Welcome to Wayward Hollow - Where new beginnings come with an unwanted thrill

When my husband doesn’t show up for one of the biggest nights of my career, I make two life-changing decisions:

File for divorce.
Move to a tiny town called Wayward Hollow for a fresh start.

Honestly? Great plan in theory.
Less great in practice once my dog digs up human bones in the backyard of my very new, and apparently very haunted house.

Now I’m stuck dealing with flickering lights, slamming doors, a town-wide betting pool over the nature of the bones in my backyard, and Erik —the ridiculously handsome sheriff who keeps showing up every time my life spirals into chaos.
Erik is juggling a case that’s haunted him for years and complicated feelings about his family. The more time I spend with him, the bigger the feeling he may be impossible to stay away from.

But between ghost stories, late nights, new friends, autumn festivals, and whatever is definitely haunting my house, Wayward Hollow is starting to feel less like an escape…and more like home.

Read this in one day because it was too funny and cute and kinda spooky to put down! There’s nothing quite like human remains, a haunted house that seems to hate your ex, a group of silly friends who always have the best snacks, and a sweet and sexy sheriff trying to find his long lost sister to pull you in.

I really loved Kylie and Erik and I’m so thankful for the ARC LoveNotesPR and Hailey Frost! This is such a cute fall romance with the perfect amount of mystery, silly moments and true crime vibes.

****ARC READER REVIEW****

This book is basically what happens when you try to start a peaceful new life and the universe says, “lol no, here’s a skeleton.” Kylie escapes her neglectful husband, buys a house in Wayward Hollow, and immediately discovers she’s living on top of a crime scene and sharing space with a ghost. Honestly? Iconic behavior.

But instead of spiraling, she ends up surrounded by the sweetest, quirkiest neighbors, plus a sheriff who is both handsome and emotionally supportive, a rare combo. Suddenly Wayward Hollow feels less like a mistake and more like fate with good lighting.

The fall vibes? Immaculate.
The friendships? Instant and adorable.
The paranormal chaos? Chef’s kiss.
Kylie fits right into the group with her crime‑story obsession and warm personality, and Erik’s steady, protective energy balances her perfectly. Their romance grows at a gentle pace, making every moment feel earned.

The haunting scenes and local lore were my favorite, cozy autumn atmosphere mixed with ghosts, mystery, and small‑town charm. It’s the kind of book that feels like wrapping yourself in a blanket while something mildly supernatural happens in the background.

Fun, sweet, spooky, and perfectly fall

~ plot ~

When Newly divorced city girl Kylie moves to the small, cosy town of Wayward Hollow she’s hoping for peace, quiet and a fresh start. The town however, has other plans because what she actually gets is a skeleton in her garden, a haunted house and a mystery to solve. So much for peace and quiet hey!

~ review ~

Welcome back to Wayward Hollow! A small town that’s cosy with a hint of chaos and sweet with a side of spooky. Nobody appointed me head of the ‘when does Autumn officially start’ club but I’m appointing myself and declaring it, NOW.
A Love Like Candle Light will have you rummaging through your wardrobe for a cosy knit and chunky boots and searching through every drawer and cupboard for your candle lighter. Been wanting a PSL? This is your excuse. Put your phone on DND and prepare to curl up on the couch for the day because once you open this book, you aren’t closing it until you’re done!

~

A Love Like Candle Light is a dual POV, cosy heartwarming small-town Autumnal romance with a hint of the paranormal. It’s full of small-town community charm, friends that feel more like family (human and furry!), mystery, intrigue and a whole lot of love. You don’t need to have read the previous books in the series to enjoy this one but in order to get the most from the story and its characters, I’d definitely suggest doing so.

Spooky goings on are a fixture in Hailey Frost’s writing but this book definitely feels more intriguing than the others. A true crime fan, unidentified remains, haunted house, decades long missing persons case, ghost stories and folklore? It’s the perfect introduction to the spooky season and my Ghost Whisperer loving heart feels SO full right now. Also, the Stars Hollow vibes and nod to NCIS? I feel like Hailey Frost has been browsing my watchlists, chef’s kiss 💋👏🏼

In saying that, the mystery doesn’t overwhelm the cosy, warm small-town charm or romance. Erik and Kylie make quite the team and their connection is everythingggg. They hit it off from the jump yet things don’t feel rushed. It’s a natural, comfortable, easy kind of love - the kind that finds when you least expect it. I have all the time in the world for how healthy their communication is and how open, honest and vulnerable they are with each other. They’re exactly what they didn’t know they needed and it works SO well.

