Ren I’ve played by the rules my whole life, only to get fired at the peak of my career and find out my boyfriend is married.
Well, if this is what being good gets me . . .
Roman I haven’t always done everything right, but I became irrevocably ruined when the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen told me she wanted to try being bad.
Her world is falling apart, and his job will always come first.
But she gives him a proposal he can’t no numbers, no strings, just one night.
Until Roman ends up saving her from danger on a drunken walk home and Ren insists on thanking him.
But this time, with just days before Christmas and nothing left to lose, Ren has a different proposal . . .
Five days, free use, and the fight not to catch feelings.
rounding up to 4 ⭐️ because i'm really shocked at how much i liked it! lmaoo don’t ask. i read this last night just because i want to get a couple novellas in before the year ends! i didn’t have high expectations because usually novellas tend to get low ratings from me due to pacing and everything. ik it’s expected for things to be insta-lusty and bordering insta-love when it’s barely over 100-200 pages. however, i was pleasantly surprised with this? it was a fun little read and oddly enough, the pace at which the relationship progressed was fine with me! it wasn’t just smut lol but like smut with a plot? which i enjoyed far more than just introducing me to two characters —> they have sex —> next thing you know we’re already in love 😭 and i’m always down to read about a shitty ex getting put in their place! 🙂↕️
If you're in the mood to unwrap something hot and filthy this Christmas, this novella is your naughty little gift. 😉😏
Roman and Ren's chemistry is instant and explosive, the kind that feels inevitable. It's short, sweet, and sizzling, proving that the best presents come in small, very steamy packages.
After Ren's world falls apart, Roman steps in as the broody protector we can't resist. Their connection burns with heat and heart, balancing spice with genuine emotion. Summer O'Toole delivers a perfect mix of grumpy-sunshine tension, holiday charm, and unapologetic heat that keeps you hooked from the first page to the last.
Cameos from the Fox Family crew add a cozy touch for fans, but this story easily stands on its own. Roman's filthy mouth and soft heart paired with Ren's bold, take-what-she-wants energy make this a festive fantasy worth indulging in. Flirty, filthy, and unexpectedly tender, it's the perfect read to curl up with on a cold night.

Thank you, Summer O’Toole & The Smuthood, for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
This was a fast-paced, smutty Christmastime novella centered around a woman who takes her life back after finding out her boyfriend is married, and a man who has wanted her for a while.
I know this novella is part of a larger series—which I haven’t read—I actually think quite a bit of the MMC’s storyline and interactions with his friends/colleagues fell flat for me because I didn’t know those characters, but the way they’re presented made me feel like I was ~missing something~.
I will say at one point Unwrap Me turns into something more plot-centered, but it was underdeveloped so I didn’t care for it much? I ultimately would’ve appreciated this more if it was just a smutty, sexually-empowering fun time instead of squeezing in a smidge of plot at the end.
I definitely recommend the audiobook for this; the narrators were perfectly-suited for the characters. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series as I overall enjoyed Summer O’Toole’s writing style (and the author’s note at the beginning)!

The Fox Family series is one of my all time favorite mafia series and I was so excited to return their world. This is everything you want in a spicy holiday novella and more. Summer delivers spice, kink exploration, and sweet romance. Ren is wallowing in the giraffe barn during her gala after finding out her boyfriend is married and they’re eliminating her position, when she meets Cash and Harlow Fox. And Cash’s bodyguard Roman. Ren and Roman’s one night of being bad turns into five more days and an agreement to free use. For five days Ren agrees to let Roman do whatever he wants with her body. And man…does he ever. They both try to keep things superficial but that becomes impossible when they start to develop feelings. I loved when they when thrifting for ornaments for Roman’s tree and then whent ice skating. The plot is the relationship and the feelings they develop for each other.
🚩Be sure to read the author’s note and content warnings before reading.

A Few Favorite Quotes: “Now, I’m going to finger f* €k your perfect c* nt, and the only thing that is going to stop me from making you come is your safeword.”
“You’re gonna ride my c* €k and make me come without making a sound. Can you do that for me?”
“I didn’t drink coffee regularly until three months ago.” She smiles and nods knowingly. “Is that when you first had June Bug’s? I swear it’s the best in the city.” “No. That’s when I first saw you.”
“You’re everything I never knew I needed.” “You’re more than everything I thought I deserved.”
