Umm... where do I even start?
I think I’m the first one to post a review, unless someone else is typing theirs at this exact moment.
Slow burns usually fall into two extremes: either they drag so much you want to DNF, or they’re “slow burn” in name only and the characters are in love by page fifty.
But(hear me out) this book hits the balance perfectly. The pacing is smooth, the burn is genuine, and you never feel the urge to skim just to get to the payoff.
There’s natural tension, chemistry that builds instead of appearing on page one, banter, confusion, reflection, redemption, and a touch of spice(it's subjective, I know). And by spice, I mean longing(our MMC is a virgin🤤) rather than overt lust. It's open door-yes, but it's subtle, emotional, and effective.
What I appreciated most is that the book delivers exactly what it promises. The romance never overshadows the STEM element, and the enemies-to-lovers arc is handled with clarity and care.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a soft, cutesy enemies-to-lovers romance with a satisfying redemption arc.

As someone who has spent too much time in academic circles myself, I can say that Evadelle Night captured the mood, the environment, and the daily hustle and bustle perfectly.
The love story unfold beautifully, from snapping and trying to outdo each other, to grudging kindness, compliments and stolen glances to questioning and finally admitting their feelings. To see how the underlying animosity between them changes... *sigh* loved it!
Only complaint, it was too short and I would have loved seeing a bit more about their families etc. at the end. (But then I'm the kind of girl who loves thick books and series, so take that with a grain of salt!)
The story is set in winter and around Christmas/ New Year, so it's the perfect read for right now! Go read it!
