WOW! This was an awesome read!

I have been a fan of WS Greer from the beginning and let me tell you, this does not disappoint. This is one of the best books he has written.

We meet Jason Adrien who is a lawyer at his late father's law firm, but his track record isn't that great and everyone doubts him, including his mother. Everyone expects him to be as great as his father was. He feels he can't live up to that and feels defeated. He's been involved with Valerie for a little while now and she makes him feel worthy and he is falling hard for her (the two of them are hot together). Valerie was a mystery and I couldn't wait to find out what her deal was.

He gets a phone call that Valerie was arrested for murder (and when you find out who, you start to wonder) and wanted him to be her defense attorney. From here, I was hooked to see what would happen next. Of course its a conflict of interest for a lawyer to be involved with his client. No one could find out. This will also give him a chance to redeem himself and prove to everyone that he has what it takes to win this case.

This was an amazing story with twists and turns that I did not see coming and I loved every minute of it. Is Valerie guilty? Can Jason redeem himself? Do they have a future together? You have to read and find out!! Don't miss out on this amazing read and add it to your TBR list today :)

6 STARS!

Brilliantly written!!
Defending Her is my first read for this author and I am really impressed.
The blurb of this book clearly summarizes what you need to expect from this story and MORE!
Jason, a struggling lawyer with a not so good record in the record wants to prove something for everyone who doesn't believe him and unexpectedly he fall in love and that's where this amazing story begins.
I love how Jason proves himself and chooses the right path.

"This is just the beginning. The real war is yet to come, but this time I’m ready for it. This time, I’m doing it my way."

" Somehow, in some weird way, it made me stronger. Strong enough to do what I know is right, regardless of what else is going on, or what the circumstances might be."
I really had a great time reading this and this could be an episode of CSI or Criminal Minds! This is a must read and it is in my top read for crime/Romance.

I really liked this book. Actually I loved it. I sat to read a few pages and ended up sitting and reading it all.

Jason is a lawyer struggling to live up to his deceased fathers reputation. He's going out with Valerie and falling for her. However that all changed when Valerie is arrested for murder. Doubts and questions crop up when he decides to defend her. Is Valerie who he thought she was?

This is a gripping read. The twists and turns were fantastic. I seriously didn't know what way the story was gonna go. Loved it.

Defending Her
By: W.S. Greer
5/5 stars

*I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.*

Wow! I was up, down and all over the place with this book. Sometimes I was frustrated, angry, hot & bothered, happy, sad, excited, nervous and… I don’t even know! At one point, I wanted to throat punch some of the characters. But then I realized that to pull this story off, the author would have to show the characters grow & mature and live up to their potential. Then I was able to settle down & thoroughly enjoy how the author brought me around.

Jason Adrien is a fairly new criminal defense attorney, working at his recently deceased father’s law firm & who is unable to live up to the attorney that his father was. Almost everyone who knew that didn’t let him forget it, from his boss, everyone at the law firm, and even his mom. He also suffers from the spoiled child syndrome and immaturity after having anything and everything being handed to him.

However, there is one person who embraces him and doesn’t compare him to his dad. Valerie Benedict, an ER nurse, is smart, sexy and secretive. They had an instant attraction, which developed into more and they had an amazing sex life…when they actually get to spend time together. He finds himself starting to have feelings & falling for her, which is the first time it’s ever happened for him. But when she’s arrested for murder and hires Jason to defend her, he learns that nothing is as it seemed with her & it has been nothing but lies.

If anyone found out about their affair, it is a conflict of interest and it would also be considered probable cause for the murder case and Jason could lose his law license. While Jason knows that they should end the affair, he finds that he just cannot resist Valerie. And Valerie also knows that she can manipulate Jason into giving her what she wants.

Jason doesn’t have the best track record of winning court cases and Valerie’s case will be high profile and most likely tried by an experienced, vicious prosecutor. No one who knows Jason believes that he should take the lead on this case. Jason is tired of all the comparisons between him and his dad and the lack of faith that everyone has for him. Except for Valerie. She trusts him, believes in him and wants him to be her attorney. He’ll have to be on top of his game and put in more time than any he ever has for any other case.

Seeing Jason’s growth & how all the different relationships blossomed & changed. I wasn’t ready for this book to end and was intrigued about what the future held for the characters. I’m not sure if this will be a series or just a standalone. But it is a full novel that will stand on its own either way. (I only noticed one inconsistency in the ARC format, but haven’t gone through the published version, so I don’t know if it’s there.)

Defending her is a suspense drama about lust, love, and murder. WS Greer has a knack for writing suspenseful drama with a flare of erotic and Defending her is right up his alley.