I can’t talk about Wayward Hollow without mentioning the people who call it home. Now, do I somewhat envy Kylie for getting the last house on the lake and becoming neighbours with Nic, Lauren, Kieran and Caleb? Yes, yes I do. I’ve got to give it to her though, this city girl takes to small town living like a duck to water and the fact she doesn’t immediately turn and book it after the whole skeleton discovery/haunted house thing? Perfect fit for the group. They genuinely feel more like family than friends and I am SO excited for Kieran’s book!!

~ final thoughts ~

Hailey Frost has done it again, another seasonal hit to be added to my annual TBR! My only complaint? I seriously don’t have any more room in my mind or on my shelves for another book boyfriend! Every trip back to Wayward Hollow and its community feels like going home for the holidays. I adore the charm, warmth, lovable furry friends, spooky goings on and sprinkling of spice that each book delivers but A Love Like Candle Light just has that little something extra and has jumped right to the top of my pyramid!

Thank you to Hailey Frost for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC, it’s an absolute pleasure to be part of your team. This is my honest opinion and I’m sharing it voluntarily❣️

A Love Like Candle Light 🕯️
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Hailey Frost for trusting me with this beautiful ARC!🍁
Filing for divorce & moving to Wayward Hollow, was the only way after her did not show up for the biggest night of my career.Everything started to look bright again, until my dog found some bones in the backyard & my house turned up haunted.

MY FIRST AUTUMNAL READ & IT WAS A F I V E STAR.🌟
There are some books that are so good, that I am 100% sure that no words could describe them. The vibes I got got,the feelings I felt & the cozyness I experienced when reading A Love Light Candle Light were immaculate.Personally,I read it on two different mornings on vacation, with a hot latte by hand & books gods blessed me with cold and rainy weather both days.SO,the setting was perfect, the book ate and the reader was more than lucky.
Now,getting into the story.
We are in the small town of Wayward Hollow,a picture perfect, cozy city that honoring fall is a tradition that is begun years before our characters were even born.
Everyone, was so welcoming and kind, while the found family feeling was so strong,to the point I do not remember when I read something such as this.As you understood,my girl Kylie won the lottery with this choice of hers.🌍
Speaking about Kylie, she is a beautiful soul, with a kind heart that truly deserves the entire word.I have a deeper respect for fmcs, who find the courage to pack everything and leave their past behind,so Kylie had already an advance in my heart even before meeting her.I also loved her sparkly energy & the way she almost become a team with the ghost. She just had that something, that after you read it,the understanding of her being in this story is your first thought.
Eric,on the other side,is just my husband.OKAY I SAID IT.& you know that I rarely fall for this guys(I mean I let them be with their girls🥹),but Eric OMG,was the cherry on top for this book.Beyond handsome,a overworked sheriff who had an important life mission that would move mountains in order to accomplish it.I really liked, that we saw a mmc which his whole life purpose was just to find love and had a fully individual arc to complete.
In Love Like Candle Light, you will read the cutest and cozyest (count how many times I have said cozy and win the giveaway🫪) romances on the 2026 fall, which is based on support, understanding, space and a deep love, one like the fairy tales.
Ending,I want to point out,how big of a role forgiveness played in the story.Forgiveness to multiple people, that some will say they deserved it,other will not. But,I am glad we can find books that we can also see this side of life.
So,if you want a cozy,paranormal-ish,with a lot of laughs,a found family & a beautiful romance story,A Love Like Candle Light, with a side of a pumpkin spice latte is the perfect choice for you.
Out On Sept,2nd🍂

I really wanted to like this, but the truth is that I struggled with it. The story had good potential, and the concept is cute. The execution made it difficult to get through.

We have a good premise starting out. She's in a bad marriage and asks for a divorce. She moves to a small town and buys herself a nice house on the lake. The haunted house was great for the cozy autumn story, but it did fall a little flat. It was woven into the story, but at the same time felt separate from it. I'm not sure if I was just disconnected from it for some reason.

