I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and though I wasn’t required to post a review, I knew I HAD to after finishing it!

Charlotte has written a warm hearted story retelling The Christmas Carol with Scrooge now being a cold hearted young woman who hates Christmas because of what happened 10 years ago!

Emma reluctantly returns to her home town to close out a deal for the company she works for and meets the boy she loved and then her best friend back then and her family and then her mother in that order.

Emma is cold and distant at first but the first night she is back with her mother a letter mysteriously appears which tells her to expect three visitors and thus Dicken’s Christmas Carol begins anew with the female Scrooge who slowly starts to thaw her cold heart because of what happened 10 years previously.

She starts to see what she has closed herself off from these past ten years and with encouragement from her best friend as well as her mom and a certain
guy she never got over with either she starts to see a new path open up when her dream job lands in her lap if she wants it. Her question now is does she return to her old life or take a chance on something new?

I loved this book and this retelling of the classic story I have loved since I was a kid and heard it the very first time! I’ve watched movies of it by at least four different casts but the theme of what Dicken’s wanted to convey still shone through as it does in this story-what does it mean to be successful if you have no one to share it with!

I love this story in all its forms and I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this book as one I know you’ll love as well! It helps remind the Scrooge in us all to remember what is important in this life we live and where our priorities should lie!

I urge you to get and read this book and relive the excitement and joy when you read or watched the book or movie the first time!

Let your heart start expanding like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas when he found he couldn’t stop Christmas from coming and jumped in at the last moment to save it!

I know you’ll love this book just as much as I have!
