About the author

I’m a writer, traveller and hopeful romantic with a lengthy bucket list, and many of my travel adventures have found homes in my novels. I’m also an avid reader, a film buff, a wine lover and a coffee snob.

I am currently on a one-year sabbatical, living and writing across the world, with my partner, Ben, who I met while travelling in Greece. Our real-life love story inspired my debut novel One Summer in Santorini, the first in the five-book Holiday Romance series with One More Chapter, an imprint of HarperCollins.

Also with One More Chapter, is the Christmas Romance series, celebrating my favourite time of the year, and a stand-alone romcom, The Dating Game, set in the world of reality TV.

This was such a fun, feel-good, romantic read!

After a travel company spectacularly messes things up, Delaney and Nick find themselves in sun-soaked Capri whilst their respective partners are stranded in Iceland on what should have been their romantic getaway. Add in Mount Etna erupting and feelings starting to surface, and what more could possibly go wrong?!

I loved the dual POVs from Nick and Delaney. It made their situation feel even more engaging as they tried to navigate the chaos, the chemistry, and everything in between. The pacing was lively and kept me hooked from start to finish. This is one of those books that’s incredibly easy to fly through.

The Capri setting was absolutely perfect and added such a dreamy, escapist vibe to the story. You could really feel the sunshine, the romance, and the what if energy throughout. There were plenty of genuinely funny moments balanced with more emotional ones, which gave the story a lovely depth.

By the end I was absolutely whooping and kicking my legs—romcom perfection.

Also, the epilogue… if you know, you know 😉

A joyful, escapist romance with great chemistry, gorgeous settings, and all the right feels—definitely recommend!

I wanted to love this one so much! But it just didn't hit right we me. I did struggle to get into it from the beginning and took me way too long, considering it's a very short book, but the way the story progressed did not make it better. I did like the couple they met and the feeling of vacation it gave off, but the way they handled the circumstances just did sit right.

The Great Italian Holiday Mix-up from Boldwood Books was a great, easy to read ARC featuring a holiday mix up set in beautiful Capri. I enjoyed the dual POV in this book and watching the connection and relationship grow between Delaney and Nick. The Italian setting was perfect and made you feel like you were there. I’d recommend this book if you love a slow burn, forced proximity, one bed romance. With the extra plus of being set in Italy!

This was a lovely feel good read about two couples who end up with each other’s partners in a different country. Delaney has just landed in the lovely island of Capri when waiting for her partner, in walks Nick who’s expecting to see his partner Pip, but are stuck with each other while there other half’s are in Iceland. It oozes sun, sea and romance, with a sprinkle of spice. The author keeps the book light, it’s a perfect read for a day on the beach. Great characters and liked the way it was written with the dual aspect. A brilliant 5 star read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

Love, love, loved this one. There’s always something comforting about a Sandy Barker book and you’re guaranteed a fab read. This was pure escapism with banter, gorgeous scenery and chemistry on point.

I loved the dual POV aspect as I always do. The characters came alive with the way they are written. The storyline is captivating as they go on their excursions and fight the heat between them. It’s a perfect Summer read and will leave a smile on your face!

Another thoroughly enjoyable read by Sandy that leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling- a sheer delight to read.

This is the perfect holiday romance. I decided to read it because of „Italy“ in its title and I simply love Italy.
The scenery was perfect, I could smell the pizza and taste the limoncello while reading.
Besides the breathtaking scenery the chemistry between Nick and Delaney is unique😍
I love the whole story of the company mixing up the holiday destinations and how they are forced to stay together in a room and all. It is also described really sweet and well how they catch feelings for each other.

I LOVED the ending.
This is a great summer/holiday read and even if you dont read it in vacation, it will take you to Capri.

What if you and your partner filled out a survey about where to spend a romantic vacation and let a computer decide your destination? True North, a travel agency, analyzes the results and reveals your dream vacation site at the airport on the day you are to leave. They only tell you in advance whether to pack for warm weather or cold weather. What could go wrong with that?