My biggest issues are the writing itself and the characters.

First, the characters. They were . . . Flat. Contrived might be a better term. The FMC was a bit of a caricature of quirky girls. She kind of annoyed me, but more in certain spots, not all the time. The men felt feminine to me, and the side characters blended together, as if the author struggled to show real differentiation between them all, even between the men and women. They just weren't well-rounded, and they didn't stand out to me. The MMC's internal dialogue was similar to the FMC, which just didn't work in my opinion. Better characterization would really help, along with more natural dialogue. Even the super religious mother just felt really awkward and like a cheesy stereotype of what the character was meant to represent. Really, a lot of it is in the dialogue, which didn't come across as natural much of the time.

As for the writing . . . This really needs to be edited. The book lists an editor, which concerns me. Genuinely, I was struggling to get past the excessive typos and awkward phrasing. I'm not sure if her other books are like this, but I probably won't check them out after this experience, unfortunately. Maybe this affected my view of the book as a whole and was part of what made me struggle to connect with it. Regardless, it just wasn't for me.

I wish the author the best, and I do think her stories themselves have potential. I just think they'd be a lot more enjoyable if these issues I struggled with weren't so prevalent.

This was adorable!

Needing a change after her divorce, Kylie moved to a small town and bought a house on the lake where her dog promptly dug up a bone. Great way to meet the new neighbors and the cop in town; not a great way to find out her house is also haunted. Good thing the ghost seems to like Erik, the cop, and doesn't seem to like Kylie's ex, as we see when his picture gets dumped often. Erik not only has the mystery of who this body is at Kylie's house to work through, but he also is trying to figure out what happened to his sister twenty-five years ago as Kylie learns her first night. Together, they make a great team and help solve both mysteries. But one remains and usually is a deal breaker for Erik's past love life: his father's in jail, and his past girlfriends couldn't handle that.

Kylie and Erik get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.

These two were so adorable together, and I could not put this book down! I loved how quickly Kylie accepted that there was something else in her home and worked around it, but also wasn't too spooked by it. I sure would be. I do have to wonder: if it wasn't for Kylie's help, would Erik have stumbled across his sister eventually on his own with his own love for reading, or if that was too far out of the way and it wouldn't have happened? I would have loved to have seen a reunion of Erik's sister with their aunt, but I also understand that it was Erik and Kylie's story first and foremost and not just Erik's family story. Though I do love that Kylie now has such a great family where she is.

I received an advance review copy from Love Notes PR, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

After two books in the Wayward Hollow series, starting the third feels a lot like coming home to your favorite place. 😍

This small town is the epitome of cozy vibes, and no one does Fall and Christmas quite like Wayward Hollow. 🍂🎄

A Love Like Candlelight takes us right back to fall with the coziest autumn atmosphere, the annual Fall fair, a new city girl ready to trade it all in for a charming small town (and honestly, I can't say I blame her 🥺), some paranormal activity, and, of course, a charming romance.

This one felt a little more like a rollercoaster than books one and two, and I mean that in the best possible way! From skeletal mysteries and a decades-old unsolved case to charming folklore that made this small town even more lovable, Hailey Frost weaves every element together so seamlessly.

I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and I may have freaked out a little. 👀🤣 Ghost stories and Ouija boards are dfinitely a great way to kick off spooky season!

Kylie and Eric were adorable from the start, and I loved the immediate friendship between Nic, Lauren, and Kierran. Combined with a cozy small town that adopts everyone as family, and a boatload of adorable animals, and it's impossible for Wayward Hollow not to carve its way into your heart. 🥹

Hailey Frost writes the kind of worlds you just fall into, and that's exactly what I did. I cannot wait to find my way back to Wayward Hollow for book four! ❤️

A huge thank you to the author for the chance to be an early reader of this story.

ARC provided by Love Notes. Thank you so much!

A Love Like Candlelight is the third installment in the Wayward Hollow series. This time we meet Kylie, who is newly divorced and moves into the last open mansion on the lake, thus becoming Nics, Laurens and Kierans neighbor. Promptly her dog finds a skeleton buried in her yard, through which she meets Erik, the sheriff, whom we have met before, most prominently in A Love Like Pumpkin Spice.

