Packs of Fox Hollow #2

Knot by Design: A Cozy Omegaverse Romance

Rate this book
Love burned her once.
She’s not letting another Alpha close enough to do it again.

After heartbreak and loss, Norah Knightly thought her flower shop would be enough.
Quiet mornings, cocoa by the window, and peace she built with her own two hands.

But peace doesn’t last long in Fox Hollow. With the Christmas Eve Festival fast approaching, her shop’s overrun with wreath orders, she’s managing the festival’s floral décor—and the last person she expects to see steps out of the snow.

Dorian—the Alpha who once swore forever, then left without a word.
Now he’s back, working with Pack Built Construction to get the town ready for the celebration. Which means Norah can’t avoid him…or the two Alphas standing at his side.

Jude, the quiet craftsman with sawdust in his hair and gentleness in his bones—the way he cares for his niece is impossible to ignore.
Ryker, the rugged, flannel-clad builder who guards his heart almost as fiercely as he guards hers.
They’ve both carried scars since losing their bonded Omega—but Norah’s warmth starts to heal what grief left behind.

The snow is falling. Her suppressants are failing. Her heat is rising.
And Norah can’t keep away from the three Alphas who are determined to claim her.

Beneath the mistletoe, she discovers that love doesn’t follow blueprints.
It breaks rules. It rebuilds what’s broken.
It’s Knot by Design.

Knot by Design is a standalone MFMM why choose omegaverse holiday romance in the Packs of Fox Hollow series. Get ready for knotting, heats, irresistible alphas, and cozy small-town Christmas vibes. No shifting. No choosing. Ultra swoony HEA.

Wow. I am shocked by these high reviews. This book is an absolute N.O.

The author can’t keep her own story straight. The biggest being the reason why he left. She said he left in the morning and never heard from him again. Later on in the story, that’s the complete opposite. Apparently they were doing the deed anytime he came back in town. That’s just one scenario in this book that contradicted itself .

And it’s snowing during Halloween? Did I miss something in the book on why that was happening? Maybe I glossed over it I don’t know, but it was confusing.

The lead male is a POS and the lead female is weak af. The story had no consistency whatsoever. The author wrote what she wanted when she wanted and disregarded all the previous things she wrote. Like when the little girl gets glasses and she shows the lead female for the first time? Why does that same scenario happen chapters later? Not to mention that some of the plot lines were SO BAD!

The little girl’s mom is an abuser… felt like the author was going to use that plot line really well and then just decided not to. BTW, the girl ends up with her POS mother in the end.

There are so many things wrong with this book. I was so irritated by reading this. I should’ve stopped, but I wanted to see how this train wreck would end.

I know this review is harsh, but it’s mostly because I’m flabbergasted that there are such high reviews of this book. You really can’t trust reviews anymore.

Nice cozy story. The pacing seemed a tad off through the book, but what got me was the rushed epilogue. A few weeks later, everything is perfect. Judge's sister is now living there and is now fine. All is good with their relationships with her. She's best buds with the FMC. Dorian's mom is suddenly not as needy. I don't mind a neat little bow at the end, but I'd like it to be on a believable timeline.

I really enjoyed most of this book. lol. The lack of communication between Dorian and Norah was actually making me upset. But I absolutely adore the rest of the story. I loved the characters, plot, how the pack developed. It was a very sweet love story between 2 alphas who lost their omega and the omega they are working with for a project. I really enjoyed seeing scenes before any of them even considered romanace because it made it feel more real, like friends to lovers instead of insta-love/lust. I just wanted Dorian to talk! I would still highly recommend this book. Just be prepared to want to smack an alpha.

I received an ARC in exchange for a review. There are mild spoilers.

This is a charming cosy omegaverse book without a third-act breakup. It’s a slow burn with a will-they-won’t-they dynamic and a second chance at love – why choose romance? Norah, the main character, owns the florist in Fox Hollow. Dorian is her on-and-off ex who never committed. Ryker and Jude lost their first mate in a tragic accident, believing they’ll never find another until Norah enters their lives and before they know it she turns everything upside down. I loved the first book and I’m eagerly awaiting the next one when it’s released.