Amazingly, Delaney is sent to the cozy island of Capri and can't wait to get settled into her suite, complete with a fully stocked bar, a living room, and a wonderful, large balcony offering panoramic views of the blue waters of the Italian Mediterranean. Tired from her trip and her busy lifestyle as a junior Hollywood movie producer, Delaney opts to luxuriate in a hot bubble bath, foregoing tackling her unpacking and organizing, which she typically addresses upon arrival with OCD-level effort. She eases back into the spacious tub, all ready to soak the 12 hours of traveling away. She hears the hotel door opening, and when she peers out of the bathroom door, she gets a surprise that will change her life and her mystery visitor's life forever.

The Great Italian Holiday Mix-up is a funny, delightful rom-com built on this unique storyline. It is an enticing read filled with descriptions of decadent food, beverages, and the charms of Capri, which made me want to book a vacation there.

The two main characters, Delaney and Nick, who had planned to spend their vacations with other people, are film buffs, and their banter is filled with a list of popular films from the 80s and 90s, which brought back many memories for me.

Author Sandy Barker really writes dialogue well - the two characters go back and forth and tease, observe, and fight so authentically. The author really captures the chaos of vacation plans gone awry through her writing, incorporating dialogue, utilizing short sentences and dual points of view chapters. Even though it seems like their vacation plans are in turmoil, there are little hints that other things in Delaney and Nick's lives are in chaos, too.

Barker has also succeeded in creating very memorable characters. Even her supporting characters, who could easily reappear in a spinoff or sequel, are well defined, and I'm glad I met them. Megan, Delaney's BFF, who is lovingly snarky to Delaney, is always available to rescue her from any crisis. Dan (younger brother and confidant to Nick), Pippa (Nick's fiancée), Nicholas (Delaney's long-distance London boyfriend), Victorrio, (the helpful hotel manager), and Cherie, another tourist, are all fun and help move the story along.

The Great Italian Holiday Mix-Up is a delightful book that will transport you to a beautiful location and make you want cheer on its characters and entertain you with clever dialogue. I am grateful to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC of this book and will read other books by this author.

A Travel Matchmaking Service SNAFU mix-matched two couples. Or did fate jump in an re-match them?
Delaney and Nicholas have been in a long distance relationship for two years.
Nick (short for Nicholas) and Pippa have been together for almost a decade.
They used a travel service where you individually fill out questionnaires. The matchmaking service picks the destination and books your mystery trip to the perfect romantic location. You do not know where you are going until you arrive at the airport. Interesting concept I must admit. Takes the "where should we go" out of the equation for those of us who have a difficult time deciding. [raises hand]

Nick and Nicholas have the same last name which is how the switch-a-roo takes place, sending Delaney and Nick to Capri Italy; Nicholas and Pippa to Reykjavik Iceland.
In the "Things That Don't Always Happen in Real Life" Department they were all traveling separately. It's explained so it makes sense.

Delaney is supper bubbly and spontaneous "Valley Girl" vibes. Her boyfriend Nicholas is an uptight self-absorbed jerk.
Nick is easy going although he's a professional stunt man who enjoys the adrenaline rush. Pippa is more structured and reserved.

To create the Forced Proximity, Mt Etna erupts closing off Capri to travel. The hotel is booked, in fact the entire island is booked so ya, with zero occupancy Delaney and Nick are stuck in the same room. The hotel manager is apologetic, and although it's not the hotels fault, he throws in some passes for touristy attractions. Both being easy spirts they explore the island together.
It doesn't take long for them to realize they have a lot in common and their current long term and longish term relationships are the wrong fit and have gotten complacent. Was this mix-up a disaster or a wake-up call?
Mix in the beautiful location of Capri and all its built in love language.

Me - channeling Jane Austen - "Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others".

My annoyance was the constant references to Delaney being small, tiny, little, etc. I get the petite girl/tall muscular guy painted picture, but it started to feel like if it was movie you'd start a drinking game. Take a shot every time they mention xyz.
TBH that annoys me equally as much when the protagonist is plus size, full figure, nothing fits, overused in the narrative.

Favorite Character: Lorenzo the hotel manager. He could work in my hotel... if I had one!