While this book was heavy on the smut it also had a lot of heart. I expected this book to be much lighter on the plot and I was pleasantly surprised that it was not. We were given the opportunity to learn who Ren and Roman were at their core.
Ren Calloway – Age 30 Grew up in a hippie commune Graduated with Accounting degree Events Director for the June Harbor Zoo development office In charge of the Zoo’s festival of lights (event is a career highlight) In a relationship with the zoo vet Loves Christmas Loves Vanilla Iced Lattes
Roman Ford- Age 47 Head of security for Cash Fox (mob boss) Very close with the Fox family Single (his last girlfriend left him due to the nature of his work) Not a big fan of Christmas Didn’t drink coffee regularly until he noticed a gorgeous blonde that frequented the coffee shop across the street from Fox headquarters
Ren meets Roman during the Zoo festival of lights after a day when she found out the her parents are not coming for Christmas, her boyfriend is not who she thought he was, and her position at the zoo is being eliminated plus she’s a bit tipsy from washing down her feelings.
She is introduced to Roman by Cash & Harlow Fox. She immediately recognizes him from the June Bug Café that she frequents every morning on the way work.
There’s immediate attraction on both sides. She uses her liquid courage to proposition Roman. She has one condition before their roll in the hay (literally) – one night, no strings, no sharing of cell numbers.
That condition goes out the window after a few turns of events.
I loved this Christmas novella. The banter was chef’s kiss. The smut was steaming. Great side characters.
This book has definitely piqued my interest in the Fox family series.
Thank you to Summer O’Toole and The Smuthood for the opportunity to read and review an advanced reader copy and the introduction to a “new to me” author.
TROPES: 🎄Strangers To Lovers 🎄Christmas Novella 🎄Found Family 🎄Curvy FMC 🎄Age Gap 🎄 Smutty
“You can be bad all you want, as long as you’re a good girl for me.”
Let’s get one thing straight, we aren’t here for straight plot or cutesy romance, we’re here for a hot and heavy Christmas romance with some free use sprinkled in for good measure. Self described by Summer OToole as 80% smut, she claimed and she delivered. But I ate it up. Smut heavy all wrapped up in a neat little bow just like our curvy FMC.
“If you want to be a really good girl for me, you’ll get on your knees and let me paint that pretty tongue.”
We’ve what we’ve seen from Roman across the Fox brothers books, this wasn’t what I expected when he’s getting down and dirty. And dirty did he get. Here, there and everywhere. There was a list and we checked it twice, it didn’t matter if it was the bedroom, kitchen or the thrift shop dressing room.
But let’s not get it twisted, this isn’t all smut and not substance. For a short roughly 200 pages, we get a fast paced romance between two people who just needed someone to understand them, no judgement just acceptance.
“I didn’t drink coffee regularly until three months ago.” “Is that when you first had June Bugs? I swear it’s the best in the city.” “No. That’s when I first saw you.”
I loved Ren as a person, she wasn’t shy to go after what she wanted but she wasn’t overly confident and overpowering with her advances or energy. She was a refreshing FMC and I’d be lying if I didn’t say having a plus size FMC wasn’t a selling point for me.
The list of Christmas novellas for your tbr is adding up and this is one of them for sure. I really enjoyed this story, it was good from beginning to end, it was never too much of anything with an ideal balance between a heavy smut plot and the general plot. Selfishly I wish it was longer.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💋 "You can be bad all you want, as long as you're a good girl for me." Forget cutesy Christmas fluff — this is not that. This is a hot cocoa meets five-alarm fire kind of holiday romance. Summer O’Toole promised 80% smut and 20% plot, and honestly? She understood the assignment and then some. I devoured every page like it was the last peppermint cookie on the plate. Roman Ford was not the man I expected from the Fox brothers’ universe — but my god, the man delivered. He’s dirty, delicious, and down bad in all the right ways (and in all the places — yes, even the thrift shop dressing room 👀). And then there’s Ren — our curvy queen, bold but soft, going after what she wants without losing her vulnerability. She’s the kind of FMC that makes you root for her and want to be her. Plus-size representation done right, and she owns it every step of the way. This novella may be short (around 200 pages), but it packs heat, heart, and just enough festive chaos to make your TBR feel spicy and bright. Roman and Ren’s chemistry? Criminally good. Their banter, their tension, the way they look at each other like they’re already unwrapping gifts — chef’s kiss. Oh, and bonus points for that NSFW artwork 👀🔥 because… yes, ma’am, that was the visual I didn’t know I needed. If you’re looking for: 🎄 Strangers to lovers 🔥 Age gap 💋 Curvy FMC 💞 Found family 😈 Enough spice to melt the snow Then A Very Foxy Christmas (and this novella) is absolutely the move. Final thoughts: A fun, filthy, feel-good holiday treat. I read it in one sitting, kicked my feet, giggled like an idiot, and now I’m fully feral to re read the Fox brothers again! Thank you, Summer O’Toole, for the ARC — I’ll be naughty and nice if it means I get more like this.
