Nia never imagined becoming the fake mistress of a terrifying Fey prince known as the Dream Stalker. But that’s exactly what happens when she ventures into Brocéliande to rescue her lover, Raphael. Sometimes, fate has a twisted sense of humor.
Captured by the prince, Nia quickly learns he’s a beautiful, living nightmare. He soon discovers her hidden talent—mind control—and gives her no choice but to serve him. Avalon Tower believes it’s a good idea, too. Now, Nia is keeping secrets from everyone, and the Dream Stalker remains unaware that she is a spy. His plan? Manipulate ministers, overthrow his father, and annihilate humanity.
Seductive and complex, the prince is a constant threat, always on the verge of getting inside her head. In the Fey palace, courtly intrigue reigns. If Nia can’t outsmart the prince, her neck will be the next on the execution block, and humanity will be crushed in his beautiful hands.

I’m tempted to both review only the graphic audio performance and review the book. I’ve already reviewed the book so, it seems a little redundant. I will paste that below this review of the Graphic Audio.
I have a lot of graphic audio books. I really wish that this some of their more “famous” voice actors appeared in this series, but so far that’s not the case. That’s not a dealbreaker by any means. I might be able to sit through Ben Stein reading these books if necessary because I love them that much. Thankfully, he is not employed by Graphic Audio 😂
As is expected, the background sounds and the atmosphere they create are superb. As Graphic Audio is expected to do, they add another delicious layer to immerse us in the story. Nia and Talan do not sound how I personally think they should, but the regular audiobooks didn’t sound like the characters in my head either (but those are narrated by the amazing Amanda Leigh Cobb, so I suggest those as well!)
So, you should be like me and read the books, listen to the audiobooks and then listen to the Graphic Audio. Each experience increases the richness of this beautiful world.
—————————————— Review of the book/audiobook alone below
In Avalon Tower (Book 1) Nia discovers that she’s a demi-fey. She has reconnected with an old flame who broke her heart. She has rare powers that allow her to manipulate the veil between the fey world and our world. She is taken to Avalon Tower where she is trained to be a spy for the humans in the war against the fey. Oh and her Dad is Mordred - that’s a whole separate issue. She earns Avalon Steel and when they go on a mission to steal a map from the fey prince known as the dream stalker, she discovers that she knows his voice and she has been hearing his voice her entire life. They narrowly escape back through the mist.
We open Veil of Dreams we are on a mission to obtain information (and a portal key) to save Raphael - Nia’s Knight of Round Table lover (the aforementioned heartbreaker). The entire operation is undertaken by women - which I absolutely adore. We get the key, which masquerades as a bracelet. Unfortunately, the portal is already closed and the key is useless. Nia decides that her only hope of getting into the fey realm to save her man is to get the help of her father, Mordred Kingslayer.
Nia eventually finds her way to the fey realm and a series of tense and yet somehow hilarious events unfold. Nia is caught breaking in to the Palace by none other than. The Dream Stalker himself - Talan.
Talan discovers her powers - primal powers- and decides to strike a bargain with her. She has lied (because she can shield her mind) and told him that she is a poor farm girl looking for a nobleman who offered to give her money to help her family. Talan offers an alternative to her made up benefactor and suggests that she move in to the castle, pretend to be his mistress, and use her powers to his advantage. In exchange, she will have plenty of money and her family’s rent will be paid ( now she needs a family and a farm but that will work itself out).
I feel like I have spoiled the first quarter or more of the book, so I’m going to try and stop that now - sorry, but you really should read this series! We go on a series of heart-racing missions and tasks, for both Avalon Tower and The Dream Stalker. After spending all this time with the Dream Stalker, she is starting to wonder if he is as evil as everyone says.
Ok, I’ve left out more than enough to not ruin the book.
I have also listened to the audiobook, narrated by Amanda Leigh Cobb (one of the best narrators ever). I love audiobooks and I especially love the audiobooks for this series.
I can’t recommend this book, this series, and these authors more. Go pick up this series before the fomo gets you!