I'd say Beach Read but I don't always vacay at the beach, so instead: Throw this one in your travel bag for your next vacay. I hope you and your travel partner end up in the same location!

I listened to the audio book. Narration by Nicolette Chin and Ben Higgins. Ben Higgins was :swoon: worthy.

​I truly loved this book, though I have to admit it was a bit hard to get into at the very beginning. I deeply hate cheating and cheaters, and in a way, both main characters find themselves in that orbit here—though it is truly through no fault of their own. However, once the story gets moving, it is absolutely impossible not to fall for Nick and Delaney. The way they are written makes it clear they are simply perfect for each other in a way that feels "something else". The pace was fantastic, keeping the Italian holiday vibes flowing perfectly, and the secondary characters were well-developed and added so much flavor to the story. If you love forced proximity at its finest, this is a top-tier read.
​The Good:
The chemistry between Nick and Delaney is the undeniable heart of this book; their connection feels earned and authentic despite the "mix-up" nature of their meeting. The Italian setting is described so vividly that you can practically feel the sun and taste the food, making it the perfect armchair travel escape. The forced proximity trope is handled with just the right amount of tension and charm, and the pacing ensures there is never a dull moment in their journey.
​The Not So Good:
The initial hurdle of the cheating-adjacent setup might be a bit jarring for readers who, like me, have a strong aversion to that theme. While the author handles it well and moves past it quickly to show the characters' integrity, the very beginning requires a little bit of "pushing through" to get to the beautiful romance at the center.

Having read some of Sandy’s other books, I knew I would be in for a treat - & I wasn’t disappointed. Quickly drawn in, I couldn’t put it down & finished reading in a day!

Each of the main characters, Nick & Delaney, had holidays booked for themselves & their partners through True North, an agency which promised to deliver the ideal holiday for each couple. However, there was an mix-up with unfortunate consequences; when Nick arrived at his hotel suite in Capri he was surprised to find a strange woman in the room (Delaney!) & that his fiancée Pippa was not there. By the time they find out where the agency has sent their partners, a change in circumstances means they are now stuck on the island, & with no other hotel rooms available anywhere! Forced to spend time together, Delaney & Nick strike up an easy friendship, finding they have things in common as both work in the film industry. There’s an undeniable spark between them, an attraction that deepens as the week goes on. I really liked Delaney & Nick, & I loved their easy conversation with their observations on human behaviour, & the way they saw opportunities for locations for film scenes. Capri sounds like a gorgeous place for a holiday, the author’s descriptions beautifully conveyed the sights, sounds & aromas of Capri, & I loved touring the island with Delaney & Nick on the excursions organised for them by True North.

It’s an engaging story. I loved the basic premise & really enjoyed this book. I thought that Delaney & Nick were likeable & believable, & I loved how the spice quickly ramped up between them despite their loyalty to their partners & their attempts to resist. It’s great fun, and is a great summer read.

Summary:
Delaney and Nick have planned a romantic vacation with a mystery travel vacation service. They each separately were 'matched' for a getaway on the island of Capri. Upon arrival, they are led to the same resort and room... there's just one problem... they aren't together. In fact, they don't even know each other! The service had a mix-up and mistakenly sent them to Capri while sending their respective partners to Reykjavik, Iceland!

Now, stuck together in the same room (with one bed, no less!), Delaney and Nick are each trying to get flights back to their partners... until Mt. Etna has a mini eruption and they're stuck. Will they make the best of the beautiful trip and all its amenities while ignoring their immediate chemistry??

Review:
If you're looking for an easy, light-hearted rom com set on a gorgeous Italian island, with very likeable main characters, this one is for you! I loved the chemistry between Nick and Delaney, and also that they were both in the film industry. While this story in no way encourages infidelity, it was so sweet how both Nick and Delaney were able to forge a sort of friendship and analyze their current relationships with each other, which of course, is easier done with an outside perspective. I loved the descriptions of the excursions the two did, while the added fun of forced proximity (due to the Mt. Etna eruption) is always a plus. I enjoyed this one and would definitely try more books by the author!

