Used this for our cross-country move in 1999, another house move in 2006, and even a couple office relocations that I managed. The humor is a little goofy, but not totally unwelcome at a stressful time. Super helpful for knowing/remembering all the little details needed for a successful move.

I'm normally not a fan of XXX for Dummies or The Complete Idiots Guide to XXX books, but there aren't exactly a wealth of books on this subject. Although the book itself is somewhat dated (1998) and its attempts at humor are both relentless and heavy-handed, it does have a fair amount of useful information, so I don’t feel as if I completely wasted my time.

Really should be retitled; most of the book is about how to pack various items without breaking them. If that's what you're looking for, this is a very useful handbook.

Unfortunately this book needs an update. It's talk about outdated technologies and housing markets of old is not helpful. It does have some good advice overall
