Read this in one day because it was too funny and cute and kinda spooky to put down! There’s nothing quite like human remains, a haunted house that seems to hate your ex, a group of silly friends who always have the best snacks, and a sweet and sexy sheriff trying to find his long lost sister to pull you in.
I really loved Kylie and Erik and I’m so thankful for the ARC LoveNotesPR and Hailey Frost! This is such a cute fall romance with the perfect amount of mystery, silly moments and true crime vibes.

Somehow, a backyard skeleton and a haunted house made this feel even more like the perfect fall romance.
I flew through this in a day! Kylie was warm, resilient, and so easy to root for, while the quirky friendships and found-family feel of Wayward Hollow made the setting even more lovable.
Erik completely won me over with his protective, steady nature, and I really liked how naturally he and Kylie clicked. Their relationship was sweet, supportive, and full of easy chemistry, with the mystery surrounding them adding just enough intrigue without overshadowing the romance.
Paranormal anything is usually an immediate “nope” for me, but surprisingly, the ghosts and local lore ended up adding so much charm.
Between the fall atmosphere, humor, mystery, and romance, this was such a fun, cozy escape and another lovely trip back to Wayward Hollow.

A woman rebuilding her life, a suspiciously attractive sheriff, a dog with questionable hobbies, a tiny town full of nosy but lovable people and HUMAN BONES showing up where they absolutely should not be… and somehow we’ve got ourselves a romance. Watching Kailey figuring out who she is outside of her marriage and slowly realizing that she deserves more than what she had before really got to me. She isn’t magically fixed overnight, either. There’s a genuine sense of her finding her confidence again and I loved seeing that happen while she settled into Wayward Hollow.
And then there’s Erik. Sir. The bar is on the floor and you still managed to clear it. He’s protective without being overbearing, patient, attentive and just genuinely there for Kylie. I loved how much care he showed her. Their relationship had that comforting feeling of being with someone who actually pays attention to you instead of making you beg for the bare minimum. Their chemistry definitely brought some fire but honestly, the softer moments got me more. The little acts of care, the reassurance, the way Erik makes Kylie feel safe… yeah, my cold little reader heart was not prepared for all that.
I also really enjoyed the Wayward Hollow crew. The friendships, the small town meddling, the feeling of everyone slowly becoming part of Kylie’s life, it gave the book so much warmth. And Abby? That dog deserves her own spin off because discovering human remains is just another Tuesday in her life. 💀🐕
The mystery and paranormal elements were a fun addition, too. I’m usually VERY selective with anything involving ghosts because my brain immediately starts filing complaints but here they worked surprisingly well with the cozy autumn atmosphere. It gave the romance a little spooky seasoning without completely taking over the story. There were a few moments where the pacing felt a little slower than I wanted and some things wrapped up a bit more neatly than I personally prefer. But overall, this was such an easy, comforting read. It has that “curl up under a blanket while the weather outside is being dramatic” energy and honestly, I support that lifestyle.
Final thoughts: Kylie finding herself. Erik being ridiculously sweet. A murder mystery. Ghostly nonsense. Small town chaos. Autumn everywhere. Pie. Somehow all of this works together. This felt like a warm, cozy romance with just enough mystery and spooky weirdness to keep things interesting. And yes, I would absolutely like my own pie delivering sheriff now. I loved how cozy and comforting this story felt while still giving me just enough mystery, paranormal chaos, banter, and spice to keep me turning pages. And Erik? The cinnamon roll sheriff has officially raised my standards
What really got me, though, was the way this story captured the healing and the finding of a place where you finally feel like you belong. The romance was sweet, swoony, and wonderfully low-angst, while the found-family aspect had my heart in a chokehold.
I’ve read the first two books in the Wayward Hollow series, and this one absolutely did not disappoint! While you can definitely enjoy this book without reading the previous installments, I highly recommend starting from the beginning to fully appreciate the story, the characters, and the charm of Wayward Hollow. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that was just released called, A Love like Candle Light. This is about Kylie, she just got a divorce and is looking for a nice place to start over, so she buys a house in the small town of Wayward Hollow. As she is settling in to her new home, some strange things start happening that make her jokingly wonder if her new house is haunted. And then her dog finds human bones buried in her yard. So she calls the police, and that's how she meets Erik. He's the sheriff of Wayward Hollow and sparks fly instantly between them. But Erik has spent years haunted by a case he was never able to solve and now Kylie is being haunted by her house. These two keep getting pulled together and maybe they are just what each other needs.
This was an absolutely perfect book for fall! It had charming small town vibes, the setting was fall with all the fall things (including a fall festival), and a paranormal spooky storyline! I loved getting both character's pov throughout the story, these Kylie and Erik were so good for each other and it was such a sweet love story. This is book 3 in this series, and I loved getting to see how the characters from the previous books were doing, they were such great side characters. I really love this series, these books are so good and I'm going to be so sad when this series ends! 🧡📚