Easy, entertaining romances are some of my favorite reads to slot in between heavier genres, and this one did not disappoint. The premise is fun right from the start: our main couple set off on vacation with their respective partners-only to end up stranded together at the destination, while the other halves end up elsewhere… together.

Add an erupting volcano to the mix, and leaving is suddenly no longer an option. Forced to share a room and spend time together, they slowly start getting to know one another, and it quickly becomes clear that their connection is stronger than it should be under the circumstances.

Forced proximity is a trope I really enjoy when it’s done well, and this book handled it perfectly for me. The banter between them was apleasure, and I loved watching their relationship develop at a natural pace. The physical attraction was present, but it stayed mostly in the background, allowing their conversations and emotional connection to take center stage.

What I especially appreciated was that their existing relationships weren’t glossed over or ignored. Instead, they were openly acknowledged, and both characters had to ask themselves and each other some difficult questions about what they really wanted, and where they stood. That honesty made the story feel much more realistic.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and ended up reading it in one sitting. Both main characters were a joy to follow as they slowly fell for each other, a little more each day. If you’re looking for a relatively short, engaging, and easy-to-love romance, this might be just the book for you.

Sandy Barker has essentially created, not only a love letter to Capri, but also a gift-wrapped holiday read that ticks all the boxes for a glorious piece of sun-kissed, beach-reading joy!

Super-bubbly Delaney and stoic stuntman Nick find themselves thrown together when the travel company they've used to book the "perfect" romantic getaway, mistakenly pairs them on an idyllic Italian holiday. And while they try to figure out this debacle, their partners have both been sent off to the freezing climes of Reykjavik!!

And then ... wouldn't you know it, the Universe steps in with her own plot twist to ensure that rectifying matters is not as simple as just booking a couple of new flights and deciding who will meet who halfway!!

I adored this book! The vivid descriptions of the sights, sounds and tastes of Capri were absolutely heavenly. As for the characters? The banter was hilarious at times, but perfectly balanced. The author didn't at any time make light of the complicated situation that all of the parties found themselves in.

Of course, with the story being told from the two POV's of our main characters, perhaps we don't see their partners in the most positive light, and we don't get to understand them or their behaviour. But maybe we'll meet them in future stories?

I highly recommend this one. Soak in the atmosphere. Absorb the ambience. And then go and treat yourself to some delicious, refreshing Limoncello!! 🍋

Delaney and Nick are traveling to their dream destination of Capri, meeting their respective partners on a summer holiday. When they arrive, they realize that their partners are not in Capri, but in fact in their dream holiday destination of Iceland. A volcanic eruption causes travel delays; Delaney and Nick decide to take advantage of their time in Capri and explore the island.

As they get to learn more about each other, they start to wonder if it was meant to be for them both to be in Capri.

I thought the meet cute of the story with travel was fun, and it draws us to the story as we get to know more about Delaney and Nick. There were great romcom moments, but we also saw the complicated and conflicting emotions both Delaney and Nick feel. I thought these were well-balanced throughout the story as well as the build of their connection being well-paced.

I enjoyed all the references to It Happened One Night and the other movie references as they both work in the film industry. I enjoyed how they both found connection through their passion for movies and the goals they have for their own careers (Nick as a screenwriter and Delaney as a producer). Similar to Delaney, I like character driven stories in books and film as well.

The setting of Capri was vividly described as well. Capri has been on my travel list! The novel is a fun travel escape with all the elements of our favorite RomComs!

I have mixed feelings about this book. It's not even (totally) because our hero and heroine are both in relationships when they first meet. But rather than it's pretty obvious that both of them should have broken up with those partners already. In the case of Nick, not only is the relationship dead in the water, but they are still engaged, his fiancée is planning a secret wedding, and they've been together 12 years. Still, Delaney and Nick work as a couple; it's just a shame that he's been such a crap partner to his current fiancée.
This is a round-up to four stars, because I did actually enjoy the story and the writing; it was just a few characteristics of the main characters that I had issues with. There were also a few things that seemed as though they might be significant, but that came to nothing. Nick made a big deal out of his parents and what they would think, but then they weren't invited to his would-be wedding. It didn't seem to make sense.
Having said all of that, the push and pull between Delaney and Nick and how they tried to deal with their feelings was great, and I really enjoyed that side of things. This was a book that I wanted to keep reading and find out what was going to happen. Hence, the higher rating than might have been suggested by the start of my review.
More than anything, I think I enjoyed that this book made me question what I look for in a romance and what I'm prepared to forgive and accept and under what circumstances. That's much more than most in the genre manage to do.

