I thought my life was fairly boring…until I died. Now death—that’s fucking boring. At least it is when you’re trapped inside the same four walls day in and day out for half a century and counting. Sometimes the people who live in my house are entertaining, but it’s been vacant for months…that is, until now.
I have no idea who she is, but we’re drawn to each other like moths to a flame. When she touches me, I feel it! Our connection breathes life into me, and I’ll do anything to keep her. Anything.
Trissa
Dead parents? Check. Crippling anxiety with a debilitating fear of vehicles, and a butt-load of unresolved trauma? Check. Douchebag ex-boyfriend? Check. Forced to live in a giant Victorian house haunted by a hot ghost who I plan to ride until the sunsets (and then do it again)? Check!
A few slight problems, though. To get my happily ever after, I have to unveil my ghost, uncover a magical conspiracy, and confront our pasts. I’m not worried… I can be very persuasive.
This steamy paranormal romance follows Trissa Wilde, a young woman incapacitated by her fear of cars, who struggles to connect after the death of her parents. Freshly graduated and at risk of losing her inheritance if she doesn’t comply, she moves into a beautiful old Victorian, sight un-seen. Her quaint new home comes fully furnished—sinfully attractive ghost included! Their immediate supernatural connection allows him to become corporeal, igniting a passionate and forbidden romance that transcends the boundaries of life and death. As their bond strengthens, they work together with the help of some otherworldly friends to break the spell tethering Cian to the house…but will the cost of changing fate be worth the risks? Haunt My Halls is a moderate to high spice, effervescent erotic love story that defies the confines of the afterlife!
This was my first book for this Author and she did not disappoint!! Wow oh wow what a story!! This was such a great story it has smut with a lot of spice, ghost and lots of mayhem!! I cant wait to see what is next from Lorna!!

I think this may have been my first paranormal romance. If I'm being 100% honest I wasn't sure what I was expecting but oh my god it was so great! It was so so funny. And heartfelt. And 🌶️. And I'm already obsessed with Seth and can't wait for the next book. I was worried it might be cheesy but it wasn't at all! I don't know why I haven't tried paranormal romance before! Absolutely recommend giving this one a try.
As an adult, did you think “this is where my paranormal love comes from” while watching it?! Me too!
These book is definitely a Casper story for adults & I enjoyed every page! Cian is a golden retriever MMC & Trissa needs that. I also loved how the author brings you thru a very realistic grief process!
This rom com was so cute! Also, you can skip the spice chapter without losing anything from the story 🙌🏻
Well good lord hotness galore 🥵🥵🥵 heavy on the spice and heavy on the hottie! I love the paranormal aspect of this. It was well done and what I expected a certain book i read that was disappointing before. I adore Trissa and she accepts things maybe a little too easily but with Cian's looks I dont blame her one bit. As weird as it is to say, they work as a couple
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline, the banter, Seth, and tentacles 🔥🔥🔥.
One of the first things that draw me into a book 📖 is firstly the cover, then the dedication page. I loved the movie reference and it brought me back to my childhood. I knew from then on this book was going to be amazing.
This book seems like it would be a lot of fun. I had trouble getting past the dual POV chapters and going over what just happened from the other’s perspective. I think the author’s style is just not for me.
One of my favorite paranormal romances! It perfectly balances a cute plot with high "spice" and humor. The story follows Trissa, who moves into a new home after a miserable breakup, only to encounter Cian—an incredibly hot ghost tethered to the house for 50 years by a magical pact. There was just enough banter, & can we not forget the tentacles? I am completely obsessed with the character, Seth, and cannot wait for his story!
Didn’t know I needed ghost on human smut in my life. Apparently I do.
Haunt my halls was a light read for me that had my attention from beginning to end. The execution of the story was well done. The intertwining of main and supporting characters was done in a way that had you feeling like every single interaction was important not just filler information which I appreciated.
I can’t wait to read book 2 in the series. Book one has set the bar for the sequel.
I am quite unwell, but for the best reasons 😭😭😭 I don't even know what to do with all these feelings. Trissa is a 24 year old shut in that is literally just trying to survive. After losing her parents in a terrible accident she has become controlled by fear and can't leave the house, let alone get into a car to go somewhere if she could. When her plans change in accordance to her inheritance Trissa finds herself in the most beautiful antique house. Only issue? Her best friend says it's haunted. Not bad enough? The ghost has the hots for Trissa and can't seem to stay away. Cain was 24 when he was murdered back in the 70s. His soul is bound to his house, but not because of his violent death. Because of his best friend that was a witch and her blood magic gone bad. Or did it?
