Her whole life, Elianna Marshall tries to break free of the hold her family has on her. She’s nothing like them and proves it each and every day. Her life is turned upside down when she finds out she’s pregnant. In her time of her need, she turns to Melijah Hall. With the help of Melijah, Elianna learns to embrace problems differently. She learns to let go of things that’s not for her. As Elianna navigates her new life, she accepts the fact that she wants Melijah in it too.
Not bad, just a little boring and missing something
I Changed for You want a bad read, it was just a little boring. The story was very basic with very little supporting characters or interaction with friends and family. For instance, Elianna was supposedly close with her cousin Skyler, but in the story they never hung out and were only around each other twice throughout the whole story. I didn’t like how Elianna was living under her parent’s thumb as a 33-year old! The other thing which I found weird about this story was the fact that as Elianna and Melijah’s relationship progressed they never discussed the future, where they would live, or even putting together the nursery. This book was just missing one basic details and happenings that are typical of two people dating and having a baby. There wasn’t even a baby shower for what was the first grandchild for Melijah and Elianna’s family. I think this one just missed on the details.
After Melijah and Elianna's one-night stand which ended up with her getting pregnant, they formed a relationship that started out in friendship for the sake of the baby but ended up being a true love affair. Feeling like an outsider in her own family, Elianna finds just what she's been looking for with Melijah. He made her feel safe and protected like her family never did. Melijah and Elianna had each other's backs. Melijah was the catalyst that Elianna needed to make changes in her life, and I loved that for her. I'm glad Elianna didn't play about her man and cut off those uppity, so-called friends with a quickness. This was a great book from beginning to end that I couldn't put down!!
Melijah and Elianna’s journey was good. 💕✨ I always enjoy a romance with light drama, and this one-night stand resulting in a pregnancy turned into an awesome read. 🤰🏾📚💖 It was interesting that Eli was in so much denial about the pregnancy at the beginning. 😅🙈 I appreciated that she told Melijah immediately instead of keeping it a secret. 🙌🏾 Melijah stepped up and made his position clear.
I didn’t care for how stuck-up and snooty her family and friends were 😒🙄—her cousin was the only down-to-earth person she had. 💗 Together, Melijah and Elianna formed an amazing bond and relationship. 🥰💞 Their chemistry was undeniable. 🔥 I thoroughly enjoyed this book. ⭐️📖😍
This book was my introduction to Ms Skye and she definitely has a new fan. This was exactly what I needed. Eli and Elijah’s story had it all and I enjoyed the ride. I loved how Elijah was open throughout the whole situation. He definitely was who Eli needed in her corner. Both her family and friends were the worst.
Nice story great storyline. Those friends of hers were a mess. Glad she finally saw their true colors. Her parents and sisters were a trip too. I honestly think they only liked Lijah because of his family but then eventually liked him as a person. All in all it was a nice read although it was only told from Eli’s POV.
The support Melijah showed Elianna from the very beginning was so refreshing. I thought this was a great story. I love how they both took a chance on love.