This was a bit of a cozy mystery as well as a romance novel. Like the books before, it is very low stakes and with low drama, which makes it really cozy and a feel good book. Erik, like the other men in the series, is such a sweetheart and a dream, that it makes you sigh and wish all men were like that.

Kylies and his love story is sweet, but I found it not as deep as the other two couples before. Somehow it lacked a bit of depth for me. And since we didn’t know much about Erik before, it didn’t grip me as much as Laurens story and Kierans, which is still to come. Somehow it lacked that hook. But I liked the side stories about Erik’s sister and Kylies ghost.

Also I must give credit to Hailey Frost, I LOVE that all the protagonists have a bad or at least strained relationship with their parents. That is not something you read about in romance books a lot, almost never, I would even say. I enjoyed it very much how Kylie stood up to her mother and also her ex-husband. It’s hard to create a relationship like that, one that does not feel over the top with the drama, while still being incredibly frustrating and emotionally draining.

ARC Review:

A Love Like Candle Light by Hailey Frost is the third book in the Wayward Hollow series.

Kylie was fed up with her husband ignoring her, so she decided to divorce him. After the divorce was finalized, she decided to leave the city and bought a house in Wayward Hollow. Since her job was remote, she wanted a peaceful and quiet life. But her wish wasn't exactly fulfilled. On her first day there, her dog discovered a skeleton in the yard, and later she found out that her house was haunted. Thankfully, she met her kind and fun neighbors, as well as the sheriff, who happened to be quite handsome. Perhaps moving there wasn't such a bad choice after all.

I love fall-themed books, and this one definitely lived up to my expectations. It has romance, ghosts, skeletons, and fast-developing friendships. If you have read the previous books, then you already know some of the entertaining characters.

Kylie was a great addition to the group. I loved how easily she connected with everyone, as well as her love for crime stories. She was very sweet and kind. Erik was a nice fellow as well. He was protective and supportive, and I liked that their relationship developed at a steady pace.

My favorite parts were the haunting scenes and the local story. I really enjoyed the cozy fall atmosphere mixed with the paranormal elements, and it made the book a fun and entertaining read.

If you like cozy fall romances with a hint of paranormal, then this one is for you! 🍂👻❤️

*Thank you to the author, Hailey Frost for letting me be part of her ARC team! *

I’ve been waiting for the next Wayward Hollow since I finished reading A Love Like Christmas Time last November. I adore Wayward Hollow and am so happy that I discovered Hailey and the series last year. Wayward Hollow gives me such a warm feeling with every book that I read. I should know by now that I will fall in love with the characters and the story. Kylie and Erik, I loved them from the start, and the moment that I started reading their story, I knew that I was in trouble. I wanted to see where their story would lead them.

One of my favorite aspects of this book was the romance between Erik and Kylie and the way those two connected. They belonged together. The way that those took care of one another, and there was no jealousy, no miscommunication, and it just melted my heart, and had me smiling. I’m excited to see what the future holds for two of them and hope they'll make an appearance in the next book. As I said before, I love the community in this series and the way Kylie seemed to fit right in.

Of course, I loved the paranormal aspects of the book, and this time they were even more intriguing due to the added mystery. I’m so glad that I got the chance to read this story! Of course, I loved all the banter between all the characters. I’m excited to read Kieran’s story next!

A Love Like Candle Light by Hailey Frost

If you’re looking for a cozy autumn romance with small-town charm, a little paranormal fun, and found-family vibes, A Love Like Candle Light is such a fun read. It’s the third book in the Wayward Hollow series.

Kylie moves to Wayward Hollow hoping for a peaceful fresh start after leaving her neglectful husband. Instead, she discovers a skeleton in her yard—and apparently, her new home comes with a ghost too! Her quiet new life quickly turns into a mix of mystery, romance, and supernatural chaos.

I loved the community Kylie finds in Wayward Hollow. The friendships are warm, funny, and supportive, and the characters really make the town feel like home. Erik was also a favorite—handsome, protective, supportive, and such a sweet match for Kylie. Their romance develops at a lovely pace and never feels rushed.

The paranormal elements were so much fun, especially the haunting and local lore. Add in the cozy fall atmosphere, and this book is basically the perfect autumn read.