"Knot by Design" delivers a heartfelt slow burn with characters worth rooting for. The emotional build is steady, drawing you in with quiet intensity. The ending felt a bit rushed leaving me wanting just a little more. Still, a satisfying read that lingers with warmth and promise.

DNF at 6%.

Chapter one reads like a prologue. And I tend to hate prologues these days. Especially when it includes someone completely in love who decides to pursue their "dream" rather than staying with the person they supposedly love.

I was fortunate to receive a ARC copy of this book. Spoilers ahead. This book is a second chance Omegaverse romance. Norah & Dorian have had a tumultuous love story going back to their teenage years. They were best friends who go in different directions once they’re adults before coming back together. Ryker & Jude lost their love in a tragedy and are still grieving. The four of them come together and heal each other. I have whole heartedly enjoyed this story and definitely recommend it if you enjoy sweet cozy omegaverse books.

💫 ARC Review

I have so many mixed emotions about this one. I love cozy omegaverse and when I read Knot A Drill I practically finished it in a day. I was really excited for Norah’s book especially because I’m a sucker for second chance but idk…this just didn’t really hit for me you know? I don’t know if it was the blatant communication issues between Doris & Norah—which drove me so crazy, especially because we don’t even really know what went wrong until closer to the end of the book and there was basically next to zero groveling from Dorian—or the fact that the dynamic between all of them just felt so off. In the end, we don’t even know if they bonded or not, though I’m guessing not. We don’t know if Ryker & Jude were an actual pack, and they didn’t live together either, which is something you also find in the first book as well.

And then did Dorian just join their pack in the end? I feel like a true, actual conversation never really happens just that Dorian’s in love with her—something he admits even though we already know—and then Jude & Ryker felt the same. In the end, I really didn’t feel convinced at all about their love story — maybe more so her connection with Dorian than the other two. Again, that’s something I felt in the first book as well, there wasn’t really an equal balance between the four of them. This was VERY slow burn, btw. At 70%, she was still going back and forth with Dorian and had only been with him - and complained about having had done it - and not until about 80% of the book does she go into heat and ends up with all three alphas.

Another thing that I really found difficult to ignore and took me out of the story repeatedly was the writing. The fragmented sentences were too much and there were SO many, similes, I feel like the entire book was a catalogue of poetic comparisons that kind of sounded over the top and didn’t always fit the scene. Constantly reading things like “like a bruise that won’t fade”, or “like a memory I never wanted to revisit” and “like a blow I half-expected but still can’t brace against”…it sounds beautiful, yeah, but also just overdone. Like can words just be words without being a slap in the face? Cant her fingers just curl into his wrist and leave it at that? These could all just be little me things but it just made it difficult for me to really enjoy this one along with the characters and pack dynamic — or lack thereof — as a whole.

Overall, would I recommend this? Ehhhh, not sure. I wouldn’t not recommend it but it wouldn’t be the first thing I think of if someone’s looking for a cozy omegaverse story.

Thank you so much to the author for a chance to have ARC read this.

A cute and cozy holiday omegaverse!

Norah has been burned by love before and she's determined not to let it happen again. She is happy in her cute little flower shop and hanging out with her best friend. When the alpha from her past, Dorian, comes back to town, their paths inevitably collide. In order to prepare for the Christmas Eve celebration, Dorian has to work with Jude and Ryker on the construction, but he didn't expect that they would ask Norah to help with the decorations. As the three work together to get everything done, they also have to navigate their changing feelings and their past relationships if they want to be together.

I really liked Norah and how she would do anything for the town and her friends. I also really loved how the pack developed throughout the course of the book. Ryker and Jude were so adorable with Norah and with Maisie, Jude's niece. They really focused on being there for Norah and protecting her even before the romance really started. I really appreciated that we got to see Norah interacting with Ryker and Jude before things became romantic for them. You could really tell that these were her friends and not just random alphas that were attracted to her. There was a lot of miscommunication or just plain failure to communicate between Dorian and Norah which got to be really frustrating at times. It felt like they would both forget that phones existed at times and couldn't possibly give the other person a heads up about things that happened. I did like the ending although it felt a little bit fast. I really enjoyed how each of the characters had to go through a different journey to overcome something in their past. They were all able to communicate (eventually) and lean on each other to overcome their qualms about their relationship. Overall, I thought it was an adorable slowburn romance and I would love to read more about the characters! Also, I definitely need to go back and read Wren's story - she was hilarious!

