The second semester at the Academy was underway, and Benedict’s life was now even more complicated than it ever had been. His relationship officially expanded when Sadie joined him and Atropos, not just at their party, but as a girlfriend. That caused some bumps as old traumas resurfaced and cast doubts over their new relationship. All of them were determined to make it work, and because they were able to work through those moments, they grew closer together.
If balancing a new relationship wasn’t difficult enough, the three of them also had to use Pockets to advance up the Ranks. Having delved up a full Rank during the last tournament, the now-expanded party decided to do it again, leaving the Rank 4 Pocket for the Rank 5. They weren’t alone on that dangerous course, either, as their good friends were doing the exact same thing.
That pushed both groups into moments where a fraction of a second could’ve meant death for one or more of them. The worst instances came at the hands of different shamans. The blood ritualist almost killed Benedict on their first delve, but his Blood Healing had kept him alive. The worst was the warlord who nearly killed Benedict, Atropos, and Sadie at different points throughout their fight.
They survived and reached Rank 5, advancing a step closer to the Heavens. At this Rank, their Spheres would allow them to augment themselves. It was normally a huge point in every Holder’s journey, but that took a backseat to what Benedict found out and received from his bloodline. Having been given a gift that would endanger him if it were known, he still used it to help Sadie break free of her family.
They had a couple of weeks before the semester was going to end. Once it did, they— along with Victor’s group— would be ready for the Rank 5 tournament, which had been shrouded in secrecy. They were focused on not just entering that tournament, but emerging as the best of those who entered. The only thing left afterward would be graduation and then leaving the world behind, finding other worlds with Pockets that they could delve to keep advancing.

Here goes another book by Daniel Schinhofen, this was my 26th book by him, and all have been wonderful, and I am excited to read more of his work from the completed series, so that I don't have to wait for months for the next entries. I again loved scenes with Matt, and now Aster also joined, it looks like those characters are from one of Matt's alternate lives in Minkala. It's just wonderful seeing the appreciation of other excellent series. I love LitRPG and have read many books and series and plan to read more and more and Keep on Reading.
People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put, I love reading, so I have made it my motto to Forever Keep on Reading. I love reading everything except for self-help books, even occasionally. I read almost all the genres, but YA, Fantasy, and Biographies are the most read. My favorite series is Harry Potter, but then there are many more books I adore. I have bookcases filled with books that are waiting to be read, so I can't stay and spend more time on this review. Remember, I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love, and then just Keep on Reading.
Things progress and the relationship between the group is finally feeling whole. The continue fighting and get picked for a raid group with their friends. They then graduate and both girlfriends have to deal with their family at the graduation. The story ends as the group is heading off world to continue their climb to the heavens. There was one interesting story point and I am not sure what it means. Overall, I do like the series. I like most of what this author writes.
Read path of ascension rather than this book. I was annoyed buy how the author uses aster in this one. I just couldn’t get into the book. Prolly just done with the author in general to be honest. He has a good verity of books. But it’s all the same to varying degrees and I’m just tired of it all.
For this book,,
Too much past trauma,, Old baggage and frankly the story feels like I’m being bludgeoned into trying to get to the part in the book where it picks up. Never got to that point. It’s 90% filler. Maybe 4 chapters that advance the story into what comes next. And everting else is consent. And tolerance and asking if everything is okay. And is it truly okay. And are you sure your okay. Cause all I want is for you to be okay. Frankly it’s infuriating.
A great addition to the series and show more world building and character development. One the best feature of the author Daniel Schinhofen is the regularly published schedule of books. I Sincerely appreciate his dedication to his series and getting books out. I am reading more than this series so good reading is achieved. Mr Schinhofen can definitely write a good storyline or really storylines since has several out currently that are all quality. If you are interested in any then I would recommend you read it.
I know on some level that eventually this series will end but so help me I'll happily read another twenty entries or more if they keep up this level of quality. A great mix of adventuring, dungeon (pocket) diving, and slice of life, with equally fine descriptions of tense combat and delicious cuisine. Also it's lovely to read an author who is really dedicated to frank and honest descriptions of trauma and its healing process, showing steady character growth and developing wholesome relationships both romantic and otherwise. Most highly recommended!
Ben and his two GFs take a chance on being lovers as well as adventurers, with Sadie and Ben having to become immune to their partner's innate poison dictating a slow pace to match their emotional caution. Unusual since most LitRPG stories have parties larger than three. Excellent editing. Absorbing with plenty of action, drama, and arguably some melodrama as well. Enjoyed. Now to wait for the next sequel! LOL!
This was another good story in this series. It was interesting to see them deal with some serious pocket challenges, including some unexpected surprises, of course.
Three was finally some resolution for the group's family issues, though there will be at least one more needed discussion in the future.