Overall, this was a sweet, funny, cozy, and slightly spooky romance with great friendships, a lovable couple, and plenty of small-town charm. Perfect for anyone who loves fall vibes, paranormal romance, found family, and green-flag heroes! 🍂👻❤️

A huge thank you to Hailey Frost and LoveNotesPR for the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book. I truly enjoyed my time in Wayward Hollow! 💕

This was the coziest of cozy small town romances!! It got me itching for a cool breeze in the air and the color of the leaves to change. This book takes the charm of a small town romance and provides the reader a twist. A dead body in the backyard kind of twist.

We meet Kylie fresh off divorce and ready to start over in a new town. On the first day of unpacking, her dog runs outside to find a dead body buried in her backyard. Soon Kylie has to not only navigate starting over, opening herself up to love again, and figuring out how to cross over the ghost in her new house. Enter Erik, the town sheriff with a traumatic past haunted by the mystery of his sister’s disappearance. Together he and Kylie work together to navigate the unknown. Also there’s charming neighbors and a cute fall festival, of course!

This is the perfect read for someone who loves fall, a little bit of true crime, maybe was obsessed with the ghost whisperer and gilmore girls growing up. Also great for people who love the found family trope!

I loved this Arc!! My only critique was that while the final mystery of Erik’s past is resolved it leaves the door open for a to be continued when I wish there was a flash forward to thoroughly conclude it in a more satisfying way. I hope in the next book we get more updates! I was definitely left wanting more. I will be tuning in and going back to read the previous books.

Thank you LoveNotesPR for my advanced copy!

One of my favorite authors did it again! I absolutely loved the other 2 books in this series but this one is my favorite! It has everything from small town romance, amazing friends, the best animals! If you are looking for a Cozy read for fall I can’t recommend this one enough!! It comes out September 2nd! Thank you so much for the ARC!

🍂Small town romance

🍁Svetty the skeleton found in her yard

🍂Abby the dog named after Abby from the show NCIS( I watch all the time)

🍁She loves True Crime just like me!

🍂She is living with a ghost

🍁She is Just divorced

🍂He is a Sheriff

🍁He’s been searching for his kidnapped sister

Some of my favorite quotes from the book are

“Come on it’s spooky season. You should be glad I didn’t wait until Halloween for this.” He takes out the ouija board out of its packaging and sets it in the middle of my coffee table and the wooden planchette right in the center. I eye it as if it’s poisonous.

“I’ll be your witness, alibi, carry your shovel and help you dig a grave” she shrugs, stumbling with me. “Anything you need. I’m just saying the cadaver dogs recently checked your property. Chances are low they’re gonna do it again anytime soon. Also, I heard the sheriff likes you, you could totally get away with murder.”

“A happy hum escapes the back of my throat. Kissing her is like coming home. Like candle light in the dark, a warm hot chocolate on a cold winter night.”

Going back to Wayward Hollow is like returning home. I love this small town and characters that Hailey has created.

Kylie moves to the last remaining lakeshore mansions in Wayward Hollow for a new beginning and fresh start after she finally said enough is enough and divorced her husband.
She didn't plan to meet the towns police officer/sheriff Erik as early as she did. But when her dog Aby digs up human remains in the garden, fate had other ideas.

I love the paranormal and spooky element all of these books have and the fact everyone just accepts there are ghosts. (I will forever love Chaos) Erik and Kylie hit it off straight away and they progress quite quickly.

For me personally I felt like it moved a bit too quick for me, however I guess when you know you know so why waste time when you can be happy?

Overall it was another great read from Hailey. Another cute autumn cosy read which is just a feel good book. Did I sit with my cup of tea, autumn pjs and under a blanket while reading this? Yes I did because I am here for all the cosy autumn feels.

I can't wait for Kieran's book to come out later this year. Until then, I will be re reading A Love Like Pumpkin Spice while I wait because that was one of my favorite autumn reads last year.

Thank you so much Hailey for the ARC

I was SO happy to be back in Wayward Hollow. There’s something about this little town that feels like coming back to a group of friends you didn’t realize you missed this much. Hailey makes it ridiculously easy to disappear into this world, and I swear I could practically smell the fall leaves and hot chocolate through the pages.