MMC sleeps with FMC, professes his love, leaves in the middle of the night, and when shows up 5 years later, she says she has not seen him since then. And now they get to have a second chance? Yeah, no. Sorry not sorry but that shit ain't romance. Who wants someone who abandoned them after sex? Dnf page 38.

The writing isn't even that great, this book would have needed great characters to carry it but we go horny mmc who abandoned her once already without word (though I did check some reviews and apparently we can't even keep that story straight but that's what she told him on page 38 so that's what I know for sure to be true) a fmc who has obvious issues because she will obviously end up taking said mmc back (or maybe she will go into heat and biology will override logic and she'll be stuck with him until she forgives him after his probably non existent groveling because thats how the trope goes and this book is following a certain formula for sure) and another mmc who obviously likes her but can't move on after the death of his last omega. At least that motivation is understandable. And potentially the dudes friend, pseudo packmate? (The friends pov suggested he was pack and had a future with the other omega and the friend but also they have two separate cabins now so not pack?) He's going to be that awkward random person in the group that no one knows why he is there, isn't he? These characters are not enough to combat the writing and loser dude leaving and coming back as a love interest sealed the deal.

PSA: Authors, if you have a poor character who needs to get money to "better himself" just let him win the darn lotto. I'm tired of the "sorry I ripped your heart out and ruined your ability to trust others...but I did it for you/us" trope. Love interests who stick with you when the shit hits the fan are more attractive than a rich ass who leaves you for selfish reasons. Thanks. Bye.

Norah is content running her small flower shop and spending time with her best friend, having previously sworn off love after being hurt. Her resolve is tested, however, when Dorian, an alpha from her past, returns to town, leading to an unavoidable reunion.

Their paths officially collide when Dorian, along with pack members Jude and Ryker, are preparing the town for the Christmas Eve celebration. Dorian is focused on the construction, but the men decide to enlist Norah's help with the decorations. As the four work together, they must confront their past and their developing feelings if they hope to forge a future together.

I adored Norah's dedication to her friends and the town. The development of the pack dynamic throughout the book was also a highlight. Ryker and Jude were incredibly sweet with Norah, as well as with Jude’s niece, Maisie. Their focus on protecting and supporting Norah before their relationship turned romantic was greatly appreciated. Seeing Norah's genuine friendship with Ryker and Jude, rather than them being merely random alphas drawn to her, made their connection feel authentic.

The romantic aspect is a slow-burn, which I found adorable. Each character's journey to overcome personal hurdles and past issues was compelling. They eventually learned to communicate and lean on each other, which helped resolve their reservations about the relationship.

My main frustration was the frequent lack of communication, or outright miscommunication, between Dorian and Norah. There were frustrating moments where it felt like both characters simply forgot that modern communication methods existed.

Overall, I really enjoyed this romance and would love to read more about these characters!

This was cute, cozy, and sweet. Wish it were a bit longer- the end kind of snuck up on me.

I do want to say that a lot of plot lines felt a little unclear or unresolved because we were trying to keep it cozy. But if you want to keep it cozy, maybe don’t have us save a little girl from a neglectful and abusive home to then send her back because “the bad guy is gone” and be like “everything is good now”. Amber (the girls mother and one of the MMC’s sister) is a neglectful parent and it was just never addressed again. Just “she’s trying her best now” but there wasn’t really a moment of acknowledgment for the fact that she didn’t even realize her daughter couldn’t see properly.

Also I think the way the story began with Norah and D was a little misleading bc it made it seem like that was the last time she saw him, but it actually turns out they would hook up when he regularly came back into town? I don’t know, but I don’t feel like that has as much emotional weight as the story that was originally laid out.

One final critique, but this is of the characters themselves, not the storytelling/writing. I hate when a widowed MMC “has never felt this way about anyone before”. The whole concept of why-choose is that you can have equal 100% room in your heart for more than one person, so why do we feel like we have to discount the love you had before and still carry with you by suddenly feeling the need to disparage that person and relationship? I find it far more heartwarming when those lost partners are given space to hold, even when gone. Just my personal opinion. Like bro you were MATED.

