Due to the passing of her owner, Trini, a plucky three-legged springer spaniel, suddenly loses her home. In order to survive, she sets out on a journey to find another home. Along the way she has adventures and overcomes obstacles. Trini's courage and persistence in her quest shows that hard times can be endured and conquered with humor, determination and a little help from those who rescue the abandoned.
A sweet story about an Springer Spaniel dog who was born with a handicap but that doesn’t not stop her from having many adventures. It is aimed toward children’s reading but I enjoyed it as an adult because I once raised and dearly loved a Springer Spaniel we named Penny.
Quick, easy read and one that I think my daughter will enjoy. The writing didn't seem to flow for me and I was originally rating it a 3-3.5. However, when I got to the end and realized the book is based on a real dog and saw all the cute pictures of Max, Trini, Annie and Tak it won me over to a 4. I love that the author is writing about her dogs and her experience. I will definitely look up more Max and Annie books.