This one is chaotic vacation energy in the best way and i had so much fun with it.


it's basically built on that "this trip is not going how it was supposed to... at all" premise, and from the start you can already feel things about to spiral in a very entertaining, slightly messy way. think mix ups, mistaken plans, unexpected people, and just vibes.


The setting? Carried.
Italy is doing a LOT here and i love it
🍝 sunshine + food descriptions that will make you go hunry
🍝 cute towns, seaside views, that whole "I should book a fight" feeling
🍝very much romanticized travel diary but make it fiction

the romance is light but cute, it's not super
intense or angsty, more like:
💗 accidental connection
💗 a little awkward, a little flirty
💗 grows on you as the story goes


What i liked is that it doesn't take itself too seriously, It leans into the chaos and lets the characters figure things out as they go, which makes it feel kind of spontaneous and fun instead of overly structured.

If I'm being honest:
• some plot points are very convenient
• not super deep emotionally
• you kind of know things will work out


but also... that's the point. it's a holiday book. it's supposed to feel easy and a little unrealistic.


Overall:
🌷 messy but fun storyline
🌷 strong travel vibes (pack your bags immediately)
🌷 light romance + feel good tone
🌷perfect "switch off your brain" read

This is the kind of book you read when you want to feel like you've gone somewhere without actually leaving your couch.

I'm torn on my feelings on Nick & Delaney's story... on the one hand, I LOVED it... I loved their chemistry...and the depth of their discussions and connection, understanding of each other, etc... but on the other hand, I really hated how they continued to pursue their connection even knowing they were both promised to someone else. I wish they had broken up with their significant others sooner.. (yes, I know all they did was kiss before they were free of commitments... but still, the depth of their emotional intimacy... I do count as cheating, because they truly fell in love there in Capri... while committed to others).

That said.... the location is amazing...who wouldn't want a dreamy vacation on the island of Capri?? Makes me want to go there, for sure... the drinks...and food...and views....

I loved the witty banter...about movies, and books, and screenplays... the book is incredibly well written...the depth of feeling regarding The Breakfast Club & the emotions that it invokes... 💋💋

I also love how they do go & shoot their movie there later, and include the innkeeper & the limoncello maker,. 🤩 And I love the ending... almost wish more of the book was spent on their post breakup time together...

Spice level:🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Not a lot of spice, there's one bedroom scene near the end of the book, and a couple kisses...but I still gave it 3 stars b/c it's open door and there are some other moments in the book where there's explicit mentions.)

When two couples use a travel agency that has them complete surveys so they can plan the perfect couples' holiday for them - unknown until you get to the airport - there's a mix up. Nick thinks he's meeting his fiancee, Pippa, and Delaney expects to be meeting her boyfriend, Nicholas. Neither of the couples traveled together - Nick was on location prior to the trip and Delaney and Nicholas are doing long distance so they had no clue they were sent to different places until Nick goes into Delaney's room, expecting it to be empty since Pippa wouldn't have landed yet. Then they discover that their SOs are in Reykjavík while they're in Capri. Outside forces intervene so they end up stuck together in the same room and have to come to terms with the fact that they seem to be having more fun together than they ever did with their partners.

This is told from both Nick and Delaney's POVs. I do think it would be interesting to have some from Pippa and Nicholas tossed in, but you do get some information about what's going on in Reykjavík as they call/text their SOs. I loved the idea of the travel agency that caused the mixup as it made it a bit more realistic (also, I would totally sign up for that!). I also loved that, while Nick and Delaney were attracted to each other, they kept reminding themselves they weren't cheaters. I found that very refreshing. The location of Capri for these two was a fabulous choice as there were so many fun bits about the island mixed into the story. And I also loved that their SOs ended up in such a completely different place, highlighting their differences. This was my first book by Sandy Barker and I'm sure it won't be my last. It's a perfect beach read!