This was a cute Christmas read where the plot matched the spice perfectly. You’ve got an MMC deep in the business of illegal things who doesn’t want to pull someone into his world but resisting Ren and her beauty wasn’t an option. I’ll definitely be looking at changing rooms a little differently after this one.
A short novella, I finished it in a few hours, but it was great!! I love that the author straight up tells us it’s all smut and no plot because I appreciate the appropriate setting of expectations! And there actually was a little plot in here!! Also I love the little mafia vibe without it being overbearing or taking over the story. Adds a bit of mystery to our MMC too which I like.
Ren and Roman are so cute! The strangers to lovers vibe is adorable, and Roman is super sweet but also fine affff. I love some curvy fmc representation and the way she is worshipped is hotttt. Like yes please! Yum! Also a Christmas lingerie set as a gift? A hundred percent yes.
Their spicy scenes are hot without being overly graphic (don’t get me wrong I love alllll the details) but the way this was written is really tasteful and I really enjoyed it! The free use kink was super hot without being distasteful, which I really liked because her pleasure was his pleasure which was yummy. Would definitely read this again if I need some cute Christmas smut 🤭
This author has a couple sections where she gives you character art which is delish! She also has a playlist and little footnotes of what to play and when, which makes it a super fun read! I’m gonna have to check out more of this authors work because I really liked her writing!

Move over cutesy plot driven holiday romances and let this fun smut filled holiday novella rock your world! Summer O’Toole promised 80% smut and 20% plot and she definitely delivered!
In the same night Ren is hosting a major work endeavor, she learns her boyfriend is married and her job position no longer exists! Heartbroken & tipsy she stumbles into Roman, an ex-special forces turned mobster and sparks fly. Ren decides being good got her no where so why not be bad with Roman in a fun five days, free use, and the fight not to catch feelings manner!
I loved the characters and their chemistry was off the charts!
Bonus points for all the NSFW artwork we got to go along with the book, that was the visual I didn’t know I needed but definitely appreciated! 🔥This made it all the more fun to read!!
Really want to go and read the connecting series now! Thank you @thesmuthood and @summerotoole for the eARC. ❤️
This novella was absolutely fantastically spicy! I loved all of it 🥵🫠 Rens the good girl. Always doing the right thing putting everyone before herself and then she loses her bf and her job on the most important night of her career and something snaps. She randomly meets the largest sexiest man, Roman. One night, no names. Well now they both want more and agree to 5 days of anything goes 😏 🔥 and 5 days turns into so much more! Wow this was such a good one! Packed full of spice and so delicious 🤤 loved it🖤
I enjoyed this one. The author did state that we didn’t need to read her other series, that has some of the side characters in this story. I do think it would have helped reading the other series first to learn more about Cash, Harlow and Rowan. I really loved Ren and Rowan together. Their chemistry was off the charts. I could have used more plot, but the author did warn us in the beginning it was 80% smut and 20% plot. The spice was really good though.
There’s a warning at the beginning that this is all spice and little plot, and oh boy that’s not wrong. Centred on a free use agreement, you’ve also got somno, degradation mixed with praise, public play, and so much more.
Roman was the brooding mob enforcer who never put anything above his job until her, and Ren, well she was a good girl with a fiesty side who just needed someone to be good for who is good to her. And damn she got it.
If you want a little (well a lot) smut to spice up your Christmas reads, definitely give this a read!
Thank you to the author and Smuthood PR for the eARC
Roman and Ren had chemistry in spades and we were able to get little snippets of their story unfolding and how their worlds were just meant to collide!
This was short and sweet but not oh boy did it pack some heat! We love a man who is so down bad for his woman that he shows her exactly what she’s been missing! and what better way to one up the asshat of an ex than to make sure he knows it too! Good op Ren for upgrading!

