Excellent book. If you’ve read any books on habits you will see a lot of that in this book — but overall well written, short chapters, and great organization.

I received this book as a present (NOT in exchange for a review though. Even if I had to pay full price for it, my review would be 100% the same.)

In short:
Solving Procrastination is the ultimate book for procrastinators, and one of the very few self-help books that actually contains rational explanations, actionable advice, and a step-by-step guide to tackling procrastination. If you ever procrastinate (and we both know you do), or if you want to achieve more during your lifetime, then do yourself a favor and get this book ASAP.

Downsides?
The only "downside" of this book is that in order to unlock its full potential, you WILL need a pen, maybe a highlighter, and, most of all, your brain. Solving Procrastination (both book and issue) is the real deal, and you WILL need to take notes. Yes, it contains puns, jokes, humor, and makes for a great read, but it also takes its readers seriously and expects them to take themselves seriously.

This means that you might need to buy a copy you can mark things in (the audiobook is great, but I found the hardcover easier to work with.)

Now that we established that...

Why should you read Solving Porcrastination?
Solving Procrastination breaks the outdated mold that "procrastination is just a matter of will-power/time-management/any-other-singular-cause". Spoiler alert: it's NOT. It's FAR more complex than that, with different people procrastinating for different reasons.

But worry not, my friend, because Solving Procrastination is here to help, and oh boy does it get the job done!

The book delves into ALL of the reasons for why people procrastinate, all while helping YOU, the reader, diagnose the cause for YOUR specific procrastination. Then, it literally helps you tailor a SPECIFIC solution for your specific type of procrastination.

This is what I loved the most about this book: it treats the reader as an individual and aims at offering them a tailored solution. This alone is a massive feat for a book, and the fact that Solving Procrastination achieves it makes it one of those rare self-help books that is worth their weight in gold.

But Solving Procrastination doesn't stop there. It explains the psychology behind why we procrastinate - which to me was an absolute game changer, as it allowed me to tackle some of my procrastination by asking 'do I really want to lose this tug-of-war?'.

It also offers dozens of different tools, methods, and tricks, all of which you can combine to your heart's content. This might sound overwhelming, but using the book's step-by-step guide allows you to cherry-pick the exact tools/methods that will benefit you, without getting lost in the forest of solutions.

As if that's not enough, the book also contains quick-start exercises that help you implement each solution. There are guiding questions for you to answer to see if a certain solution worked for you or not. There is even troubleshooting advice if you get stuck! [Seriously, this book got you more covered than a duvet in winter.]

Still feeling lost, my friend? Cheer up, because this book even has CASE STUDIES to guide you further! Just see if you resonate (fully or partially) with one of the case studies and SHAZAM! Without noticing, you took your very first step in tackling your own procrastination!

Honestly, this book will give you Hogwarts-level magical Eureka moments.

Anyways...
I think this little scroll of mine just proves my point at the beginning - Solving Procrastination is a rare gem in today's literary sea, and you'll do yourself a service by reading this book. Your future self (read the book and you'll get the pun) will 100% thank you for this.

Anyway, these are my two cents. If you reached this point - congrats, thank you for reading, and may the force of controlling your day be with you!

Cheers :)

I, like, it turns out, loads of people, procrastinate from time to time. Ironically, this book made me realise just how serious procrastination can become when I found myself putting off something I genuinely enjoy and had set myself a hard, meaningful deadline to complete: writing my own book about a topic that really matters to me.

Reading this book shed light on how subtle, and potentially dangerous, procrastination can be, particularly when we are not even aware that we are doing it. Very well written and thoughtfully structured, with so many relatable case studies that it is almost impossible not to recognise yourself in at least one of them, this book is a genuinely useful guide to becoming more aware of procrastination and, more importantly, to developing the tools to fight back.

Perhaps the hardest part is also the simplest: being honest with ourselves. Procrastination is always around the corner, and recognising it for what it is can take a significant amount of self-awareness and effort.

Definitely worth a read—and, ideally, worth keeping close at hand as we navigate the everyday situations in which procrastination can so easily take hold.

This is definitely one of the best books on procrastination I’ve ever read. The author brings together an impressive number of concepts, ideas, and practical insights—probably more than anyone else who has written on the subject before him. The book does a great job of explaining not only why we procrastinate, but also how different psychological mechanisms contribute to it and what can actually be done about it.

If you are prone to procrastination and want to understand the problem more deeply rather than just collect a few productivity tips, this is a must-read.
