Sometimes romantic fantasy can just come across as silly. The heroine in bed with a cold and the hero dropping by in a helicopter? Ugh. Cheesy. Or maybe I didn't warm to the hero because he clearly didn't like gay people. If he was a "real" man, he wouldn't feel threatened at all!