I'm obsessed! I need more of this kind of holiday novella!
I loved Ren and Roman.. how they came together felt unique. I know Ren was going through it at the beginning if the book, but to get caught tipsy somewhere at the zoo had me cracking up!
I was definitely down for all the spice (free use.. say less) and loved how it was added to the story! I think my favorite part of the story was just seeing how hard both of the characters fell and how you could tell at the beginning a short term arrangement would never be enough.
I haven't read the Fox Family books yet, but I am definitely bumping them up my TBR after this little taste. I'm hooked on Summer's writing and can't wait for more.
This was my first time reading anything by Summer O’Toole, and honestly, I really enjoyed this story! It was lighthearted but cozy, festive, spicy, and just the perfect balance of naughty and nice, hehe! Everything I want in a Christmas novella. At under 200 pages, it was a quick and easy read, but it still managed to feel full and satisfying. The author mentioned this would be 80% spice and 0% conflict or plot, and that’s exactly what it was … but in the best way possible.
I adored the characters and how natural their connection felt. There was something so sweet and genuine about the way their relationship unfolded. it really gave off that fated, “meant-to-be” kind of energy. I loved that they finally got their moment to talk, connect, and fall for each other after admiring one another from afar for so long. Their chemistry was everything - warm, flirty, spicy, and so easy to fall into. I also really liked that they both wanted more time together, even if they were too nervous to admit it at first. You could just tell they were it for each other.
For Ren (Serenity), she was such a funny, open, loving, and genuine sweetheart . the type of character you can’t help but root for. I naturally gravitated toward her energy and personality. After everything she went through, she still managed to stay positive and true to herself, which I really admired. I loved that she wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted and that just happened to be Roman.
As for Roman, I adored him. Even though he’s older, he has this soft, shy side that makes him so endearing, but he’s also confident, protective, and intentional when it comes to Ren. I loved his strong work ethic : ) how serious he is about his job and protecting the people he cares about. But what made me love him even more was how Ren brought out his softer, more relaxed side. She gave him that space to slow down and actually enjoy life for once.
The spice in this book was so damn good! I loved the praise, the trust, and the way they communicated throughout those moments. It wasn’t just physical; it was emotional and intimate too. You could feel how much they cared about making each other feel good, not just in the bedroom but mentally and emotionally as well.
I also loved how their “five-day arrangement” slowly turned into something deeper. Neither of them wanted it to end, but they were both too nervous to be the first to admit it. Watching that tension build as they kept adding “just one more day” was everything. Their chemistry was undeniable from the very start ~ from that first coffee shop moment to every scene after, it truly felt like fate bringing them together.
The plot itself was simple, but it worked perfectly for the story. I loved the side characters, too :) the found family and friendship vibes were so heartwarming and really added that extra cozy touch.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC of Unwrap Me by the one and only Summer O’Toole, and let me just say — this book owns me. The moment I saw that cover? A sexy hunk, Christmas vibes, and pure sin wrapped in tinsel? Ummm, HELL YES!
I’ve devoured Summer’s Fox Family and Omega Trial series before (those Fox men still haunt my dreams 😏), so when that acceptance email landed in my inbox — not gonna lie — I screamed, cried, and did a little happy dance.
Now onto the good stuff: the smut was smutting, the spice was five-alarm, and the tension between Ren and Roman could melt the snow right off your roof. I didn’t even realize it was tied to the Fox family universe at first, but when I did? Instant serotonin boost. Those men are the definition of filthy fine.
And let’s talk about Roman. Older, powerful, and deliciously off-limits — this man is the epitome of the age-gap fantasy. He doesn’t even drink coffee, but he shows up at a coffee shop for her after one brief, unforgettable encounter. If that’s not obsession in the sexiest way possible, I don’t know what is. He’s broody, commanding, and the kind of man you’d happily call “Daddy” — no hesitation, no shame 😈
Ren’s character had me rooting for her from the start, and the chemistry between them? Explosive doesn’t even begin to cover it. Summer nailed that perfect mix of emotional depth, character growth, and downright dirty passion.
Unwrap Me is the kind of book that makes you blush, giggle, and fan yourself all at once. The forbidden age gap, the tension, the Fox-family-level spice — it’s pure, unfiltered holiday heat. I’m absolutely hooked (again), and praying Summer has more Fox-family filth coming our way soon because I am not ready to let Roman go.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — The perfect mix of naughty, nice, and so, so dirty 🎁🔥

Ren and Roman have got to be the HOTTEST couple I have read ALL YEAR LONG. THAT'S HUGE because I have read A LOT of smutty couples! But they still amazed me, mae me clinch my thighs and think how can I get that to work?