All that said, I have been in a HUGE reading slump and couldn’t finish any books. So the fact that I finished this is a huge point in its favor, and maybe I would’ve even rated it higher if I had been in the mood for a cozy little small town story.

A stupid and pathetic female lead character despite what the author tries to claim

SMH. The author has just created a man I wouldn't touch and wouldn't allow to touch me with a 10 ft pole, always putting his ambitions, wants, priorities above the person he supposed to love, figuring he'll get to a relationship when it's convenient for him and reducing the female lead to just that, a convenience item for when he gets around to it, a last-place non-priority. Then the author has the audacity to continually declare that the character is not stupid or weak. Uh, YES that is EXACTLY what her continually tolerating being treated as a convenience makes her.

Love isn't an excuse to turn off your brain and refuse to accept what a person is really like and how they think of you, because he's been SHOWING her every time he comes around and leaves over and over again-- and she's just not getting it. After a couple of times it goes beyond "hope" soundly into stupidity and pathetic weakness by completely ignoring or denying reality and by doing so she's basically giving him license given him permission to treat her this way because she keeps letting him do it without any real consequences. Love isn't an excuse to not see what they're showing you, not learn from your experience; someone can and should (if they're mature and not stuck in that tween all hope eskewing reality phase) still be smart about it, especially if they've long since realized everything between them has fallen into a toxic pattern.

A Pack in Bloom

I really enjoyed this book. Fox Hollow is a charming small town filled with cozy vibes where everyone knows everyone and rumors run wild.

Norah owns the flower shop in Fox Hollow, and she has such a kind, gentle heart. She quietly battles loneliness year after year after her longtime friend and partner leaves her without so much as a goodbye. Dorian loves Norah, but he doesn’t know how to love her properly. After leaving the one woman he truly has feelings for, he only comes home occasionally, reconnecting with Norah before leaving again. This time, however, he returns for his ailing mother.

Ryker and Jude are both trying to come back to life after the devastating loss of their mate. Ryker is serious, protective, and an all-around great guy. He refuses to acknowledge his growing feelings for Norah, believing he deserves to suffer without his mate. Jude, on the other hand, is the caretaker, helping raise his eight-year-old niece and helping her grow into herself while holding everyone together.

All four of these characters are carrying heavy emotional burdens, but together they find the strength to face them. Each alpha needs Norah in a way only she can fulfill, and her omega needs them just as deeply.

I enjoyed seeing Wren and her pack in this story. This was such a sweet, comforting read, and I can’t wait to see what this author writes next.

Cosy RH romance

A lovely fun heartwarming small-town RH romance, with great humor, lovely sweet character development, building, flowers, chemistry, spice, emotions, romance and love. A lovely second-chance romance story in a small town where secrets don't stay hidden for long; where they will all need to deal with their pasts and she'll need to learn to lean on and support three sexy men who work as Pack Built Construction.

Five years after he left her Norah still thinks of Dorian. He'd promised her forever but had left without a word. You can really feel the conflicting emotions she feels when she sees him again and learns he might be back for good this time. The fact her heat is rising doesn't help and the dreams she's having with him in; though they also start to feature the two craftsmen working with him on the town hall rebuild.

Dorian had promised her forever and left, now he's wanting a second chance.
Jude is a caring craftsman with a sweet niece he loves, though he misses the connection he had with the Omega he'd bonded with, with Ryker, and lost.
Ryker guards his heart, worrying it would be unfaithful to love another, though he can't help wanting to look after Norah.

It was also nice to see Wren and her men again (Knot a Drill).