And ERIK. 😍 The sheriff who falls first, falls hard, and is basically completely gone for Kylie. I loved their dynamic so much. He’s protective, patient, caring, and gives her the kind of attention she had been missing for years.
Their chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥, but I especially loved how the spicy moments also showed trust, tenderness, and how safe Kylie felt with him.

A Love Like Candle Light is the third book of the Wayward Hollow series of Hailey Frost. This time it tells the story of Kylie and Erik.
After 10 years of marriage Kylie has enough of being alone every day. Zach seems to be married to his job for the last few years and she asks for a divorce. When all this is behind she decides to move to Hayward Hollow for a fresh start. But then her dog digs up a human bone in her garden and that's where Erik, the handsome town sheriff comes into her life. As he is struggling to find his sister after she got kidnapped when she was just a child. He starts to open up about his life to Kylie and starts to get feelings for her. But does she feel the same?
I really loved this story. The story is well written and you just want to keep reading. The characters and settings come across as very believable. Erik and Kylie are such a cute couple. It was so nice to see how he was opening up to her and also getting into the friends group as before it looked like he only spent time with his aunt. The mistery around the bones and ghosts were a great twist in this story. A Love Like Candle Light is not only about romance, but also about friendship, trust, emotional healing and family problems (dad in prison, sister kidnapped, annoying mum hihihi).
Fall is actually my favorite season and now I also want an autumn fest as it sounds so much fun but I don't think they do that around here. After reading this story I'm totally in the mood for fall and want to start decorating the house.

When all this is behind she decides to move to Hayward Hollow for a fresh start. But then her dog digs up a human bone in her garden and that's where Erik, the handsome town sheriff comes into her life. As he is struggling to find his sister after she got kidnapped when she was just a child. He starts to open up about his life to Kylie and starts to get feelings for her. But does she feel the same?
I really loved this story. The story is well written and you just want to keep reading. The characters and settings come across as very believable. Erik and Kylie are such a cute couple. It was so nice to see how he was opening up to her and also getting into the friends group as before it looked like he only spent time with his aunt. The mistery around the bones and ghosts were a great twist in this story. A Love Like Candle Light is not only about romance, but also about friendship, trust, emotional healing and family problems (dad in prison, sister kidnapped, annoying mum hihihi).
Fall is actually my favorite season and now I also want an autumn fest as it sounds so much fun but I don't think they do that around here. After reading this story I'm totally in the mood for fall and want to start decorating the house.

I was invited to read and review A Love Like Candle Light by Hailey Frost and instantly fell in love with Wayward Hollow and all its characters.
This book is number 3 in the series but can be read as a standalone which is always a bonus for me.
We have Kylie, who has put herself first and left a marriage which she thought would be forever. Working from home she has the ability to leave the big city life and ends up in a lovely small town with all the normal friendly vibes that come with them. With her dog Abby they move into a cute little new-build and instantly have their world thrown into chaos when Abby discovers a human bones in her garden. Queue lots of curious locals and the hot local sheriff, Erik, offering her a room for the night when she can't stay at her new home.
Along with a budding romance with Erik, a man who treats her like she begged her ex husband to, a ghostly presence who just wants to find her way home and a bunch of friendly neighbours who welcome her with open arms. Kylie finds herself the found family she needed and helps Erik with a case he has been chasing leads on for most of his life.
It is a beautiful blend of autumnal vibes with some paranormal moments and just an all round cosy, low-angst romance. A perfect read to snuggle in your blanket with a pumpkin spiced latte in hand!

