Crutchless: And Five Life Lessons From No One Important

Rate this book
In Crutchless, Daniel Wellington takes readers on a deeply personal journey from a life of survival to one of mindfulness and spiritual clarity. Diagnosed with late-stage cancer, Daniel faces both a literal and metaphorical a chance to reevaluate how he lives and see the world. Through decades of self-discovery, he learned that life’s greatest gifts often come from the most unexpected sources.

Sharing his stories, including the unforgettable “Ullabetta” moment with his daughter Josie, Daniel illustrates how seemingly insignificant connections can offer life-changing insight. He demonstrates how intentionality can transform not only our mindset but also how we choose to live. By sharing these moments, he takes us on a practical roadmap for living mindfully with gratitude while offering some valuable but simple life lessons.
Crutchless is both memoir and guide. Readers will be inspired to recognize the interventions and gifts in their own lives—whether they come from a higher power, definitive moments or the environment around them. Using music, his proud position of ‘averageness’, the American Dream, and a lifelong vision to positively change the course of his family forever, his story demonstrates that even in the face of fear and uncertainty, it is possible to resiliently move forward while cultivating joy and purpose.

Filled with heartfelt stories, and spiritual insight, this book empowers readers to embrace life fully, appreciate the gifts already present, and take actionable steps toward a more positive existence. Crutchless is a testament to consciously choosing self-empowerment and a drive to overcome obstacles, rather than living as a victim. We land in a place where we can see that anything is possible, and how much sense it makes to laugh often and live well.
Enjoy the ride. There’s something for everyone here…
