ADRIENNE

Life is about new experiences—so being offered the role of Unit Chief of the Profiling and Investigation Unit, was a life-changing decision. Everything is finally falling into place. Or so I thought. When I’m assigned to handle a case that could make or break the future of our department, I discover that there’s more at stake than I ever imagined.

With my partner, Evan Andrews, and our talented team, I’m determined to uncover the secrets threatening everything we’ve worked for. As the case unfolds, I find myself distracted by something unexpected—the undeniable chemistry between Evan and me. He’s everything I never saw coming, especially with those unofficial dates, the secret hot chocolates, and how he makes my heart race when he enters a room.

Love wasn’t part of my plan when I took this job, yet with every passing day, I can’t ignore that our connection feels real—and that terrifies me.

EVAN

My goals are prove myself to the board and continue to serve my community. What was not on my list; completely fall for my partner Adrienne Cross. Adrienne is everything I never knew I needed. She’s strong, brilliant, and captivating in every way. Working alongside her on this high-stakes case makes me want to protect her even more, even if it costs me my life.

I truly loved this book! Not only are the characters fun, exciting and full of banter but they actually take time to get to know each other. Evan is amazing and probably one of the best MMCs that is focused on building a relationship rather than just it being about desire. The way he loves Adrienne is intoxicating. And Adrienne...ADORE HER. She's fierce and loyal. And takes nothing from no one.

These two are worth every read! I loved them so much.

Mission Accomplished brings me back to why I began reading again! A unique story that spoke to me in a way that feels very personal and taught me a lesson I needed to learn at this stage in my life.

Adrienne was a beautifully written character who experienced the worst kind of betrayal that of course left her closed off and walls built higher than humanly possible. Evan has a rough start at life as well but that only left him optimistic and determined to be the best he could, prove people wrong.

From their initial interaction we see the will they won't they dance. Which honestly is my favorite, I LIVE for a friends-to- lovers romance and Adrienne & Evan gave me that and SO MUCH more. Evan's patience with Adrienne was admirable and spoke to his character and understanding of her in ways that was so beautiful to read. The way this story evolves made me want to read more but also slow it down. I was not ready for it to end but boy did it with a BANG! Luna Knight is a new favorite because she can TELL A STORY!

Adrienne is a strong, dominant, and independent FMC. Insert Evan-every bookish girly's walking dream. Evan is everything you want your man to be- the protector, provider, and he LISTENS *Swoon*

I really loved this story's strong mental health focus and it's importance, along with what a supportive partner in that looks like 🩷 I also appreciate Adrienne's journey toward coming out of the survival mode she was in and taking back her femininity, which is so beautiful.

Cons: Overuse of the nickname, which drives me crazy. While I loved the story as an ADHD reader, toward the end, I felt there were chapters that could have been cut to wrap the book up a bit sooner because it didn't add anything to the storyline that the reader didn't already know and it made the story lag just a tad.

Thank you to Luna Knight for allowing me to be apart of the Mission Impossible ARC team, in exchange for an honest review. Excited to read the next book in the series!

As a woman in a male-dominated workplace myself, I was so excited to read about Adrienne as she stepped into her leadership role at the NAI.

Having to see her cheating ex in the workplace, Adrienne knew that she would have some annoyances to overcome as she stepped into her new role as Section Chief, but what she didn't expect was the attraction she's instantly have to her new partner, Evan.

For a debut novel, I was impressed with how well the book was written. I enjoyed the flow of the book and how easily Adrienne and Evan seemed to gravitate toward one another. As someone who likes a good mystery, I had a good time trying to find out who the mole was. Sadly, because I read so much mystery, I figured it out rather early on. Regardless, I still liked it and am looking forward to the next book in the series!

Thank you to Luna Night for an advanced copy for my reading.

enjoyed

IR romance, workplace, slow burn. The FMC is at the top of her field in the bureau and finds herself instantly drawn to her new partner. I had to keep reminding myself to give her some grace because she second guesses everything, and you realize a lot of that comes from her mental health struggles. I loved the MMC. From first sight he knew she was his wife. He was intentional and understood he had to move carefully to break those walls down. The mystery around the secret case was a real highlight. Overall, I enjoyed the read.

ADRIENNE + EVAN.

I really loved Mission Accomplished by Luna Night. Evan is a strong MMC who supports Adrienne in every way. Evan wants to worship Adrienne in every way possible but they work together... cue the forced proximity AND work place romance tropes. The banter and witty come backs for each of the MCs is off the charts good.

Adrienne deals with workplace trauma and Evan is right there. Evan is a walking GREEN FLAG.

Anyway, the characters in Mission Accomplished are strong, vocal and a great group for future novels in this series.

Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.75 stars! I enjoyed reading this book in anticipation of book 2 coming out soon. Adrienne was bad ass but because of past relationships and work place trauma she was scared to let others in. I related to her so much as an avid romance reader who also loved video games. Evan was the epitome of a book boyfriend. He fell for her one night at a college party and years later they reunite. The chemistry between the two was so intriguing.
