When Audrey Carter and her friends uncover the forgotten name Lasindra, they awaken a riddle sealed in shadow. It is said to be unsolvable—crafted by an enchantress who wove traps into every word, binding her secrets with peril.
The Circle soon discovers the riddle is no mere puzzle. It is a key—one that unlocks ancient doors, awakens long-dead voices, and threatens to unravel the bonds holding their world together.
As they struggle to interpret Lasindra’s words, danger closes in. Trust splinters. Allies fade.
And Audrey must decide whether solving the riddle will protect the future… or destroy it.
A must-read for readers who love the magic of Harry Potter, the humor of Percy Jackson, and the heart of Keeper of the Lost Cities.
Book 7 cranks up the magical stakes and sends the Phoenix Circle’s pint-sized powerhouses (average age: barely teen, attitude: full throttle) on a quest that’s anything but cozy. From the shadowy guts of their school to the icy claws of the craigy winter mountains, this installment delivers tension, teamwork, and just enough chaos to keep me spellbound.
Morwen’s plan to rewrite magic in her own image is the kind of villainy that makes your wand hand twitch. The kids—nine strong and gloriously flawed—aren’t just fighting her; they’re fighting for the soul of magic itself. And B.J. Cade doesn’t hold back. The pacing is brisk, the stakes are real, and the emotional beats land with surprising depth for a crew that’s still figuring out algebra.
If you’ve followed the series from Audrey’s first adventure, Lasindra’s Riddle feels like the crescendo we’ve been waiting for. If you’re new? Start at Book 1 and prepare to binge. Cade’s world is rich, weird, and wonderfully wild—and this book proves she’s still got plenty of spells left to cast.
The students of the Phoenix Tower were summoned to what adds up to a building where lies are magically detected. They were advised by Professor Fizzwick to tell the truth, even if what they did was against the rules. The trip there was full of fear for what is ahead. B.J. Cade has created suspense from the first page. I cannot relay the things that gripped me for fear of spoiling anything. The characters in this book are concise and easily recognized. I enjoyed this more that book 1 and I hope there will be continuing stories for our kids of Phoenix Tower.