Troisième tome de la saga Wayward Hollow et c'est toujours un régal de retourner dans cette petite ville, retrouver les anciens et découvrir les nouveaus héros. Ici, nous sommes sur un cosy mystery avec un slow burn qui saura nous ravir. Je l'ai lu en VO mais il est disponible depuis le 9 septembre en VF.
Kylie décide de repartir de zéro dans une nouvelle ville mais rien ne se passera comme prévu. Récemment divorcée, elle veut reprendre sa vie en main. Elle va acheter une maison et une mauvaise surprise l'attend: la découverte d'os dans son jardin. J'ai aimé retrouver cette communauté, toujours très présente et prompt à aider les nouveaux arrivants. Entre son voisin, Kieran, et les anciens couples des précédents tomes, elle ne sera pas seule. Sa vie amoureuse n'est plus sa priorité mais après son échec avec Zach, elle veut quelqu'un qui sera là pour elle et pour l'épauler. Entre os retouvés, phénomènes étranges et légende autour des origines de la fête de l'automne, elle ne va pas s'ennuyer.
Erik est donc policier dans cette petite ville plutôt paisible. Sa vocation est très personnelle, comme nous le découvrirons, et son passé a forgé l'homme qu'il est devenu. A part chercher les vaches qui se sont enfuis, rien de transcendant ne se passe mais ça risque bien de changer. Il aura cet instinct protecteur qui va vite se déclencher avec notre héroïne. Lui d'habitude aime sa quiétude mais il va vouloir l'aider. Au final, ils vont s'apporter des choses mutuellement et les discussions sont très fluides entre eux. J'ai aimé l'enquête sur les origines de ses os trouvés mais surtout l'histoire derrière et les "explications" sur les phénomènes inexpliqués.
Bref, un nouveau tome qui peut, bien entendu, se lire de manière indépendante et je peux vous dire que j'ai hâte de lire le suivant qui sortira en VO le 13 octobre prochain et en VF le 3 novembre. Une plume fluide qui nous emmène dans cette petite ville et où il suffit de fermer les yeux pour y être transportée.

This was everything I want from a cozy autumn romance. I absolutely loved Kylie and following her as she starts over after her divorce, slowly finding herself again and building a new life in Wayward Hollow. She was so easy to root for and I loved how her story was about more than just finding romance. Her dynamic with Erik was one of my favorite parts because their relationship felt healthy, supportive, and natural, with plenty of chemistry but without unnecessary drama.
The whole atmosphere was perfect, with fall vibes, a spooky house, small-town chaos, found family, sweet dogs, and a murder mystery that gave the story just enough intrigue without taking away from the cozy feeling. 🐾🎃
I loved how the romance, mystery, paranormal elements, and Kylie’s fresh start all worked together, and the writing made it so easy to fly through. BUT… I would have NEVER guessed this was going to turn into a murder mystery! 👀😂 I was both laughing and so confused (in the best way) when the skeleton was discovered in her backyard. Like… excuse me?! 😭💀

Back to Wayward Hollow with another cosy and lovely story! This time we follow Erik and Kylie and I had way to much fun reading their book!
When Kylie files for her divorce she decides to take a step back en buy a house in the small town Wayward Hollow. And from there on the book is one funny and cosy read to dive in. It has a bit of paranormal, it gives small town vibes, finding new love, a bit of adventure and finding new friends. And I was all there for it!
From the first book I was wondering when we were getting Erik his book and now I've read it I am beyond happy with it. It was the perfect story for both Erik and Kylie.
It made me feel warm and fussy and longing for autumn. The fact that Kylie loves true crime so much made it so much more fun to read!
The plot was amazing, the storyline was just what I needed this moment and the spice was yummie!
I can't wait to dive into Kieran his book because I need to know his secrets!

This was the absolute best read to start the fall holidays with. Kylie moves to a small town to start over after the ex husband dropped the ball. Big time. What should’ve been a great beginning starts off with the dog digging up human bones…gulps…yeah, okay. Cuz that’s not creepy. But let’s go one step further. A haunted house to boot!? 🤦🏻♀️ Kylie! What have you gotten yourself into? Omg, this was fun right from the start. Enter that hot sheriff Erik, hello handsome. 🥵
This was the type of story that grabs you, throws you on the fun bus, and says, “let’s take a ride.” I had an absolute blast with this. It was fun and sweet. Cozy and steamy. I loved Kylie and Erik. Hailey Frost's A Love Like Candle Light gives me that first taste of autumn I have been craving. A cute mix of romance, a haunted house, and a centuries old mystery make this book the perfect way to dive into spooky season and embrace the 'ber months.
The story follows Kylie who has just gotten out of a divorce as she moves to the enchanting small town of Wayward Hollow. She is immediately given a warm welcome in the form of a skeleton in her backyard. But man, does it set the ball rolling. as She meets new friends in her next door neighbors (yay found family) as well as the attractive detective (Erik) to comes to the scene.
This book is a love story to autumn and will ease that Gilmore Girls craving as you get to experience the town's autumn festival as well as meet Kylie's ghost friend (she only slams a few doors and such).
This book is exactly what you want in a rom-com. It gives you all those warm fuzzy feelings, especially as Kylie and Erik grow closer together. Hailey does a beautiful job of portraying their green flag relationship through support, communication, and honesty. Given Kylie's past this is really important to the story and it is help as Erik goes through his own family trauma throughout the book.

