Isabella He was just suppose to be my roommate. I never thought that accepting his offer was going to have me questioned by the police and on the next flight to Russia. Slade was a quiet and introverted individual like myself but in reality he was just hiding his true self. He’s a pathological sinner who will doing anything to get what he wants. And his eyes are set on me.
Slade I was on a mission when I first saw her. I knew that she was going to be perfect for my plan. An obedient little book worm who’s going to help me win the crown. I shouldn’t have acted on impulse but I never knew how to control myself. Living in a world full of darkness and blood made me different from the rest. Isabella will soon learn that.
Writing beautifully flawed characters with every word, Jaclin Marie shows how the morally gray isn’t the villain in every story.
She’s always loved seeing the good in everyone, even the awful characters that society frowns upon.Writing her own stories makes the her readers love the flawed parts of her characters.
She started writing when she was 16 during Covid. She found comfort in the stories she would read from her favorite authors and one day she decided to write her own story.
Ever since she has been publishing and writing books left and right. Creating beautiful and unique stories is her passion. She can’t see herself ever stopping.
“Who knew the girl with her nose stuck in a book would fall in love with the devil of the dark?”
thank you so much jaclin babes for the opportunity to arc read this book 🫶🏼 ugh i absolutely adored these characters and their story. their chemistry is so electric and i’m completely obsessed 😩 that nostalgic feeling came rushing back for some reason while i was reading and i literally would do anything to get that feeling back
this is a dark romance, serial killer bratva prince + thriller author, roommates, forced marriage, kidnapping, primal play, masked man, stalker, violence, blood, torture, duo pov, and book one in interconnected series 🖤
the moment slade saw isabella with her head in a book, unaware of the danger trailing her … he immediately became intrigued ☺️ but when he derails his mission to save her, he becomes completely obsessed and he’s not letting go of the one thing that fits into his perfect plan 😳 as the dark bratva prince, his upbringing was nothing but violence. his father was ruthless on him and slade’s views to the world just flipped upside down. he did something that no one can ever find out about. if they do … that just means death. and now that he has the one thing he can’t live without, the stress and constant worrying leads him to spiral 🥺 isabella is a just a regular day to day thriller author working on her next release. when she meets her roommate, she never would’ve thought her life would turn out to be like this. she writes thrillers for a living, but to be living in one … that’s an entirely different thing 😩 now she finds herself tired down to a lifestyle she only thought was possible in fiction 😱 but when her stalker from many years ago comes popping up again, slade makes the impulsive decision to hide her away. only to have to come face to face with the past once again 👀
i can’t get enough of jaclin’s writing !! literally couldn’t stop reading this from the second i picked it up 🤩
slade and isabella come from two very different backgrounds, but these two couldn’t be more for each other 😍 they fit like two peas in a pod, the perfect puzzle piece to make it whole, opposites attract. ugh they’re so hot and sexy 🥰 the things coming out of this man’s mouth should be studied 😭 THE LANGUAGE SWITCH UP MID SENTENCE ??! yeah i melted
what do i have to do to be able to read this again for the first time ?!!
ARC REVIEW- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pathological Sinner had me in a chokehold. It’s dark, intense and a roller coaster of emotions. The LI being Russian? Say less, I mean who doesn’t love a Russian man? There may be some things that Slade does that not everyone may agree with but that’s exactly why it’s a DARK romance so definitely check the trigger warnings before diving in because it may get heavy. I also love that Isabella is a book lover so we can absolutely connect to her in a way. There’s also character development so be patient for that. BUT overall if you love dark romance with flawed, complex characters, this is for you. Oh! It also has a good amount of spice. 😉
ARC Revjew 🤍 • Well…..I don’t know how to make this review 😂 • First of all don’t you dare just think it’s just a roommate romance cause it ISNT! I find it so sweet to start with how Slade was just a man….but a MYSTERIOUS SERIAL KILLER!!! Isabella lived with him not knowing his true colour……I felt so bad for Isabella, knowing what she would go through. This book is the most questionable based on acts….I had to process things and question morals. This book has actions, a lot of SPICE including gun-play, primal play & At least some sweetness moments! Tropes includes roommates of course, Kidnap, Forced Marriage, Mafia Romance. • Isabella is an author who write thriller and tries to include romance. Trust me, she’s as much bookworm as many of us! This book is perfect to understand why characters loves to read. Even Slade is a bookworms helping her with sudden ideas…yeah well 😂🌸 • Slade is the sweetest, funniest, mysterious in the most TWISTED way possible. Either you hate him or love him. Up to you, I feel bad for Isabella but I understand why he did what he did but it’s pretty controversial. 😉🌸 • This isn’t just spice but SMUT! It’s one of the smuttest ARC I have read…..I enjoyed it every single second ven thought it was so QUESTIONABLE ! 😮💨❤️ • Plot is the best one and it’s restless mentally! If you want to fee the same way I did. Then this book is perfect for you but please be aware of trigger warning with your own risk because Slade is so twist and very messed up based how much he is obsessed with Isabella!! So please be patient with Slade 💝 • Jaclin! Your writing is masterpiece, chapter length is so perfect…keep going and don’t listen to haters!
