Follow me on Twitter @ChelseaChaynes It was 1149 AD in the city of Chestershire. King Henry the Wicked ruled the North with an iron fist. In an effort to unify the lands he offered is daughter, Princess Elizabeth James to Prince Richard Pace of the West, securing a needed alliance to protect his Kingdom. But Princess Elizabeth had other plans, and a love that burned so bright and hot it couldn't be ignored, even though her father refused to accept it. The King could command armies and an empire but he couldn't command her heart. This 5000 word short story contains themes and scenes consistent with bondage and other BDSM themes. It is for mature audiences only. Word count does not include excerpts, those are an added bonus.

WTF

This book, wtf. When did forced sex/ aka rape become erotic. This book should have trigger warnings. It needed work. Not impressed with this author, and consider this a complete waste of Reader space and time.

What I liked:
-Plot. It seems like there’s actually gonna be a real plot in this series, not just poorly written, mindless sex that borders on rape (sometimes crossing that border).
-Writing. The writing in this book was pretty decent compared to some of her other books. It wasn’t as choppy and it seemed easier to lose yourself in this story.
-Sex. Surprisingly the sex in this book wasn’t too poorly written. It definitely wasn’t anything sweet and beautiful, but the straight to the point approach worked with the brutality of the story.

What I disliked:
-Quality. Her books feel very cheap and mass produced, like she just wants to write and publish as many as she can as fast as she can. There’s very little effort and quite a few editing errors that could have easily been caught with a quick proof read. They’re only about 5,000 words long—it would have taken ten minutes to go through and edit. Disappointing that she doesn’t seem to care about the quality of her work.

Overall, it wasn’t pure garbage. Dare I say, I’m actually a little interested in where the sequels go, but I definitely wouldn’t pay for them. I’ll just use my imagination to fill in the blanks and I’d advice any other readers to do the same unless you have plenty of disposable income. 2.5