I did not want to stop listening to this book. I went into this one in love with Raphael and came out of it desperate for Talan.
Raphael was giving me major Dain vibes in this one. Dude she is strong and powerful, she is capable. Stop trying to protect her. And don't even get me started on him "breaking up with her".
This brings me to Talan. This man has my heart, immediately. He's the bad guy, she's there to kill him, to spy on him... Yeah im not convinced hes bad at all, it's all an act and stupid Nia just hasn't figured it out yet. But hey if you don't want him I'll take him 😉🥵

Great continuation of the story, and it is going in the direction I thought it would and I couldn't be happier about it. Can't wait for the next one!
FMC is captured by the Fey Prince/Dream Stalker while breaking Raphael out of the dungeons, she makes a deal with him to be his fake mistress and use her mind reading/control powers to help him. This is the perfect way to spy on the king & prince for Avalon.
It isn't often that you can say that book 2 was better than book 1, but here we are. This has a fast-paced feel. I love the interactions between Nia and the wicked prince, Talan. Not to mention that I absolutely love Christopher Testers' performance as Talan ❤️ Nia is deep in the heart of enemy territory. There are so many questions. Is Talan really as evil as he seems? Can the war be stopped? Will Nia get caught spying? I'm off to read book 3.
I listened to the graphic audio and absolutely devoured it. I NEED the graphic audio for book 3, but it won't be available until April. I suppose that's ok because I ordered physical copies of the entire series when I was half way through book 1 🤣
That's how good it is. But then again, that's how I read every book by C.N. Crawford I've ever read.
This is a great continuation of the storyline with plenty of action and intrigue and growing tension between the two characters…but God dang the voice actors are AWFUL. This book would’ve been so much better read instead of listening to. Almost ruined the whole series for me. Sample before listening!
Another great production by GraphicAudio. 5 stars for them as always. This book was much more captivating than the first one. Still not one of my all time favorite books, but I found myself needing to know what was going to happen. I am very excited for book 3 to be released in GA in April so I can see how this story end.
I dont know if it's because of the dramatized adaption, but this is my favourite read of 2026!! Book one was so damn good, but this was even better!! Screaming, crying, feet kicking and the plot twist of the centuary! My mouth was open so long it dried out. Book 3 (audio) isn't out untill april, but I'll try to wait, eventhough it'll live rent free in my head untill then.
Can confirm—the second book is even better than the first (and the first is highly entertaining). This one had me hoooooooked. And the graphic audio is absolute perfection (but when has that not been the case?). Trying for no spoilers, but man, the Dream Stalker can stalk my dreams any night. Daydreams too, I’m flexible 😜
Æ trur æ sir meg ferdig her og droppe 3 boka
4.5 ⭐️ I didnt realize there was more than 2 books & now I'm stuck BECAUSE WHAT. I loved this one. way better than the first! The growth. & I was correct about something, but I won't say due to spoilers!
Ooooh I had no idea that spy Fey was missing from my life. I am obsessed with this storyline! It was fast paced, intriguing and gripping. I still don't recommend the audiobook, especially the graphic audiobook. The main MMC just doesn't do it for me but the FMC narrator does an excellent job.
It was fun and I liked exploring the fey world a bit more and the spy hoodwinks.
Had a bit of trouble with the twist as twists are a bit sudden but it felt a bit weird. Or maybe not what I was expecting, I will have the listen to the next book to see if I liked it or not. (The twist I mean.)
I’m really enjoying this series! I liked this one even better than the first one! The dynamic between Nia and Talan is so fun and of course the cast of narrators were fantastic! I always love these graphic audios.
🌟3.5🌟I thought I didn’t like book 1, but tried to stick with it because I was intrigued enough to want to know what happens. Turns out, I just didn’t like Raphael. Phew. The Dream Stalker makes an infinitely better MMC.
I have so many questions! Book 2 definitely started to give you insight into the prince, but still left me questioning if he was good or bad! And that ending had me completely surprised. The final GA comes out tomorrow and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book!
I liked this book. The continuation of the story was good and the plot moves rather quickly. There is not a ton of depth but the story is fun and adventurous I also like that it is a combo of fantasy and more modern times.
I am really liking this series. It is packed full of action and secrets. The magical worlds in this are well written and I love the relationships between the characters. I find myself wishing that Talan was good. Can’t wait to see how book three will wrap things up!
Loveddd this one!! I honestly think I would have liked it more as not the GA and just reading bc I feel like the voices “didn’t match” the characters description idk…
Anyways I love Nia, hate Rafael, love talon. I have a feeling Avalon tower isn’t all the “good guy” they say to be???
Need the GA book 3 NOW🫠 might end up reading the physical copy first!!