"Maybe I can be the reason he feels free." omg stop it right this instant! These two were SO cute and their stories were so heartbreakingly beautiful. I don't like the miscommunication trope and I was literally yelling to myself as I was reading because omg if you would just TALK to her sir 😤🤣 but it was needed for them to come together they way they do and for them to overcome issues that had individually. I absolutely love the backstory and the connection they were unaware they had. The action at the end was definitely unexpected and had me in tears but the end made it completely worth it 😩 I am SO pumped for Seth's story and I really hope Ollie plays a big role in it too! Then maybe if we're lucky we'll get Gabbi and her Chupacabra's story too! 😂🤞
I love when a story has a lot of emotional stuff going on and it's balanced with pure filth. The chemistry between these two was fan worthy from the drug induced couch time all the way through to the ecto-vines 🥵🥵🥵
My goodness! Not for a second did I think this book would draw me in as quickly as it did.
I fell in love with Trissa (the FMC) instantly, she’s very real and relatable, a curvy woman with some trauma, super likeable. And as soon as we met Cian (the MMC) I fell in love with him as well.
This is a good romance story, very readable, very bingeable, with a decent amount of spice for the amount of pages in the book. When we got to the tentacles, well let’s just say that was something I didn’t expect I’d enjoy reading about. Turns out I did. Very muchly so. But let’s not get into what I do and don’t enjoy.
This book was what I’m calling a dual POV, as for the majority of the book, it is just from Trissa and Cian’s perspectives. But there are a couple of chapters written from other characters’ perspectives. And that made for quite a fun read.
The other characters in this book are great, Gabbi was a brilliant friend, but Seth, oh my goodness the humour he added to this book! Fantastic. On multiple occasions I would find myself explaining to my husband what I was giggling at, and it was something Seth had said or done. His personality is great.
Overall, I loved it. The writing style was good, nice and easy to read, and as I previously mentioned, it was written in a way that makes it super easy to binge. I read 50% of the book in a couple of hours and then had to purposely slow myself down so it lasted another couple of days as I didn’t want it to be over in a day.
I look forward to more from Lorna Grimm, which is good because her next book, Reap for Romance is out 28th July and I know I’m going to be all over that.
I picked up Haunt My Halls expecting a fun paranormal romance and ended up getting so much more.
Imagine Casper all grown up, except he’s ridiculously attractive, morally questionable, and definitely not friendly in the PG sense. The moment I realized the story was giving major “Can I keep you?” Casper vibes, I was hooked.
Trissa inherits a haunted Victorian mansion while struggling with anxiety, grief, and a life that feels stuck. Cian is the ghost trapped inside the house, and their connection is immediate, emotional, and incredibly entertaining to watch unfold.
What surprised me most was how much I enjoyed the plot outside of the romance. The haunted house mystery, witchcraft elements, magical secrets, and supernatural intrigue gave the story real substance beyond the spice.
And speaking of the spice…
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Let’s just say if you’re a Ruby Dixon fan, you’ll probably feel right at home here. The chemistry was off the charts, the banter was fantastic, and some scenes had me laughing and blushing at the same time.
Things I loved: 👻 Haunted mansion inheritance 🖤 Ghost MMC 🔮 Witchy mystery and magic 🏚️ Gothic Victorian house ✨ Great banter 🌶️ Ruby Dixon-level spice 💕 Emotional romance
I listened to this audiobook in a single Saturday while doing housework and gardening because I simply could not stop listening.
A surprisingly satisfying paranormal romance with plenty of steam, lovable side characters, and a witchy mystery that actually delivers.
I such an enjoyable time reading Haunt my Halls. Cian is literally a ghost stuck in a mansion and he cannot leave.”, he’s dead and bored and you can just feel how lonely he is. When Trissa comes into his life, he feels a pull towards her something he hasn’t felt in such a long time.
She gets the courage to break up with her shitty boyfriend, the only reason she stuck with him for so long, was that she was afraid to end up alone. But when Cian comes into her life she feels alive again especially after all she’s been through.
They are both feeling lost and alone but they feel this undeniable connection between them and the sizzling heat between them that builds throughout the story🔥. Cian loves everything about her, she makes him feel alive again 💕💕
And when past secrets are revealed, the reason why Trissa ended up moving into Cian’s house that fate was bringing them together, she might be reason to break his curse.