Sunny Italy holiday,great suite and...wrong Nicholas James. Delaney boyfriend have the same name,and by mistake he end up Reykjavík.Delaney didn't expect to spent her hard earned holiday with the stranger,and certainly not sharing room together,but the more she get to know Nick,the more they realise how much in common they have.Nick should be on holiday with his fiance,instead he end's up with this full of life american girl who is just to good to be true.Both trying to fight this attraction,but in this sun-soaked Isle of Capri anything can happens.Maybe fate step in and Delaney got the right Nicholas James?

Fun and sunny rom com that left me with the smile on my face.Both characters not available yet attracted to each other,and fighting it.Told from both POV,we get a picture of their relationship and how is it in real life.Nick have this long term commitment,but it doesn't seem as the forever one.Delaney on the other hand have a long distance relationship that seem to be more one sided.I liked how Delaney and Nick got to really know each other,and while with other people they didn't cross the line.I adored the description of Isle of Capri,I could just picture the blue water and hot morning,which made me miss summer. This slow burn romance with some fun added to it was my first by this author,and I hope to read more in the future.

For fans of rom com and sunny holidays this is the perfect choice.

This is a really fun little read, perfect to get you dreaming of your summer holidays, and where shall we go? Capri!
Delaney and Nick are both in a relationship, with Nicholas and Pippa respectively. They have all completed questionnaires with a travel company who claim to be able to send you on your dream vacation - lush right, well, as it turns out Delaney and Nick's ideal holiday is Capri, and Nicholas and Pippa's is Iceland, oh and Nick and Nicholas just happen to have the exact same full name, so guess who ends up where... We end up in a forced proximity, one-bed romcom, with hilarious locals, sweet fellow tourists, and a whole lot of Limoncello! There is lots to like here, the island is described beautifully, and the excursions sound amazing. The characters have a lot of emotional depth, both having their insecurities and finding an instant chemistry.
I enjoyed the screenplay aspect, I learned some things I didn't know before. I thought it added an extra layer to the relationship between Delaney and Nick.
I like my romances to have a good deal of spice in them, this is not that, there is a couple of references earlier on, but nothing explicit until very late on, and by that point I don't think it needed it as I was more invested in the sweetness of the relationship.
I always say I love an epilogue, so it was beautiful to get that here, I would have liked it to be extended just a little though.
It's a quick read, and the author does people very well. This is the second book I've read from her, and I would definitely read more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, though I must admit that the initial chapters posed a bit of a challenge for me to fully engage with. Nevertheless, I am grateful that I pushed through, as the second half of the book proved to be incredibly rewarding and captivating.

The story follows Delaney and Nick, who are both embarking on a journey to their dream vacation spots, eager to reconnect with their long-distance partners during a much-anticipated summer holiday. Their paths cross unexpectedly on a ferry bound for the picturesque island of Capri, a place known for its stunning coastal views and vibrant culture. However, to their surprise, they soon discover that their partners are not in Capri as they had assumed, but are actually in their true dream destination—breathtaking Iceland, famous for its dramatic landscapes and natural wonders.

The connection between Nick and Delaney is palpable and adds depth to the story. What I especially appreciated was how the author chose to portray their existing relationships with sincerity; they were not simply forgotten or brushed aside as the plot progressed. Instead, the complexities of love, loyalty, and the thrill of new connections were woven skillfully into the storyline.

Overall, the book paints vivid imagery of alluring destinations like Capri, making it an essential read for anyone who loves travel and seeks inspiration for their next adventure!

