The original reincarnation romance fantasy and historical romance phenomenon continues in From a Knight to a Lady Volume 2 (Limited).

Whispers of madness trail Lucifela, branding her as unstable while she wrestles with a past that refuses to release its hold. Yet beneath the slander lies a more harrowing truth—her sworn enemy, Khalid, lives on under a new Duke Louis Luke of Jansgar. Driven by vengeance, this strong heroine steels her will to reclaim her martial strength and wield her power against those who orchestrated her ultimate betrayal.

But the imperial palace is a nest of vipers—the princes plot in the shadows, the Crown Prince preys upon the weak, and deception lurks behind every courteous smile. Navigating dense royal court intrigue, Lucifela must safeguard her identity while balancing a highly charged, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers tension. Just when she begins to stand proud as the true daughter of House Aydin, a cruel trap is ignited in the frozen mountains. Hunted, surrounded, and with only fleeting allies by her side… will she escape the snare, or fall into the hands of those who covet her life?

Regression meets body-swapping in this emotionally charged, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers webcomic tale. A fallen knight awakens in the body of a noble lady within enemy territory, setting the stage for revenge, identity conflict, and a romance layered with tension and longing. Amassing over 231 million readers worldwide, the stakes are higher than ever—will her struggle for survival ignite her spectacular rise, or seal her final downfall?

Review to be adjusted once series is complete

I wanted to try something by the new publisher Crossed Hearts and ended up going with this one. Web comics aren't actually my favourite; I prefer black and white as the full colour ones tend to look very simplified. One reason why I chose this one was because I really like the art style and the previews looked like the inside art keeps a pretty high level. It did not disappoint! While not exactly on par with black and white comics, I really think the art was beautiful throughout.

Story-wise, I went into this nearly blind but I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. In a fictional European-esque setting, two kingdoms are at war with each other. Our main character Estelle is a female general in Ersha who is betrayed by ones loyal to her. After being killed, she wakes up again a few years later in the body of a noble woman from the enemy kingdom. She learns that Ersha has lost the war and finds herself living a life of a girl whose lifestyle is entirely different of her own. On top of that, she finds herself engaged to the son of the very man who brought upon Ersha's downfall.

Her new body's former life seems to have been one of frivolities and plenty of bad reputation. What I appreciated is how Estelle adapts - she begins working on her strength as well as learning proper etiquette - she realises both can be a weapon and plans on making the best of it. Her ultimate goal is revenge on those who have wronged her but also to find what remains of those loyal to Ersha.

The romance seems like it will be very slow burn - both characters don't want this engagement and openly show their dislike of the other, albeit both have very different reasons. It was also nice to see Estelle realising that noble ladies aren't all silly and pampered women and who also just play within the confines left to them. There seems to be a lot of political intrigue, interesting family, friendship and romance dynamics. This looks like a very promising start to an engaging series.

This is such a mysterious and intriguing manhwa.
Our fiance Duke, Zed, is starting to fall for Luci and it's adorable, but our girl is steadily set on revenge and getting stronger, so she's mainly stressed out and on the verge of a mental breakdown (with good reason).
This one is strong with the political intrigue and so far we are in the same boat as Luci, I.e. everything is on fire, and we have no idea how it started, who is adding fuel vs helping put it out, or how she can solve it.
Now I have to wait for Volume 3!

Side note: Reviewing the English physical edition, and some speech bubbles are left blank for some reason.
