Tempted

Rate this book
Troubled hip-hop country star Freedom Cade once broke her heart when they were teenagers. He abandoned her on the night of their prom because of choices that landed him on the wrong side of the law.

Disappointed because she believed he’d changed his hustling means of survival, she vowed never to love him again, though she carried his child.
Even created a family with his former best friend, who was there for her when Freedom chose superstardom.

For years, Jamaica Bennett put the past behind her and focused on loving her husband and family, convinced she and a baby would have only held Freedom back from his destiny.

Until a determined Freedom returns home for their class reunion, demanding to be a father to the son he swears he knew nothing about, and tempting Jamaica with what they once meant to each other and what they could be.

As Jamaica struggles to resist his allure and the blushing memories of first love, dark secrets from the past begin to tumble into the light, and vows become meant to be broken.

I want my readers to escape their realities and embark on a journey of self-exploration and love when they delve into my books. I have loved reading fiction, thrillers, and romance for years. Although my original (and still) writing interest was YA and self-help books, I received a surprise text one Valentine's Day, and wrote the very first chapter of a romance novel that day. And I became forever inspired to write contemporary and new adult romance - with a twist.

Please take a ride with me, Tiye Love and hold on to your hearts! I invite you to check out my website and join my newsletter at www.tiyelovebooks.com, and follow me on FB @Tiye Love Books, and/or on my IG @tiye28always...

Tiye!! This is my second read of yours in 2026, and you are killing it!! 🥰 Bad boy meets good girl, that turns into a love for the ages! Freedom was dealing with so much at his young age. Grief, trauma, and abuse, while raising his younger brother, AND trying to be a kid. Yes, he made some bad decisions, however, the intent was admirable. Freedom knew that with his unique talent, he could take on the world and provide for himself and Jamaica all that their hearts desired. Until.....

Jamaica was leery of giving Freedom a shot, and disappointing her father, but he won her over. They developed such a pure, and genuine love that they believed nothing could separate them. Then the unbelievable happens!

Kody was Freedom's best friend; however, one could sense the jealousy and envy that Kody held for his boy. I knew he was a bit shady, but damn to do ya boy like that! 🤬

Peace for the win! Freedom's brother Peace was the catalyst for the reunion of Freedom and Jamaica after 15 years. When their eyes met, it was if no time had passed. The feelings and love were right there. Jamaica is cooked! 🤣 The temptation to say f them vows is ringing loud, and she is not sure she can ignore them. Then the secrets, lies, and manipulations start to tumble out. Freedom and Jamaica are raw with emotion as they both learn of what was done to them, that changed the outcome of their lives! 💔 You have to stop putting me in my feelings like this ma'am! Great read! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I was tempted too

The story was so good. I was tempted to shake up this story and give Freedom a pass to treat Kody like his enemy. Freedom lost so much time with his family because of his so-called friend's actions. Jamaica was too easily taken advantage of by her so-called man. Cheat once maybe, but to allow him over and over is just not cool. Anyway, once all the dust settles Jamaica did the right thing for Jamie. The sidenote with Freedom's brother Peace being the school counselor for Jamie and his quiet struggle was well done. I was happy that Freedom was able to find his way back to his family in one piece. He deserved to sing the songs that made him happiest. That part of his story began and ended with Jamaica by his side. Tiye knows how to tell a love story.

💔🔥 A Love Worth Fighting For 🔥💔

Freedom and Jamaica’s story takes you on a powerful emotional journey. Their forbidden teenage love stirred up chaos, bringing out the worst in her family and even his best friend. Without giving away any twists, just know the drama and depth will keep you hooked! 👀✨

Fourteen years later, fate steps in—thanks to Freedom’s brother, Peace—giving them a second chance at the love they never truly let go of. ❤️⏳

They faced many obstacles and had plenty to work through, but watching them grow stronger individually and then come together was truly beautiful. 🌱💕 Their story proves that real love, no matter how delayed, is always worth it. 💫

My Favorite Fantasy...

I gotta say this one surpassed One Week as my favorite release in this series. Jamaica and Freedom managed to get to their HEA in spite of the obstacles put in their path by other people, including family members. And boy did they make it hard for these two as teenagers...and later on in life! Consumed via audiobook, NTMNs Dallas Riley and Julian Blackmon made this an enjoyable listen. But when I heard there was a bonus epilogue in the ebook, I made sure to scoop it up to get the full story.

Loved it!! Yes, to all the drama and healing. I was so excited to read this book. The storyline was real and raw and the characters were interesting. Listening to the audiobook felt like watching a good drama on Lifetime. I loved this second chance love story that had some huge obstacles and tons of lies and secrets to get beyond. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. I could not put this one down. I enjoyed each book in this FANtasy series.

I’d definitely recommend to a friend

I enjoyed this second chance romance. This book was done with the flair one expects from Tiye. If you love a good drama filled love story then baby this one is for you. I love the FANtasy series and this one didn’t disappoint with keeping up with the 3 before it. I hope to see more books in this series.

Who needs enemies….

When I tell you the secrets in this book had me stressing😩

Freedom Cade came back for his son, but he brought a whole lot of history with him. Jamaica is caught in the middle of a mess she didn’t even know was being swept under the rug.

I love a story where the truth actually sets you free, even if it has to burn the house down first.

Fantasy Series is Top Tier

Freedom and Jamaica truly deserved one another. His transformative story arc kept me rooting for him the entire time. Jamaica learned the meaning of standing up for what you want and believe in. Always have loved this series.

I went in with no expectations of this book. It was an entertaining book about a second chance romance from high school sweethearts. However, there was family drama and personally the FMC Jamaica was annoying and I don’t think she deserved the MMC.

Loving the series

I have enjoyed reading this series. They are more adult. Seasoned characters with some age. A bit of realism and controversy that ends in love.

Jamaica was a dummy btch and got in my last nerve. She’s a terrible mother. Kody is a terrible husband and father. Freedom would be better off without them in his life.

Freedom and Jamaica melted my heart with all the ups and downs and how everyone manipulated them. Anyone could feel their souls were one.

A heartfelt, messy, and deeply satisfying read. I really enjoyed the love story of Freedom and Jamaica, two people navigating hurt, healing, and the lifelong fight to believe you’re enough. Freedom has been carrying the weight of the world since he was a teenager, and watching him grow, stumble, and keep showing up pulled at every one of my heartstrings. Jamaica’s family, that “best friend” Kody, the judgment, the obstacles…it all made me root even harder for their happily ever after.

And I have to say, I truly enjoyed Tempted by Tiye Love. Her writing keeps me turning pages like I forgot how to stop. Her stories have heart and sustenance, the kind that feeds the soul.
