*BOOK TWO in the BEAUTIFUL MINE series. You should read JULIAN first.*

JUDE

I’m not worthy. I don’t deserve her. And I know it.

Before he died, my brother asked me to take care of his young widow, and I agreed. And after my brother died, my mother asked me to dig up some dirt on the girl. I also agreed. I’ve been called lots of things in my day. An anomaly. A walking contradiction. A complicated asshole. But I’ve never been called someone’s hero… until her.

EVIE

I don’t understand him, and I sure as hell don’t understand what’s happening. He confuses me, and at times, I want to slap him and kiss him all at the same time. I didn’t even know he existed until that night he showed up at my door. Nothing makes sense anymore. All I know is he’s the most complex man I’ve ever met, and as much as I try to deny the way I feel about him, I’m powerless in the solace of his embrace. Our relationship may be inappropriate and unconventional, but it’s ours. And in a weird sort of way, he’s kind of my hero.

But there are secrets and self-loathing behind his eyes, words left unspoken, and questions unanswered. I always thought Julian held the key to my future… until I met Jude.

So if you've made it this far, you know what happened in Julian's book. I wanted more Julian, he made my heart flutter and his time was cut way too short.

Julian asked his brother Jude for help as his dying wish I suppose you could say, "Make her happy, make her love. Jude, take care of her". He reaches out to an estranged brother to help the love of his life move on after he passes away.

Jude steps up, he swoops in and takes care of Evie just as his brother asks, which initially seems like a stellar thing for him to do until you realize he is playing both sides of the fence. I'm truly not sure why he would do that seeing as he hates his mother, Caroline, just as much as Julian did.

As time passes, Evie thinks that maybe she will be okay. It still doesn't feel right dating the brother of her late husband but she's finding happiness and can't seem to walk away.

After discovering some terrible secrets, she feels extremely betrayed and runs...for three months she travels the world doing all of the things that she and Julian dreamed of doing.

What happens when she gets back? When she steps back into reality and realizes she isn't sure what she wants or better yet if it's still even available for the taking?

I didn't enjoy this one as much as Julian's story and I still felt like the story line moved to fast, well I shouldn't say that, the story line skipped a lot of details and just moved on to a further period of time ahead than I would have preferred.

I think that if these books were maybe 500 pages, they would be AMAZING rather than just pretty good.

2.5, if you need the exact number.

i feel disappointed of the second book, i am in love the first book, the story of Julian, what he had is sad. When he met Evie, he had his wonderful six months to feel the real life, in return, he given multi-millions to Evie.

i don't like Evie either, even in the first, but i do think her apperances in Julian's life is making Julain's life in good.

I don't like Jude either, he stole what Julian's, he betray the trust of Julian, maybe this is the arrangement of Julian, but, i don't think he was in love with anybody beside himself, he hurts Veronica, Samantha, becuase he wants something from them, he may did the the same on Evie becuase she had money.

i don't think this is the true love story, people just exchange something, they may said they love in return to kill the loniess, money and ......

i felt sorry i was so much in love of the "julian", that's the reason i felt extra disappointed of "Jude"

This series is no longer available on Amazon.-

I think the author(s) had to remove them because many readers didn't like the fact that it was the same book previously entitled, A Love Like His (BWWM Interracial Romance) (Richmond-Banks
Brothers Book) by Coco Jordan
. Which also is no longer available on Amazon.

The only difference is the race of the character is now white in this book.

Beautiful and tragic. Not something that I would normally read, as I don't like books about this theme. It was a happy accident reading this book. But you will need a great deal of Kleenex to get through it.

This is technically book 2 in the series, although you can read this without reading Julian and get the gist of what's going on. And apparently there's a #3, but I'll get to that later.

In Julian (book 1), we learn about this man who is ill, but who is also a mystery... and this family who is f'ed up despite the money and notoriety in the one-horse Kansas town they seem to rule. Evie's his nurse, they fall in love and eventually elope and his mother his livid. Sadly, he's ill and even Evie's love can't keep him alive. But Julian, the sly one that he is, decides to send Evie his brother, Jude because despite their estrangement he believes Jude will take care of Evie. [I have issues with that already, and that's just in the Prologue]

Book 2 starts when Jude arrives at Evie's house a couple of days after Julian dies. And we learn that he's not there just because Julian sent him, but also because evil Caroline wants to find proof that Evie married Julian for his money, such that she promises Jude to help his flailing business. And of course, we knew from book 1 that wasn't true and that Caroline is manipulative and controlling.

The nice thing about this book is that Evie's BFF finds love with Jude's roommate and friend. So we get to read a little bit about that.

I found this book to introduce a lot of elements that are never fully explored to make this a truly satisfying book. Both the prologue and the epilogue are written by the dead Julian, which was an interesting way to begin and end the story of Evie and Jude, but in the end I just found it creepy. That Spencer (her ex) is still "around" and even mentioned is weird and never really addressed. Evie is in mourning, grieving and this dude shows up on her doorstep and looks like the healthy badass version of Julian... another this that's creepy. I loved that she left him after he finally told her the truth, but we don't get to read about her time apart from Jude. What happened during the 3 months that allowed her to sort her feelings and mourn for Julian? This would have been a stronger novel had we gotten to experience that along with Evie. I also found Jude to be an a-hole for dating the daughter of the guy who's going to buy his business, leading her on while he knows that he doesn't like her. Why does Evie want him again? My only guess is that it's because he's the alive version of Julian. I found nothing redeeming about Jude -- he lies, he's afraid of emotion and commitment, he's easily manipulated by women -- what's sexy about this? Oh, he has a tattoo. Huh?

I'm not sure what warrants a book about the third brother except that he's mentioned and that Evie never knew he existed but so what? He should have been introduced in this one a bit, to prepare for his book.

Get the tissues ready, because you're going to need them!

What an amazing story of a second chance at love. Destiny can be a cruel bitch at times, but sometimes she does things for a reason. This book definitely has you hoping and praying destiny will bring a man like Jude (or even his late brother Julian) into your life!

I would say this is a MUST READ for everyone! Once you pick up this book, you won't be able to put it down! Follow Evie and she finds her way back to happiness, and Jude as he finds his self again. Though you loved Julian and Evie together, you'll love Evie and Jude even better!

YES READ THIS SERIES!!!! I wrote a longer review on book #1, but I don't want to say too much. This series should really be discovered for itself.

WHAT WORKED:

*That epilogue is just all the treasures of the world put together. And then some.
*The scenery descriptions.
*The tactile sense of mood was done very well.

WHAT NEEDED WORK:

*The sudden drop in pace midway so the heroine could find herself again. I wanted to skim and skip ahead.

You know when you "fall in love" at a young age, and then you REALLY fall in love and realize that when you were younger that really wasn't love at all. Thats kind of how this series goes for me. I loved book one, but then I read this book and my love for this book is soooo much more! I could not put this book down! Such a page turner! I'm anxious to see what book 3 will entail and if we will read anything about Jude and Evie in it!

Jude agreed to look after his younger brothers widow, but knowing and living with Evie makes him fall for her and he has secrets that she cannot know.
Evie is torn and messed up after Julian's Death ,so Jude's coming into her life..comes a light..in dark tunnel. He makes her laugh again and also...desired.
With secrets, evil mothers and a spirit trying to help can these two have HEA?

I haven't read the first book in this series but i think i liked reading this one.

Wonderful

This book was wonderful a tear jerker, I cried at some of the chapters in this book. The love of a good man or woman in unconditional and not even death can stop it. Evie ended up with Jude and the love they have for each other is remarkable. Julian knew this would happen and that's what makes this book wonderful.