From the moment I read the first chapter I was hooked, this was such an enjoyable read from the plot, the characters, it’s spicy, smutty, it has humour , the witty banter between the characters, I love how Trissa knew she wanted Cian and how she made him feel alive and Cian he wants to keep her and to fulfill all her fantasies 😉,I love the elements of the occult and magic, it’s definitely a must read.
Picture Casper but make him older, hotter, and give him the ability to make ectoplasm tentacles.
wow.... you know, I went in not fully sure what to expect, I had only seen the artwork and knew the tropes. And let me say, I'm so glad that I picked up this book!
Like I said I wasn't fully sure what to expect. Human x ghost with some ectoplasm tentacles? Yup thats gonna get added to my tbr immediately lol.
Cian (our MMCO) died years ago and is trapped in a house when Trissa (our FMC) moves in because if she doesn't live there for 6 months? well she looses her inheritance. Trissa is also dealing with anxiety and the unresolved trauma of losing her parents. And with her suddenly moved in, much to Cian's surprise he can suddenly turn corporeal for unknown reasons!
This is a story that was funny and spicy, yet serious at times. I came for the romance and stayed for everything else (and obviously the smut of course). We get backstories, side characters, and a plot outside of the romance aspect of things.... although the spice was spicy 😉.
I am so excited for Seth's story in Reap for Romance!
**ARC Review** This book gave me so much more than what thought I wanted/needed in a paranormal spicy romance! Trissa, the FMC, was someone who touched my heart and soul from the beginning. She’s a tough cookie even with her own insecurities and phobias. I love her spunk. Who else can move into a haunted house and not run screaming from a face to face encounter with a ghost, albeit a very handsome one! Cian is trapped in the house with not much to do except watch the people who move in and out of his house, that is until Trissa. I loved watching him grow as a spirit. And try out some new abilities. I will never be able to think of tentacles without blushing! Lorna Grimm wrote a beautiful masterpiece. It is very spice heavy but in a very unique and exciting way. I was excited to get into a Casper retelling and fell in love with the characters - Even the side kicks. I really need to learn more about Seth, Ollie and Gabby.
Haunt My Halls is the first book in the ismet Falls series of interconnected standalones.
The story was cute, with really low stakes and highly focused on the romantic and spicy side of the relationship. There's a bit of plot here and there, to keep things a bit more interesting.
The plot, however, gives way pretty quickly to the spice, and while I'm all for hot smutty reads, but introducing a plot and then leaving things all up in the air makes for a slightly unfinished vibe to the story. We get a HEA, but you close the book and start to think about all the stuff that where there at the start of the story but never got mentioned again.
Still, this was a funny and steamy quick read, with strong found family vibes and a nice paranormal take on the characters. We have already been introduced to MMC of the next novel in the series, and I'm happy to go see what will happen.
I honestly didn't expect Haunt My Halls to pull me in as quickly as it did, but I was hooked from the first chapter. Trissa was so easy to love, she's relatable, funny, and carrying her own emotional scars, while Cian completely stole my heart as this lonely ghost trapped in a mansion, desperate for something more than the endless loneliness he'd known for so long. Their connection felt natural and full of chemistry, with plenty of witty banter, humour, and just the right amount of spice, and yes... even the tentacles somehow worked far better than I ever expected. I loved the supporting cast too, especially Seth, who had me laughing out loud more than once, and the little twists surrounding Cian's past and Trissa's arrival made it feel like fate had been quietly bringing them together all along. It was funny, emotional, magical, and surprisingly heartfelt, and by the end I couldn't stop smiling.
After a miserable car ride with her a$$hole ex-boyfriend, Trissa arrives at her new home. Not expecting much, she can't believe her luck when an incredibly hot ghost shows up within the first hour of her arrival. Maybe being stuck there for the foreseeable future isn't going to be so bad.
Cian has been trapped as a ghost in this house for the past 50 years. Tethered by a magical pact he can't escape, he has nothing to do but contend with a string of subpar human roommates. That's until Trissa shows up and gives him a reason to manifest.
Haunt My Halls is a sweet and spicy paranormal romance novella. It's heavy on the spice with a cute plot to carry it along and bring our MCs together. I recommend this book to anyone who prefers their ghostly visitors h0rny rather than vengeful
Trissa and Cian are two very interesting characters. You would think they wouldn’t mesh but they are simply a perfect fit.
This book is so spicy hot, tentacles 🥵 say no more, and the way they worship each others bodies is delicious!
The ending felt a little rushed and the whole thing with Kyle didn’t really make sense to me, he shouldn’t have been brought back but I also see why it had to happen to carry the story along I just wish that it could’ve been done without him.