Kylie and Erik were adorable. Their relationship had that easy, comforting feeling that made me want to just sit back and watch them figure each other out. And Erik? Cinnamon roll sheriff with spooky town problems. I’ll take it.

But the friendships may have stolen my heart this time. The instant connection between Nic, Lauren, and Kieran was EVERYTHING, and I loved watching that found family feeling continue to grow. They said "Hey new bestie". I really want to be a part of this friend group.

Also, can we talk about the animals?! I will forever be here for every single furry little addition to this series.

The seasonal theme might be one of my favorite things about Wayward Hollow. Give me a different season, a different romance, some small town nonsense, a dash of paranormal weirdness, and characters I actually want to hang out with, and I’m sold.

Now I just have one problem…
I NEED KIERAN’S STORY. Like, yesterday.

Wayward Hollow has officially become one of those fictional places I’d absolutely move to in a heartbeat!!

ARC Review ‘A Love Like Candle Light’.

Welcome back to Wayward Hollow! This time we find our new beginnings during autumn where we follow Erik and Kylie.
~ Kylie is such a sweet person. Newly divorced, she moves to find herself again, start anew, so moves into a beautiful lake shore house with definitely more skeletons hidden than anticipated.
She didn’t plan whatsoever to find love again so soon.
But when Erik comes to the rescue, things start happening real fast.
~ Erik is part of Wayward Hollows’ police force, serious, keeps mostly to himself.
When he gets called to the Kylie’s house because her dog Abby dug up a bone, he finds out there is more the gorgeous brown haired and doe eyed beauty, and so their love story begins.
Their chemistry is sweet, gentle, even their 🌶️ starts gentle. And the more Kylie comes out of her shell, the more outgoing she becomes, but still in a romantic, playful way.

There is the usual banter involving Nic, Lauren and Kieran, new haunted developments and stories, the gorgeous autumn fall festival decorations at the town square, grumpy Caleb’s coffee and famous cinnamon rolls.

Another gorgeous book in this series I truly enjoyed. And cannot wait for the next installment which finally gives Kieran a taste of love. Yeyyy!!

Thank you to Love Notes PR and the author for the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This one was really tough for me. I thought the premise was adorable and fun - the ghost vibes, the whole finding a dead body in her yard and a splash of romance. The autumn vibes and overall coziness were definitely there and I loved those parts of this.

The e-book version that I read was 524 pages and that was far, far too long for what this was. There were three main plot points: the body that's found in Kylie's yard, the disappearance of one of Erik's immediate family members and their romance. The first two events were sprinkled in, but with long gaps between anything really happening on either end. The romance though is where I struggled a lot, because while these two were adorable when they got together (especially some of their date night ideas)...it was hard to really see that chemistry early on. It just sort of happens but without much build up or tension.

There isn't a third act break-up here, which was really wonderful, but there also really wasn't anything high stakes at all.

If you're in the mood for something light and cozy, this might be a great choice for you. It just didn't quite work for me, despite the cozy fall Gilmore Girls vibes it was giving.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Hailey Frost just does not disappoint! Every time I want to read something that puts me in a fall or Christmas mood I reach for one of her books because they’re absolutely full of characters you’ll love, cute animal companions and of course romance that’s truly hallmark worthy. And A Love Like Candlelight is no different! I immediately related to and loved Kylie, she was bubbly, and she loved fiercely, and while she had been hurt she never lashed out and put that hurt on other she was always happy and rooting for her friends success. And Erik is just a sweetheart, yes he’s got some walls put up due to some unpleasant past experiences and doesn’t let to many people in his close personal circle but those that make it in are people he’s willing to protect and support unconditionally. And omg I literally can’t get over their romance! I mean sparks of attraction fly between Erik and Kylie immediately but watching them slowly fall in love made for such a swoon-worthy read! Honestly I just couldn’t put this one down so if you’re looking for the perfect fall read, with plenty of banter, a beautifully written romance, a ghost story, the perfect amount of spice and a happily ever after then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of A Love Like Candlelight today!