This was an enjoyable Omegaverse story. Lots of struggles between them with some spice thrown in.
Norah and Dorian share a complicated history. He left her heartbroken but she still can’t shake him. I wish there was more groveling and better attempts on Dorian’s part to make things right. I feel he just kept saying he was sorry and because somewhere deep down Norah still loves him and because of her omega instincts she can’t seem to stay away. He does however show up when it counts. I also love how he relocated back home to take care of his mother. He’s a good man deep down, he just can’t communicate very well and tends to run away instead of talking things out.
Jude and Ryker have been through some tough times. They lost their Omega years ago. I feel for them, especially Ryker. It seems he’s taking it the hardest. He doesn’t feel like he has the right to move on and be happy. That if he doesn’t it’ll tarnish the memory of Claire. However, Norah finds away into both men’s hearts. They care about her even before they admit their feelings.
Despite their pasts and unresolved issues, they overcame everything and ultimately lived happily together.

I really enjoyed Fox Hollow # 1 "Knot a Drill". "Knot by Design" is a charming follow up book.
Omegaverse✅
Small Town ✅
Yummy why choose✅
There's lots of humor here (only my second book by Tia Tomlin, so I can't say it's a her thing). But, there's almost as much heartbreak and angst. Norah and Dorian have a past. Best friends, lovers, split, get back together. Rinse. repeat.
Ryker and Jude lost their omega lover, Claire, two years prior. Still grieving, they are guilty about the feelings for Norah. Toss in Ryker's niece, Maisie, and a user sister, and we get angst. Angst and pining.
It's a hurt/comfort, second chance read, one filled with forgiving and hope. Once again Ms Tomlin gives all her characters equal voices, distinct personalities. There's a lot of emotion in this story. Lots of spice, too. It was lovely reading some more about Wren and her harem. Fox Hollow is small town comfort and winter fun. This was a delightful surprise, a Christmas gem.
Oh. And a man smelling like pine and sawdust. With a toolbelt. A toolbelt!.

This says it’s a cozy OMV, and it is! It’s a small, cozy town around Christmas and definitely gives Christmas/holiday vibes. But this also broke me apart more than once!! The way that Tia writes her character development and the detail she goes into really makes those emotions shine through. And so many emotions!! OMG! I could feel what these characters were feeling. It was deep.

This ends on a very happily ever after note, but there is a journey that these characters go through to get their HEA. Second chance and love after loss are 2 tough topics to write about and Tia does it very well. These characters are connected and they feel that connection. It pulls them together and despite them fighting it a bit, they finally give in! And do they give in!! 🥵🫠🥵🫠🥵🤗😘🥰

If you are after a heartfelt, cozy OMV that might make you cry a little, both sad and happy tears, this is the one!

This was such an enjoyable book. You really feel for all the main characters involved. Ryker and Jude for loosing their bonded mate and Dorian for his struggles with wanting better, an abusive father and a sick mom.
I love how they came together. It was really sweet. I feel why everyone would be hesitant.
What felt a bit disjointed was the two different stories/packs.
I felt like it was Norah and Dorian, childhood sweethearts. Separated due to choices and circumstances, Then Norah and Jude/Ryker falling in love post loss.
The other odd feeling was not quite knowing how Jude and Ryker fit in together. It almost felt like they were separately mated to their omega who passed and not as close as other bondmates are? It could just be the loss.
I feel like the story really heavily centered on Norah and Dorian and Jude and Ryker were a bit of an afterthought in the relationship.
I also never felt that "joined bonded brother" feel between all the men in the pack.
None of this really takes away from the central story and it flows really nicely together! I really enjoyed it!.

Knot by Design was such a satisfying and engaging read. I really enjoyed the balance between emotional depth, pack dynamics, and the undeniable chemistry between the characters. The story felt well thought out, with strong connections forming naturally rather than feeling rushed, which made the relationships especially rewarding to follow.

The characters were compelling and distinct, each bringing their own personality and emotional weight to the story. I loved how the pack bond developed—protective, intense, and deeply emotional—while still leaving room for vulnerability and growth. The heat was definitely there, but it never overshadowed the heart of the story, which made the romance even more impactful.