Nick and Delaney believe they’ve each planned the perfect surprise holiday with their respective partners, only to arrive and discover they’ve been sent to the wrong destination and with the wrong person. Stranded together on the Isle of Capri, they are forced to share a room and make the most of an unexpected situation. As they spend time together, their assumptions about their relationships begin to shift in surprising ways. This was a really enjoyable and entertaining read, with strong character development that kept me engaged throughout. I especially liked the dual perspective, seeing parts of the story through both Delaney and Nick’s perspective. This added an extra layer of depth and made the unfolding relationships more compelling. One of the standout elements for me was how naturally the characters grew to like each other over time. Their dynamic felt believable and satisfying, rather than rushed.
Delaney’s character was particularly interesting. I appreciated how her time in Italy gave her the space to reflect on her relationship with her fiancé. His flaws became more apparent the more time she spent with Nick. Overall, this was a fun, well-written story with engaging characters and a strong sense of development.

Oh my gosh this was such a light read just what I needed. I feel like I’ve been so emotional lately. I’m not sure what’s going on other than stress but this book was just what I needed.

I love the title and even more that it’s in Italy. Gosh I want to go so badly. My in laws are taking a trip and going to Paris and London and all the places I’m so jealous!!!

I loved this book. Delaney lands in Capri for a trip with her boyfriend well he doesn’t show up Nick does and he’s expecting to see his girlfriend Pip ( love this name ) they get stuck together while there partners are in Iceland !! I mean what would you do in this situation? This was such a light fun book !! The chemistry was fire and I loved how they tried to fight it !!

I love a book with a dual POV it’s seriously my favorite way to read a book makes it so much better hearing from multiple people!!

This is the type of book I’ll be reading again at the beach this summer !!!

Overall this is a book that will leave you smiling and not even realize it I know it did for me !! Absolute gem !! I can’t wait to buy so I can read at the beach !!!

I have always been a book lover, and romance has been my favorite genre for years. Over time, I have found certain tropes that consistently pull me in, and forced proximity is definitely one that has been growing on me lately. Because of that, and how much I enjoyed “My Big Greek Island Ex-Scape,” I was really excited to pick up this book.

This story grabbed my attention right from the very beginning. The premise was so intriguing, and once everything started unfolding, I was completely hooked. There were so many moments that made me laugh, but it also had its fair share of emotional scenes that really pulled at my heart. I especially appreciated how the characters were written and how their situations were handled. Even when the story touched on more sensitive topics, everything was approached with care, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It had the perfect balance of humor and heart, and the ending left me feeling satisfied. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for what this author writes next.

This was a story that was inviting and easy to get pulled into. I really loved the setting on Capri and thought it was described beautifully. It was like going on vacation! The book brings us a scenario where 2 different couples use a travel planning company to find the perfect destination, only for them to accidentally get paired with each other’s partners in completely different countries. The characters who ended up in Capri, Delaney and Nick, were easy to relate to and like. I will say that I was a bit uncomfortable with some of the things happening between the two of them since they were both in other relationships. It helped though that both of their conflicted feelings about this were portrayed well, and things didn’t go as far as they potentially could have. For readers who are triggered by any type of cheating, this might not be the right book for you. All that said, this was still a couple that I liked and was rooting for. I also enjoyed both characters’ passion about movies.

Delaney and Nick arrive in Capri expecting to meet their respective partners for a surprise holiday - but find that, due to a mixup, they are sharing a room whilst their partners are in Reykjavik. Things go from bad to worse when they find that they are marooned on the island for the foreseeable future.
I write this review here in the UK where it is a very grey and chilly early Spring day and the setting of Capri brought a little bit of sunshine into my life. Both Delaney and Nick come across as nice people and I struggled to see how they were in their respective long distance relationships. They both work in the film industry, Nick as a stunt coordinator and Delaney as a producer, so they started with something in common. I also loved reading about the setting, which I've not had the opportunity to visit although I'd love to. A fun romcom to enjoy and brighten your spirits.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

💭 My Thoughts 💭

Italy and the island of Capri was a lovely setting for Delaney and Nick’s story to come to life. I really enjoyed the pace of the story as well as how we got both characters points of view split through the chapters.
As well as reading books I also have a huge passion for movies so the fact both characters worked in the movie industry and lots of films were referred to was a great element for me.
Reykjavik Iceland being mentioned as a destination too was wonderful as I’ve mentioned before in my reviews it’s somewhere that means a lot to me.
The story was really easy to follow and I enjoyed the reading experience overall.
