The next books of the series! The Wind Rose (The Artificer Book 6): The Beast's Seal (The Artificer Book 7):
And once again, a new commission turns out anything but simple. At first, nothing makes sense at all—but as events unfold, dangerous details begin to surface… ones that could shake the Imperial throne itself.
To make matters worse, the Voznesensky mansion is getting visitors—and not the pleasant kind. Not to mention that a clash with a powerful dark mage could happen any moment.
And yet, no obstacle is insurmountable, be it an ancient curse or meddlesome relatives. Our hero faces trials by fire and water, and a sea voyage full with salty winds, raging storms—and hope.
“Now that's an interesting problem,” as Count Alexander would say.
Water and fire magic development, saving a state treaty, though getting even more involved with imperial issues, acquiring a little island, fighting the dark mages and befriending an admiral turned lighthouse keeper, while keeping nasty and covetous relatives at bay and ensuring grandpa Lucas romance works out by getting rid of a generational curse on his intended - all in a few weeks work for our hero in another superb life affirming book - both read and listened as the narration adds a lot
Not boring. Inventive. Mystery. Action. Intrigue. Great characters. Alexander is fabulous! Draws the “good people” to him. And animals. And Ortherfolk. Great book. On to the next. Read this series!
Nice progression on this story line with lots of action with an excellent foundation of a believable realistically good magic system as a strong foundation.
My reviews are my own. If you liked this book, I’m glad you enjoyed it. If not, I respect your opinion, so please respect mine. This is merely my view, so let's keep it courteous. My review is honest and voluntary.
I feel the series is turning a bit too political and social positioning for my taste. I don't mind him being a noble, but what I like about the first book is that they didn't get too much into it. However, this book was full of it and I can care less about nobility and the stick up their booty. I'm getting tired of the whole death mage villain, too. I mean, the MC is supposed to be super OP, but then he is having a hard time getting rid of ONE mage, and we are on book 5? I hate series that keep using the same villain figure for every book just for the sake of extending the story rather than for it serving a real purpose. The whole series can be based on the discovery of things and the development of powers, and not centered on a ridiculous, unnecessary character. It is getting repetitive. Also, what is the focus on food?!?! Is this a cooking series? They spend more time eating than atificing. The MC is always complaining about being broke, but they waste so much money; it is contradictory. Anyway, the main story is good, but all the unnecessary filler is getting tiring and boring.