Therefore your book deserves a 5 stars ⭐️🌸 • Stars: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Smut: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ + 🔥 = ♾️
Jaclin my beautiful bestie you have done it again I appreciate you for giving me the opportunity to read your new Russian series like I have fell inlove with Isabella and slade soon as he saw her I knew this was going to be next favorite couple.
“The moment I saw her and she let out that scream for help and begged me to let her go, I got obsessed”
“My sweet innocent little bookworm has no clue she’s living with a Murder”
“TVOYA KISKA NA VKUS KAK MOYA.”
Isabella and Slade story had me in a chokehold cause when you seen the roommate romance your thinking it’s just one of those type of books but guess what it’s not. It’s dark, intense and a huge roller coaster of emotions. If you want a book where the fmc is a best selling author and the Mmc is psycho Russian mafia man who you have to live with in has the tropes that gonna make you want to read this book so fast then pathological sinners is the book for you I would love to recommend it cause it’s so crazy and having you kicking your feet, blushing and having your jaw on the floor. Tropes: -Roommates -Mafia Romance -Author X Serial Killer -Forced Marriage -Primary Play -Interconnected Series
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pathological sinner > I saw a video about a scene from this book and I was instantly hooked! Some books can really lift our reading slumps, and this one did just that! It was beautifully written and I really enjoyed reading it. The stalking part and the roommate’s flirty romance with secrets were really intriguing. Slade Rykov, the rich daddy! 🔥I loved how possessive and obsessed he was with Isabella, ‘you are mine’. So fine! While Isabella irritated me a bit by always arguing him for being protective. Other than that i really enjoyed their story !!
Overall, it was a really good read with great plot twists, suspense and drama! And good amount of spice!🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: Dark romance Stalking Touch her and die He falls first Roommate & FWB
The plot itself was genuinely good, I loved the overall concept and found the storyline refreshing and different, which made it an enjoyable read. I also really liked the chemistry between the main characters; their dynamic worked well, and the writing style itself was strong and engaging throughout.
I especially enjoyed the small teasers of his brothers, particularly Ryker. He caught my attention almost immediately, and I found myself wanting to know more about him, which I think speaks to how well those side characters were introduced.
That said, the pacing felt very fast, especially at the beginning. It almost felt like I had only just started reading when suddenly we were already at the “you’re mine” stage, which made it feel as though I’d skipped several chapters. While I do understand that his feelings could realistically develop quickly due to his obsessive nature and the fact that he had done extensive research on her, emotionally it still felt rushed, even if it wasn’t entirely out of nowhere.
I also felt that some moments could have been developed further, particularly when he took her to Russia. Her discomfort and dislike of the situation were touched on briefly, but I wanted more depth there. I wanted to really sit in her emotions, to understand her fear, frustration, and resistance, but it moved on too quickly for me to fully connect with her.
At times, it felt like she gave in too easily, even when she was clearly angry or cursing him out. I would have loved to see more tension, more pushback, and for her to truly stand her ground before giving in. That added resistance would have made their dynamic feel more intense and emotionally satisfying.
Overall, it was a good and fast-paced read, even if it was briefly interrupted by a bit of a reading slump for me. I did enjoy it, and I would still recommend it, there were just certain aspects that held it back from fully hitting the emotional depth I was hoping for.
Thank you to Jaclin Marie for the opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!! Trigger warnings The novel contains dark themes, including manipulation, obsession, violence, and criminal investigation. If intense depictions of coercive relationships or physical harm are upsetting, approach with caution. Brief Overview: Pathological Sinner centers around Isabella, a quiet, book-loving young woman whose life is upended when she takes in a roommate, Slade. What begins as a low-stakes living arrangement quickly turns dangerous: Slade is revealed to be a driven figure whose “plan” pulls Isabella into a world of moral compromise, obsession, and violence that spans continents. The story tracks the psychological push-and-pull between predator and prey, and the ways Isabella both resists and adapts. Characters: Slade: The antagonist is effective because he’s layered—on the surface quiet and brooding, beneath it a calculating strategist. He is written as a magnetic and terrifying, a classic morally grey character who’s easier to admire than to forgive. That charisma is what really drove the book home in my opinion.
Isabella: As focal point and conscience, Isabella’s arc is the novel’s moral fulcrum. Early chapters give us a tangible sense of her interior life (reading, routines), which makes her downward spiral feel personal. At times, the choices she made frustrated me as the reader; some scenes rely on the trope of the bewildered female lead who repeatedly misreads danger—but those frustrations feel intentional, part of the book’s study of coercion.
hated the protagonist (isabella), hated the dialogs and most of all i hated the writing style… for example:
He is cooking lunch for me right now. He’s making me a rice bowl with chicken and other vegetables. He just finished cooking the chicken and now we’re waiting on the rice to finish so he can put everything together.
what even was this, im sorry but wtf
it was so obivous that slade was the serial killer, could not unterstand how she did not notice it