Thank you LoveNotesPR for providing me with this ARC 🥰

Ohmygod this book was incredible!! The story was paced so well and the overall storyline was so good for both characters and their development throughout the story was amazing.
I loved how Kylie stood up for herself and said "no more", left the city, and started over in Wayward Hollow. And even later when the past came back looking for her she stood her ground. She is also so funny.
Her haunted house though and the story surrounding that? That was so good and so emotional as well. But it also made me laugh at times when Kylie started chatting with Svetty when she smashed another door closed or dropped a frame 🤣
Then there's Erik. The sweet, caring and kind man who immediately dropped everything the moment he saw Kylie. His background story was heartbreaking and the search for his sister who disappeared was very emotional too. The ending to that was beautiful.
Also the chemistry between Kylie and Erik was incredible, they fit together so well and they truly deserve their happy ending, together.

I would totally recommend this book to everyone I know.

I also absolutely loved the autumn vibes as someone who's favourite season is autumn. Perfect cozy vibes.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every visit to Wayward Hollow, and I can safely say that my third trip was every bit as delightful as the first two. There’s just something about this little town, and its delightfully spooky happenings that keeps me coming back for more.

One of my favourite things about this instalment was how refreshingly uncomplicated the romance felt. There was no unnecessary BS keeping our couple apart, and honestly? It was SO refreshing. Kylie, Abby, and Erik fit into the existing gang so effortlessly, and I absolutely loved seeing those relationships develop and watching everyone settle into the Wayward Hollow dynamic.

Of course, the spooky ghostie elements were once again a highlight for me. I love the way the paranormal is sprinkled into these stories without taking away from the warmth and cosy vibes of the town. This time around, we also had a couple of mysteries to unravel, which added an extra layer of intrigue and, unexpectedly, some lovely emotional depth.

And now I’m already impatient to come back for our Single Pringle Kieran! Bring on the next visit to Wayward Hollow.

Thank you to the author for an early copy. All opinions are my own.

Erik was such a kind man, so caring and hardworking. I liked how communicative and open and honest they were with each other, it was so refreshing. hearing the history of the town added to the book, it was so fun and intriguing, really liked the mystery vibes mixed in with romance. this was such a good read, so sweet and cosy, perfect for autumn. What a sweet, cozy book, with a little spooky bit, an unexpected plot point, and a sprinkle of spice.

Kylie and her pup Abby are starting over in the quaint little town of Wayward Hollow. During their first outing to explore their new property, Abby takes off into the woods and brings back the surprise of their lives. This leads to Kylie and Erik meeting for the first time, an unplanned sleepover, and the start of their sweet romance.

While they're getting to know each other, Kylie feels inclined to solve the mystery of aforementioned surprise, while Erik has his own family mystery weighing him down. Through it all, the way they care for and support each other is heartwarming. And the cherry on top is there's really more than one happy ending in this story, so do yourself a favor and read it.

This was my first read from Hailey Frost and I enjoyed the writing style, so it won't be my last, and it was also a nice palate cleanser between the darker romances I have a tendency toward.

Rating: 4.5 / 5 stars (here rounded up to 5 stars)

This book had such a cozy vibe, and I completely fell in love with it! 🍂

Even though I’m usually not a fan of the spooky season because I am genuinely scared of everything, I adore fall, so I was more than ready to dive right in. If you love autumn as much as I do, this is an absolute must-read. The true crime side-trope was such a fun addition, and I was fully invested in the mystery from start to finish.

As for the romance? Let's just say Erik is the ultimate book boyfriend. He is loving, caring, and completely unafraid of his feelings. But the absolute best part was the clear, healthy communication between him and Kylie. No frustrating miscommunications, no exhausting misunderstandings, and zero guessing games. It was so refreshing!

On top of that, all the side characters were lovely and bubbly. They were so great that I definitely need to read the other books in the series as well, because I want to get to know all of them even more. Plus, the dual POV is always an automatic plus for me.

Ugh this was such a perfectly cozy fall romance with a touch of mystery! This book is the third installment of this series, I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and absolutely fell in love with the characters and the cozy spooky town of Wayward Hollow.
This book gives all the warm cozy feelings of found family and falling in love with a dash of mystery and a dash of spookiness.