As the trope list states this is 80% smut, and it truly is. This is the perfect book to read when you need a palate cleanser, or a written version of the couples who can't stop boinking. But they make the boinking sooo much better than I thought it was going to be. I couldn't help but drool when Roman became the man to initiate everything with Ren.
Ren was the perfect quirky FMC that I love reading about! I couldn't help but giggle when she would talk about Big Ren. I loved that she was able to seperate herself from some things but be sooo present in everything else!
I salivated during every scene and couldn't help but want more! I wish this would have been a little longer but I will take what I got and run with it!

UNWRAP ME is a steamy FOX FAMILY spin-off that gives the spotlight to Roman — the side character who quietly stole hearts in Make Me and Dare Me. Don’t worry, you don’t need to have read a single Fox Family book to dive into this one.
This story overlaps with the end of Dare Me (no spoilers though!) and takes a totally different turn — darker, dirtier, and deliciously unexpected.
Ren’s life? In shambles. A cheating boyfriend, a disappearing job… and then Roman shows up, all calm confidence and sinful intent. One favor leads to another, and suddenly she’s thanking him in a way that’ll make your earbuds melt.
Roman Ford is not the man I expected from this universe — but holy hell, he delivered. Filthy, unhinged, and absolutely irresistible (yes, even in that thrift shop dressing room 👀).
🎧 Narrated by Benjamin Charles & Shiloh James — and they did not hold back. Every word. Every sigh. Pure fire. 🔥

This is everything I hoped for in a Fox Family spin-off and more. Summer O’Toole delivers a delicious blend of grumpy-sunshine, age-gap tension, and holiday magic that had me hooked from the start. Roman’s brooding intensity paired with Ren’s fiery resilience makes for a match made in heaven.
After Ren’s life implodes, she gets fired and is betrayed by her very married boyfriend, she’s done playing nice. Then walks in Roman, the morally gray protector with a soft spot for her sass. Their chemistry is H-O-T and the emotional depth between the two adds layers beyond the steam. They grow to truly care for each other, beyond their impending time limit.
When Summer says it’s like 80% smut, she isn’t lying. This is absolutely one of the spiciest holiday novellas I have read. Roman knows what he wants and it is most definitely Ren. The “free use” element creates the most delicious spice opportunity. In the shower, on the couch, in a giraffe exhibit; it doesn’t matter, they had their fun.
Cameos from past Fox Family favorites were the cherry on top, making this novella feel like a cozy reunion with old friends. So perfect for fans of mafia romance with a festive twist. This novella is short, sexy, and satisfying. I laughed, I swooned, and I may have blushed more than once. Highly recommend curling up with this one and a mug of hot cocoa!
A huge thank you to Summer O’Toole and Smuthood PR for the early copy!
When I saw that Summer was writing a spicy Christmas novella I instantly knew it was going to be incredibly HOT and boy she did not disappoint 😮💨
I sped through this, from start to finish there was angst, tension, spice, humour, insane chemistry, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments. Although this was short, there was a solid story right from the very beginning and was super easy to follow - the Cameo's of the Fox Family was also a brilliant touch, I have a special place in my heart for those men 😍 If you haven't started The Fox Family Crime Syndicate series yet, I highly recommend, but you do not need to have read these to enjoy this book.
The story starts off with the FMC, Ren, losing her job and finding out that her boyfriend is in fact married. She is introduced to the MMC, Roman, who is morally grey to a T, and they end up having a one night stand in a barn. Although Roman has never met Ren in person before, he's been consistently watching her from afar and his obsession with her has led him to adapt a few new habits along the way.
The pair are polar opposites, but they fit so magically together so much that their introduction was meant to be. They compliment each other so well and Roman is always so quick to give Ren what she needs, and Ren brings out that soft, gentle side to Roman so beautifully.
"You can be bad all you want, as long as you're a good girl for me."
"I do want you to use me. I want to give you whatever you want to take." "I want to feel dirty and desired. Used and owned, but treasured."
Summer did an absolute amazing job at portraying these characters within such a short story, it's the perfect Christmas read and even more so if you like that extra bit of spice 😉