Jason Adrien is a golden child protégé of the late attorney James Adrien, even with the Adrien name, Jason is just not measuring up in the courtroom. The one thing he does have is Valerie Benedict. They Jason and Valerie have a very hot, physical relationship, with no strings attached, just the way he likes it. But this woman is getting to him and he thinks he may finally be ready to settle into something more with her. Valerie is very mysterious, and leaves Jason hanging, that is until he receives a call late one night from the jail… and everything he thought about Valerie was a lie.

I had a love/hate relationship with Jason’s character; he seemed like a spoiled rich kid that didn’t really care about anything but himself, not even his career. But when push comes to shove and Valerie’s life depends on his defense, he finally shows up and becomes the character I loved to read about. Valerie, there was something mysterious and a little dark with her, I felt like she was sneaky and underhanded, but it definitely made me want to read more about her and figure her out.

I have to mention one of the supporting characters that I absolutely loved, Veronica, Jason’s ex and the prosecutor on Valerie’s case. She was batshit crazy, but in an awesomely great way. l loved the banter between her and Jason and how badass of a female lawyer she is. I could definitely see more of Veronica. ;) All in all, this was a great drama with lots of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Did she do it or didn’t she do it… Read and find out!

This was a great read that had your emotions all over the place. From happy to sad to throat punching mad you will experience it all with this book! I loved watching the characters grow.

Jason is a young attorney with big shoes to fill following into the foot steps of his late father. It seems like everyone including his mother is there to remind him he's not as good as his father was.

Valerie a er nurse that Jason has been seeing and has fallen in love with. But are things what they seem?

When Valerie is arrested for murder, and hires Jason as her lawyer, she has faith in him. Can he win her case with no one finding out about the affair between them? Will they still have a relationship when it's over?
This was such an amazing story I'd highly recommend everyone one click it today!

Twenty seven year old Jason Adrien is living in his father’s shadow. His father was one of Seattle’s best defense lawyers and Jason has been expected to follow in his footsteps since the day he was born. The only problem is, he’s not his father and he doesn’t want to be. So far, he’s the worst lawyer in the history of law, the only thing saving him, for now, is the law firm his father started.

Jason meets Valerie at the ER after he is hit in the head with a bottle. Valerie is the nurse who looks after him and she is perfect. The sexiest and most beautiful woman he has ever seen, and Jason has seen a lot of women. He’s never been inclined to want more than physical pleasure with a woman, but that changed with Valerie. But Valerie has secrets that she’s not sharing with Jason, and it’s all about to blow up in their faces.

“How the hell is calling me a baby robot not an insult?”

I enjoyed this book. At first I wasn’t convinced that the author could pull it off. I thought it was too much of a stretch to turn Jason from a bumbling idiot of a lawyer into the hot shot he needs to be to help this woman, but she did it, she really did it. I’m impressed. I also like that things don’t turn out the way the reader might expect them took, that added an air of realism to the story. Not everything works out the way we want, all nice and neat tied up in a pretty bow. There are some scorching hot sex scenes and some moments when I wanted to smack the characters upside the head. All in all this was a good read. I give this book 4 stars with 3 hands down the pants.

Well wow! There you go. I will admit this is my first book by this author and it won't be my last at all. This book took me on a ride that had me guessing until the end. This is one of those books where you think you have figured it out only for everything to be completed twisted and shaken up. This book was also seriously sexy.

This is Jason and Valerie's story. Jason is a lawyer who can't seem to live up to the reputation that has been put on him ever since stepping up to the plate following his late father. He has been seeing Valerie for a while now so when he gets a phone call letting him know that she was arrested for murder, he decides to defend her. Can he trust Valerie? Did she do it or is she innocent? As suspicion swirls around and the passion around them heats up, their lives will never be the same. And the question remains... who is Valerie really?

Yep, I am totally stopping there so I don't spoil this book. One click it. I promise it will keep you guessing for a long time. This book will also have you flipping pages as fast as you can as the mystery and suspense begins to unravel...

I highly recommend this book!

Greer delivers in this romantic suspense when what begins as a relationship of sexually driven convenience becomes something far more complex than either Jason Adrien or Valerie Roberts bargained for.

A deceased father leaves behind enormous shoes to fill as Jason struggles to be his own man and prove his unique value to the legal community. In an unlikely twist of fate, Valerie has been bedding the one man who could save or destroy her future.

This novel was well written and researched. I appreciated the attention to detail as the story unfolded and the plot thickened. Greer provides a refreshing male viewpoint to the romance genre and readers will be pleased with what he has to offer inside the pages of Defending Her.

When I started reading this book I was not sure I would like it. It is different from what I normally read. The more I read, the more I loved it, but was pissed because I did not know how I wanted it to end. Did I want Valerie to be guilty or did I want her to be innocent? Can't wait to read more books from this author.