CUTEST LITTLE FALL READ EVER. I was hooked the second true crime was involved, but then you meet Erik. This Adorable, golden retriever, strong man. I love him dearly. Kylie is an idol to girls who know what they deserve and wont settle for less. This was my first strangers to lovers trope read and it was SO CUTE and quick i honestly was nervous! but Erik and Kylie are exactly who each other needed at this time in their life.

Another brilliant addition to this series! I just love Hayward Hollow and want to move there and be the new friend in this friendship group 😂 this book is where we see town cop Erik get his love interest and I just loved Kylie and Erik. Brilliant plot and just loved the cosy spooky-ness of it with the haunted house vibes. Perfect autumnal read and now I just need book 4!

It was an okay read but everything was just very superficial. I don’t know anything about why Kylie and Erik are attracted to each other and it seems so rushed. The ghost story could’ve been cute but it would’ve needed more depth in my optimism and felt a bit forced. Still, 2 ⭐️ because I liked the setting and it had potential.

I received an ARC of this book. I didn't realize it was part of a series, but don't feel that it was necessary to have read other books first. The story seems very stand-alone.
I thought this book was interesting. It was a little slow for me at first and didn't catch my interest until about 65% of the way through, but then I didn't want to stop reading.
The characters are cute, the story line was great, and overall it was a cute fall read.

I received an ARC.
It was the perfect spooky season read. A small town vibe and a little true crime which is exactly what I’m looking for this time of year.
You can’t help but root for Kylie as she’s starting her life over. And what a better situation than having the sheriff, Erik, always there to help her out. Plus Erik being a sunshine MMC definitely helps to brighten her life through everything.
Can’t wait to read the whole series together at once!

This book was sooo good it has everything, a super cute romance, a wholesome close friend group and two great mysteries and a bunch of pets, I loved it!! I can't wait to read the next book

As much as I like this serie’s, this one felt flat and with no substance. The characters know each other for approximately 5 minutes before falling head over heels. Not mentioning the trauma it must be to finding a skeleton in your backyard ? A bit too much, too quickly.

I adore this series. I think A Love Like Candle Light is my favorite so far. Usually the first of a series is my favorite. Each book I love more and more. There are light paranormal elements. I can't wait to read the next book soon.

The plot sounds like a cozy fall read. Unfortunately, for me it was about 400 pages of nothing, where I basically forced myself to finish the book. Parts of the story dragged on like did we really need a whole chapter of the friend group making s'mores while other parts felt rushed/underdeveloped. I thought Kylie and Erik's relationship progressed quickly, where they went on one date at the fall festival and became official. Then about 1 or two chapters later they're already having sex. The author uses a decent amount of modern terminology, which I personally don't like because it dates the book. For example, “she makes grabby hands” where the author instead could have said “she reaches for ___” or “she gestures for me to hand her ___.” Likewise “divorce was the only endgame” instead of “divorce was our only option.”
There are two mysteries in this book and they both get resolved by chapter 35 but there were still 9 chapters plus and epilogue left?
This next part is me just being very picky, but the the text formatting annoyed me the whole time. The author doesn't indent any of the paragraphs and there's a big space between paragraphs (think almost 2.5 spacing). I don't think I ever really got used to it, but instead just ended up tolerating it.
Overall, I was disappointed by this book and wouldn't re-read. I was expecting a Hallmark type of plot. Instead I thought the author was trying to do too much and because of that, the ideas/storylines were only half baked.

Well, where do I start?
Just by saying, I FREAKING LOVED IT, it's, as every book I've read by Hailey, a masterpiece and left me loving a perfect fictional man. And talking about Kylie, I love her, she's a really good character development throughout the whole book and I fell her so much the entire time, she fells so real and that's something I deeply adore when I read a book by this amazing author.
I'm all over the place already, sorry, I'll come with a better review on IG soon...but for now, I loved every second I read this book and I love these characters so much, and I'd really like to live in Wayward Hollow jsja 🧡🙂↕️✨