It's exciting to see them finally graduate and start on their journey as young adults. 🎓 🎉
Note: I appreciate that there aren't explicit scenes, and they are mostly just alluded to. 😊
Been reading Dan's work for years now and I wasn't 100% sure about the Heavenly Chaos series at first, but I was wrong. The emotional availability of the characters and the willingness to work through things with one another is heartwarming in ways I didn't realize i needed to be reading more about till this series. Thanks again for another banger of a story Mr. Schinhofen, I look forward to the next installment of Heavenly Chaos.
I have always loved Schinhofen novels, with the focus on action, adventure and building bonds between friends and lovers is a unique and always welcome style to read.
Heavenly Chaos being one with an interesting element of characters overcoming their own Trauma to come together and strive towards the heavens.
This was one of those books that I just could not put down. There are things I needed to do but I kept telling myself just one more chapter and then another chapter until I finished the book. Love all the characters in this book. The nine friends making such a firm friendship and going on the raid together made for an astounding story. Looking for the next book in this series with serious anticipation.
Really enjoyed this instalment and looking guard to reading more in the series to see where ben and gang do next. I found the band changes to be good and fit the people well. White the heavy bits can be Abbott repetitive it's also good to see how their working through their problems. Three is also a good bit of humour to laugh at as well. Thanks for writing ask that you do.
Reaching for the heavens takes more than just your own effort. It means building friendships so you can support each other. Reba's team were once adversaries when Ben's team joins with Victor and Reba's teams they can be champions. The academy challenges were just the beginning.
I found this book a fairly quick read. The book was mainly about closing up the various plot lines in the story so far as the MC finishes his and his team's training, and to be honest, I was going to give the book 4 stars, but added the 5th back for the nos to the Path of Ascension series. Thank you Daniel for another book.
I think the book was fun and the growth of the characters was interesting. I like the delve was fun and unexpected for me. I like the direction the story is going while the characters are dealing with issues that are relevant. Please keep the great work up. My family and I enjoy th authors works and look forward to the books audio versions for work relief.
Always the problem with a series. You have to spend time painting the world. We suffer a bit and there's no real bad guy to beat up. I was hoping Atropos was going to shake Sadie's sisters hand. But still this was a very enjoyable read book. Looking forward to the next book. Oh I forgot. The epilogue was fantastic.
Every book in this series has been a can't put it down one!! A fantastic world to explore, wonderful characters and unique powers and magic!! The mixture of science and magic is done flawlessly and the layers to the storyjustfeed the imagination even more!! A definite must read!!
With the exception of one delve, this is really more of support group therapy than advancement. Overall, this reads like a long interlude. The characters are still interesting but book 5 will possibly be the final book i read if the story continues to meander.
This book hit me like a thunderclap in the best possible way. It’s the rare kind of story that makes you fall in love with a found-family trio and keeps you flipping pages like your life depends on it. Atropose was alot more stable, ben more self sure and Sadie only corny and not a nympho. Im looking forward to the next story arc.
Enjoyed the series so far. Nice mix of romance, drama and action. The game play fantasy is not overdrawn and let's the characters developed nicely. Only reason not 4/5 stars is all the emotional abuse some of the characters have to overcome. It's a bit heavy for me, as the rest is light/heartwarming.
This was a great addition to the series. I loved matt and aster...not sure if you are throwing them in from path of ascension by c mantis or just the names either way i like to think they are from their brief missed opportunities visions they had...love the series you are writing
Another book is done and I'm dragged more into this story. I'm hoping to see more of the universe behind this story now that they finally are stepping away from an academy scene. Looking forward to the next book and hoping it come back around faster.
So no spoilers, Its a solid a solid ending to this block of the series and shows the tumultuous and brave scenarios that we love from the series and daniel schinhofen. Can't wait for the next.
The tale continues with the final challenge of the academy. Followed by a graduation fraught with family drama. The steady character growth, well developed relationships, and likeable cast kept me engaged in even the quiet parts of the story. Recommended.
that was one heck of a good read. It was a heck of a ride start to finish, the characters are coming along great and the story is the usual top notch ,looking forward to reading the next book in the series
The fourth book continues the amazing story and character development. Thank you for the story Daniel. This book brings many of the storylines to a satisfying conclusion while also setting up for the future. Looking forward to the next book!
Another great book from Daniel. Ben and his team progress further, and things do not go according to plan, but they come out stronger for it. The book does have an awesome cameo to another popular series. It is great to see Aster (and Matt) make an appearance.
Another book in a series I really enjoy. The beginning of the book was great with the delve and all of its excitement, but the second half was good character development and SoL story time. Can't wait for the next book and the off world adventures.
Good transition book from school to real world. It solidified the relationships and set the stage for the next act of the series. Now I have to wait for the next book when I hope to see more revealed about the origins of the main character. Can't wait.
