A dramatic love triangle between a wedding photographer, a wedding videographer, and a best man. --- I'm Skyla Banes. I'm a wedding photographer and social media influencer who was left at the altar last June. My best friend and wedding videographer, Cam Dawson, was the best man. When I moved from the pan handle of Florida to Southern California to get away from my ex and all the memories of my happily-ever-after disaster, Cam surprised me by moving too.
He livestreams at every wedding with me and we've become known as the wedding photo and video dream team. I like Cam a lot, but our entire business strategy is built on our friendship so I won't make a move until he does.
And then I meet Hayden Black--the best man at a wedding Cam and I are both working at. Our paths cross again a year later and we end up unexpectedly sleeping under the same roof! All while Cam and I are working alongside together and getting ready for a six week work trip abroad for Happily-Ever-After magazine.
Hayden has a hard time trusting me with Cam once he finds out we kissed before he and I started dating. Add in that Entertainment News Podcast is constantly stirring drama up about me and followers tag me in things while making assumptions about my love life.
Drama. Romance. More Drama. More Romance. Will I end up in the arms of my best friend or my best man? ---
Reviews from Beta
"Skyla, in my own words, is a beautifully determination driven spitfire. She has her princess moments, but can definitely handle her own, no questions asked. She was a super easy to love and relate to character from the beginning!"
"I loved the banter!"
"This one differs by being the most tastefully written high suspense romance book I have personally ever read."
"The chapter before the second half... it was an unexpected turn and it was written with such hope and pain that I can still feel his heartbreak days later."
Written by Award Winning, Wedding Photographer, Sara Rieth who has photographed over 300 love stories since 2012.
As a wedding photographer for over fifteen years, my romance novels take a different approach. I use inspiration from all of the different love languages and body languages I witness. The conversations, the interactions, the travels, the venues. I use my real life experience to create fictional characters who are relatable, believable, and will leave you feeling a sense of hope inside.
I classify my writing as between Hallmark Christmas cutesy and smut.
I'm on a mission to provide readers with beautifully written sensuality that makes them yearn for a different kind of romance than what our world wants us to chase after.
The world is messy and none of us are perfect. For me, romance is about showcasing the hope that comes after the hurt, the bad choices we make, the healing from the heartbreak. It's about the love the couples have for one another that makes them fight to be a better person or to never give up on the one they're meant to be with.
And trust me when I say this, men ARE hopeless romantics. They just need to know what we need from them and need guidance because again, the world taught them to be something they were never supposed to be. Men are our protectors, hard workers, providers. They live to serve. Literally. Even in the smallest, simplest of ways.
My husband makes sure my coffee is brewed before I wake up. Guess what's featured in Photographing the Best Man? Hayden and Cam both make Skyla coffee. Is it a simple gesture? Yes. But does it make a woman feel appreciated before she starts her busy day? Yes!
So if you're looking for a realistic romance story, you've come to the right place.
Photographing the Best Man is now available on Amazon. My Forever Dance Partner is coming in 2026! *New Book that's title isn't disclosed yet* coming in 2026!
This book is very well written. Keeps you wanting more! I sincerely cannot wait for this author to release more! If you are looking for a good love triangle and some fun drama, this is the book for you.
Hi everyone! I'm the author of Photographing the Best Man. Without giving any spoilers away, expect drama. Expect twists. Be ready to laugh along with the characters, cry silently and feel a sense of hope that fate always has something up its sleeves. As a wedding photographer myself, I used inspiration from my travels, the venues I worked at, and the love languages I witnessed, to give it a real life element a reader can place themselves in. It is a love triangle between a photographer, a videographer and a best man. The book is split in two halves to help set a timeline as well. This book falls in between what I would call Hallmark Christmas Goodness and Smut. The heat is kept at PG-13 movie style and the drama may cause readers to feel emotional.