This book is a great choice for readers who enjoy omegaverse romance with strong pack dynamics, emotional connection, and plenty of spice. If you like stories that are both passionate and character-driven, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

I loved all the tension and turmoil with the man characters. Norah and Dorian have a complicated past. They’ve been together forever but he always leaves, leaving begin a heart broken omega. Their chemistry is extra spicy and I’d be a puddle of goo too. I wish there would’ve been more groveling from him though. They did move forward and find peace with their past but it felt like it was rushed. He needed to be on his knees begging even more! Ryker and Jude are still grieving their mate who passed several years ago. Their pain as they navigated these new feelings felt so real and raw. I loved everyone’s interactions with Jude’s niece Maisie and I hope we get to read about her mom’s healing journey soon! Although the characters are navigating some strong emotions it still had a cozy vibe to it. Perfect read for a snuggly day curled up reading!.

First? I absolutely love the universe Tia has created. It feels like a cozy hometown you can step right into. I really enjoyed watching the four main characters’ stories unfold—each on their own path, but woven together in such a natural, satisfying way as time passes.

The emotions feel genuine for genuine reasons, and even though the characters are all heading toward the same conclusion, they don’t get there the same way. That variety in perspective is one of my favorite things about her writing. This is the second book I’ve read from her, and I’ve loved them both.
And yes, the spice is hot, but what makes it meaningful is the why behind it—intimacy used as care, comfort, and support for someone dealing with a condition she can’t control. That’s honestly one of the things I appreciate most about the Omegaverse when it’s done well.

Definitely recommend.

Isn't very OV

This is going to sound quite vague but im trying not to give spoilers!

I really liked the idea of the storyline so I started this series with this book. I don't feel like there was any resolution to the issues in the blurb - it's talked about as though it's a problem, but none of the characters actions show it's a problem and suddenly they're all past it without any proper discussion or resolution.

I also felt like a lot of the usual omegaverse stuff wasn't there. Are packs a thing in this world? There appears to be one other pack in that town (her best friends) and the characters seem quite confused about the idea her being with more than 1 alpha. Very little talk about other people's designations. Some scent stuff, but it's confusing.

Perhaps some of the world building stuff it better explained in other books in the series but as it states it's a standalone, it should be clearer.

I couldn't put this book down, I was hooked from the start. I loved the first book in this series and this second one has not disappointed me.
It is a slow burn, emotional but heart warming story full of ups and downs with each of the main characters but it also contains some great humour too.
I love how the author incorporates the characters smoothly from the first book.
Norah owns the flower shop and has a tense past with Dorian, whilst Ryker and Jude who are a pack have a sad history but who are drawn to Norah which leaves them with feelings of guilt. An emotional roller coaster for each of them to try and overcome.
I can't wait for book 3 "Knot On The Menu" to be released.

I love to hate characters and Dorian has my hate from the very beginning. He constantly is letting Norah down and proving that he is not reliable, all while walking all over her at times. I get that he has a lot of issues going on in his life but it would be so simple to solve if he would just COMMUNICATE! He does thankfully learn the art of communication come the end of the book.

This was a very sweet, slow burn where Norah finds the perfect combination of men that fit her. She also helps each of them in individual ways to be better people.

I loved seeing Jude's niece, Maisie, because she is the sweetest little girl and a great judge of character.

This charming standalone, is the second story within Fox Hollow! Norah an Omega is the local Flower shop owner. Jude & Ryker are the Alpahs of the Pack Built who are nursing their hearts over losing their Mate a few years ago. Dorian is an Alpha architect that has broken Norah's heart many times over the years.

The four of them are tasked with working together to bring back to life an old local community center in major need of a rebuild. Can four hearts be rebuilt as well? Can love heal old wounds?

If you like Omegaverse, Second Chances, Reverse Harem, small town charm romances, you should give this one a read.

Tia Tomlin has done it again! A beautifully written story that invokes feelings of warmth and happiness. Wonderful characters and watching their stories develop left the relationships feeling authentic and true.

Reading the way Dorian, Jude and Ryker open themselves up to their Omega Norah allows the reader to join their individual journals from hesitation and feelings of unworthiness to accepting that they are allowed to be happy with the Omega they were destined to be with.

And of course the spiciness is just the right amount to leave you wanting more ;).

'Knot by Design is a standalone MFMM why choose omegaverse holiday romance in the Packs of Fox Hollow series. Get ready for knotting, heats, irresistible alphas, and cozy small-town Christmas vibes. No shifting. No choosing. Ultra swoony HEA.'

The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was well written and straightforward. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!.