I absolutely adored Kylie and Erik’s relationship and watching them go from strangers to falling in love and becoming each others person was so incredibly special. From Erik being there for Kyle while she navigates the anxiety from her past relationship to Kylie, helping Erik solve a long awaited mystery that has a high personal stake. The two of them make a great team and are a great addition of the town and its close knit community. Plus of course it wouldn’t be the perfect read for spooky season without a haunted house and a mystery corpse the town works together to identify and lay to rest in peace.

I absolutely devoured this book in a few days. What can I say Hailey Frost just knows how to get me in my feels. I fell line and sinker after a few chapters. This book also has helped me through a difficult time and I am forever grateful to the author for providing me with with a feel good, friends to lovers story I could curl up with.

I adore Kylie and Erik together I don’t think I could have pictured Kylie with anyone else other than Erik and I think I may have just found my first ever book boyfriend. He’s perfect. 💋

The more and more I read from Hailey The more I realise I may have found the perfect rom com author and with the right amount of spice. With a group of characters that make me want to meet them and move and find my people to finding true love sounds a great plan.

I had the most fun with the eeriness too. Perfect book!! Highly recommend. Is there anything better than dreaming of autumn whilst reading the most perfect book?? I think not!

Highly recommend if anyone is looking for the best autumnal read whilst we wait for autumn 🍁🍂🥮

Thank for this ARC Hailey Frost
OMG! I really enjoyed the cozy mystery in this book. I love that in chapter one we know a ghost is part of the story. To be honest the first 38% of the story was a bit slow and I wasn’t sure what to expect but after that, I was all in.
Kylie is new in town and when she lets her dog out to her new house’s yard, her dog, Abby, comes back with some bones that look like human bones. She asks for help and when the town sheriff is there she’s amazed by how handsome he is. She can’t stay in the house so Erik, the sheriff, offers her his guest room. Their moments are full of comfort silence, honest answers and love. The love for crime podcasts let Kylie to search about the person who’s buried in her yard. Kylie’s kindness allowed Erik to talk about her missing sister and how long he’s been looking for her. Their relationship is so natural that they feel in love in the most real way.

A Love Like Candle Light

Wow. Welcome back to Wayward Hollow. This is the third book in this series and it was so much fun.

We actually have two different stories, or maybe three, going on here. The love story with our two main characters, a fun ghost/who is it story and a missing person story. All of them obviously centre around Kylie, our FMC, and Erik, our MMC.

Kylie, recently divorced, moves to Wayward Hollow and more or less meets Erik, one of the town's police officers. Sparks fly, subtley at first but as with Hailey's other books in the series, their romance is a sweet, soft and loving journey. There is spice but it's minimal and it works.

I love that there is no 3rd act break-up but instead a full conclusion that ties the three plotlines up nicely. If you love a feel good romance set in a cozy town with a little mystery thrown in for good measure, this book is for you. A wonderful read and high 4 stars for me.

3.75 ⭐️

This was cute and DEFF fall coded. If you’re looking for an escape from the 90-degree weather, this is it. Grab a hot chocolate, light a fall candle, and settle in!

First, I’ll say this book was a tad long, but somehow, even with the length, the pacing still felt a little off. There really wasn’t much buildup to Erik and Kyle’s relationship it went very instalove very quickly.

That being said, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the book because honestly? The relationship was probably the least interesting part for me. I was way more invested in the missing person storyline, the spooky aspects, and all of the side characters.

I also really want to know more about Erik and his family, especially his sister and his dad. But mostly, I’m excited to go back and read all of the friends’ books.

Overall, this was a fun, cozy, spooky fast read.

I'm so happy to received an ARC from Love Notes PR - Thank you so much!

𝑲𝒚𝒍𝒊𝒆 had only just moved to Wayward Hollow when, on her very first night there, she found a skeleton in her yard.
What a start to a new life!

I loved the small town vibes in the fall season and the lovely neighbors who support, help and are always there for one another.
We have cozy fall festivals, bonfires and exciting spooky moments.
The way the paranormal is woven into the story alongside the mystery surrounding the town's lore is just perfect!

The relationship and chemistry between 𝑲𝒚𝒍𝒊𝒆 and 𝑬𝒓𝒊𝒌 is communicative, respectful, supportive and really lovely.

This is such a beautiful autumn small-town read with touches of mystery and paranormal elements.
