I really appreciated the modern takes this book had on the fairly outdated way of looking at the 5 love languages. I love how this book not only expanded the 5 love languages we already know, but it even created more that make this information more relevant to us such as taking into account things like LGBTQ+, neuro-divergence, emotional stability, and more. I felt this was researched well and was very easy and even fun to digest. It took a lot of care when explaining more heated subjects but also did not shy away in mentioning topics needed to be discussed. Topics such as manipulation of love languages, triggering responses, etc. My favorite thing that this book did was widen the lens on love languages in general and how they show up in every type of relationship in our lives, not just romantic ones. This book went over love lessons between romantic relationships, family relationships, friendships, coworkers, and even strangers. This book brought a much needed refresh to how we approach love and kindness in our lives with other people and internally.
