
This isn’t a typical romance...this is pitch-black dark suspense with dominant women, moral gray areas, and an ending I did not see coming. Please check the trigger warnings, because this one goes hard. Definitely glad I took a chance on a new-to-me author.

I started reading this book at 9pm, it’s is 2:30 in the morning and I just finished because I COULD NOT put it down! After reading the disclaimer I knew this was going to be a wild ride, and Willow did not disappoint. Barred is not just dark, it is pitch black! There was so much unhinged spice but also an amazing plot that flowed perfectly alongside it. I was kicking my feet, clutching my pearls, and holding my breath the whole time. I need a book two because I am not ready to be done with Lorenzo, Sylva, and Hart 🖤

I loved this book, it definitely brought you on an emotional roller-coaster. This book had me giggling, and saying wtf constantly! I loved the character Vale! The warden and doctor did some very descriptive things 🤣 I don't want to ruin it, but it was intense! But they were all criminals! The back story of Vale, and how he essentially was in prison to protect his mother and sister and was willing to endure anything Mara( Doctor), Sylva (warden) they did to him just so he didn't reveal someone. The plot was plotting when they realized he was innocent. Everything inbetween was fabulous, the spice was on point the M/F/F character relationship was great and the build was wonderful, the riot my god the way Mara tried to protect him and the way he siked her out that he was apart of it to protect her!!!, and my God that ending !!! This was a great read gave you everything you needed in a book! Happy reading and check your triggers with this one ! 🖤🖤🖤

Spice comes as soon as our Warden and Doctor put their eyes on Bastion's new inmate, Vale; a hot italian who ended there for very diferent reasons of what they thought. And now, breaking him might not be the only agenda they have for him.
Intense? Sure. Unhinged? Abso-fucking-lutely. And yet, satisfaying enough that makes you question your ethics.
Although this is by no means romance, it has these sparkles of love, hope and healing along with people who trusts and fights for you. So yes, after a very dark journey, you could expect a HEA (and a cute and nervous Vale).

Bastion is the place where all the filth who somehow slipped through the cracks of justice and the legal system finally get what they deserve. At first, you catch yourself wondering if the amount of torture is too much—but as you learn the reasons behind it, you realize it’s not nearly enough.
As the story unfolds, the FF and FFM scenes appear naturally within the plot and are done incredibly well. And in certain moments—especially the torture scenes—there is absolutely no lack of creativity. Every time, I found myself reading in complete disbelief.
There’s no softening here, no safe space offered. This isn’t for readers looking for sweet romance, but for those who crave dark, brutal, and boundary-pushing stories, it’s a truly striking read. 🖤

I have so many words and also none from pure shock. Let me just say, I read a lot of dark romance and I have never seen so many warnings about triggers. I do highly recommend you check them if you are someone who has any sort of trigger or trauma concerns. This book is dark and deranged and everything I love in a revenge justice, dark romance book. There are three main characters and they all mesh perfectly. The writing of their bonds and how they grow was amazing. The spice was top notch and DELICIOUS! Everything about this book was great. The warden and doctor are seeking justice against the worst kinds of criminals and doing what the legal system didn’t. Everything is calculated and planned for maximum suspense. If you love dark and devious, this is for you!

This was unlike anything I have ever read. The dark unhinged things that took place were next level. This was a very intense read from the beginning all the way to the end. We follow our 2 Fmc our warden Sylva and dr hart who run bastion prison a place where the worse of the worse are sent to get the punishment the system didn’t provide well enough. These two strong women have been through hell and trauma in their past by men and the system so they take matters into their own hands. The level of fucked up and unhinged shit that took place was crazy. Them walks in the new inmate Lorenzo vale a wrongly convicted man who changes it all for these two women lovers. This was a great read most def check your trigger warnings.

Oh how I loved this! Absolutely amazing! So dark and deamn! The things that happens in this book, yes they were dark things but my soul loved every second!
Sylva and Mara, they are so fierce and strong! And the things they do, yeah, I wanna do that too!
Lorenzo, well it’s not hard to quess that I drooled, a lot. He is so hot and loyal, there is some sweetnes in him too!
And that thrilling scene where everything went to h**l! I couldn’t sit down or shut up! I was bouncing on my bed and yelling out loud! That was like working out! Got a bit sweaty!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ My first Willow Katz read and I devoured it! Barred is dark, intense, and unapologetically heavy. This story was brutal and effed up in so many ways but so dam addictive! This isn’t a love story wrapped in pretty words, it’s hella messy and painful! Barred is dark, cruel, and emotionally suffocating in the best way and I ate it up! And the 🌶️ is brutal in some ways. The Warden is a cruel but bad ass in my eyes, her justice system is ruthless!! This book was brutal I loved every page of it!!
