Born from The Screwtape Letters Podcast, this book explores the reality of spiritual warfare in our modern world. In a time when truth is contested and good and evil often trade names, Ian Faith and Galen Balinski call believers to stand with courage, wisdom, and love.
Drawing from Scripture, life experience, and the timeless insights of C. S. Lewis, they reveal how the battle for the soul plays out in everyday life, in our hearts, homes, and culture. With practical insight and biblical conviction, they expose the enemy’s lies, strengthen faith, and help readers walk boldly in the authority of Christ.
Written from a Christian devotional perspective, this book invites followers of Jesus to live with clarity, conviction, and hope in a world that desperately needs light.
Our Aspiration for This Work
This book was born out of a conviction and a calling. It began as a podcast, a journey through C. S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters, and grew into something a shared mission to help people see the reality of spiritual warfare in our day. We are living in a time when truth is contested, when good and evil often trade names, and when courage and conviction are desperately needed among God’s people.
Spiritual warfare is not a distant or dramatic idea. It is the quiet and constant battle for the soul that takes place in our hearts, our homes, and our culture. It is fought in the choices we make, the truths we defend, and the ways we love and serve others. Our desire is to help readers recognize that battle and step into it with wisdom and strength. Our aim is not to provoke or to posture, but to stand with courage, to speak truth in love and equip believers to discern the times. We believe that while evil may take new forms in each generation, the underlying battle remains the same. The same lies, fears, and temptations that Lewis described decades ago still operate today, though they now bear modern forms and emphases.
This book is our humble effort to expose those lies, illuminate the strategies of the enemy, and strengthen believers to walk wisely in a world that desperately needs light. We write as fellow soldiers, not generals. Our intent is not to pick fights, but to stand firm where God has placed us. Jesus declared that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him, and our calling is to stand in that authority with wisdom, clarity, and love. We seek to help readers do the same.
Ian Faith was raised in the United Kingdom within the Catholic and Church of England traditions, experiences that gave him an appreciation for the historic church while grounding his present convictions in a Bible-believing, non-denominational faith. He brings a professional background in the music industry and executive-level marketing, offering insight into the cultural and professional systems that shape the modern world. Galen Balinski was raised attending Baptist churches and came to know the Lord at a young age. He was ordained as a pastor in New York City and later served in a thriving church in Arizona, where he and Ian met. His background in biblical studies, theology, and pastoral ministry provides a foundation for this work.
Though our paths have been different, we now stand united in our faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and Scripture. We write from the perspective of Bible-believing Christianity, seeking to offer a resource that blends heart, reason, and faith, a work that calls believers to courage and wisdom. It is our aspiration that these pages inspire you to live boldly, love truthfully, and confront evil in our time.