Overall I really enjoyed it! Thank you to Lorna Grimm for giving me the opportunity to try out your work! Definitely will be reading more as they come in the future… VERY excited about who book 2 is going to be about! (Probably my fave character)

Ectoplasm tentacles. That’s really all the review I need to write to explain my rating, but let me expand.
This made me happy. It was a glorious love story between a ghost and a human with a fabulous cast of side characters, human and paranormal, and an evil ex who is comically not self-aware and I delighted in his downfall.
This is not a short smutty novella. It’s a fully fleshed book with an established magic system, character backstories, a well crafted world and deep emotional romantic, friendship and familial connections. It also has EXCELLENT spice.
I absolutely flew through this book and I had a great time doing it. I will absolutely read the next one.
This book was so much fun! It was cute, funny, and spicy and filled with paranormal chaos! I had such a fun time reading this, I could not put it down, I read it in a day! The storyline was unique and was the perfect amount of spice, humor and spooky vibes and tentacles!
Trissa and Cian were everything! I loved everything about their romance! Their chemistry and banter were amazing, and I loved watching their relationship unfold. All of the characters were well developed and loveable! I am so excited to see how Seth's story unfolds in Reap for Romance! I don't think I ever want this world to end!
I connected immediately with the FMC (Trissa). She’s a tough, curvy, beautiful soul with trauma. She’s all around someone I would totally want to be friends with. The second the main characters meet is explosive! The internal conversations of both Trisha and Cian (MMC) are so relatable!! I love the writing style. The author keeps you interested while giving backstory and getting to know the characters. I truly loved this book. I finished it in a day! The story was superb and unique. The spice was on point. Overall amazing!
Trissa is the FMC. She has a lot of phobias since her parents died in a car accident. Cian is the MMC and a ghost. He died 50 years ago. His friend was a witch and performed blood magic to save his soul.
Trissa moves into Cian’s house. He can touch and talk to her. Gabbi (her best friend) tries to help her see her worth. Seth (his best friend) helps them with the blood magic. I don’t want to spoil anything but I had so much fun reading this book. I cannot wait for Seth’s book.
Lots of ghost sex. Somno Occult
What more can you ask for? Tentacles maybe. Poor Sybil and her cannoli.
This book hooked me from the first few pages and honestly ended up being so much more than I thought it would. I loved the story so much and it does not skimp on the sexiness while also telling such a good story. I absolutely cannot wait for more from this author and to read more about my new fictional beu Seth. This story is like grown up Casper, HBO edition and I couldn't get enough. definitely would highly recommend!!!
I love a good book with some smut and spice, but what if I told you this one had a puzzle to solve throughout. Clues are getting dropped left and right for Trissa and Cian. There’s one question we have to solve: How do we break the spell Cian is under? Bound by blood magic, Cian is locked to his childhood home. Trissa was deeded the house, together they’re figuring out how to set him free while falling in love with each other. (Imagine Danny Phantom)😍😍
Cute, spicy, and laugh out loud funny! I love our fmc, she's mature for her age, curvy, and so so relatable! I picked this book up and couldn't put it down. I want to meet Trisha and be Trissa (I know curse, mental issues, etc) but still she's lovable!
This story gave me enough spice to make me blush but also enough plot to really have me hooked. I love finding out how Trissa and her hottie ghost Cain are tied together!
If you love paranormal and a touch of tentacle p*rn put this at the top of your list 😉
Okay, so the writing is genuinely good, BUT some of the spicy scenes had me experiencing severe secondhand embarrassment 😭💀 With writing this good, surely there were better words available, y’all 😭
That being said… this book is SO much fun. The humour? The banter? Absolutely top tier. I was cackling the entire time 😭😂 And not Cian and Casper getting played I’m screaming. He was like a lost puppy lmao. Also he was pathetically down which earns brownie points y’all.
The dialogue is ridiculously witty, and honestly? I forgive almost everything I didn’t like because this book completely flipped the script. What started as me side eyeing it turned into a full-blown 5 star read.
I actually ended up loving the plot and the story line. It’s VERY heavy on smut but eventually it sucks you into the plot and lives of the characters. The middle of the book had me in a chokehold before finding out what happened. I don’t want to spoil it too much in the review and ruin it. I am shocked of how much I actually liked the grim reaper character and can’t wait to follow his story.
ARC read: I absolutely loved this book it is a Casper retelling. This book is absolutely amazing i finished it in one day. It’s so addictive i couldn’t put down. I was laughing, I got mad/ annoyed by a certain character. The banter was everything. The spice in this book was amazing it had me fanning myself. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.
