Excellent mood uplifting storyline. Engaging with the residents of Havenwood, just be prepared for lots of laughter, especially sassy smart mouth Luna, while Harper, Bella, Isabella will draw you into their latest quest, this time hunting for a haunted /cursed pirate treasure. An ancient pirate gold coin, Granny Bea's cryptic clues, i.e. a note and a weird magnet. Spellbooks is tight lipped, but hinted at mischief makers, but Agatha is under a vow of silence. Sleuthing leads to a clue of a prank with feathers and peanutbutter. With Isabella looped into the fray, they pull an ingenious heist. Needless to say that this leads to even more hilarious things, riddles, a sentinent portrait, etc that will keep you turning the pages, whilst not wanting it to end. After gobbling up this book, I'm still having a good laugh. I received a complimentary copy from the author and leave this review voluntary Thank you Liz.
After finding some cursed gold in the previous book, Harper is worried that there are some more cursed coins around. She decides to try and find them. When Spellbooks can’t really give her any information, she checks with Granny Bea’s best friend Agatha. Agatha has had a silence spell put on her (willingly) and has no more information. Just a couple of interesting stories. With the help of Bella, Harper starts checking things out. This book has a cute little mystery, mainly focussing on Harper and Bella’s search for the missing gold. There is magic, humour and mystery all put together wonderfully in this cute little book. A fun quick read. Every book I’ve read in the Havenwood series is just wonderful.
For a short story, there's a lot going on. A hunt for lost pirate gold, bribery of town staff via pastries, and that's not even the halfway point. If the past few months of life in Havenwood have taught Harper anything, nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems. Luckily for her, she has a small group of loyal friends eager to help her in her quest to find the rest of the missing gold, even if it involves a little sneaking around and solving riddles. I read the entire story in one sitting, and probably could have finished it even sooner than I did, but I was torn between wanting to know how the story turned out & enjoying all the twists and turns, that I didn't want it to end.
Harper keeps thinking about these cursed coins…what if an innocent stumbles upon them? Where are they? Finally she decides she can’t rest until she tries to solve this mystery. Off she goes with her best friend, Bella, on a treasure hunt. Follow along as they try to solve the clues to finding the rest of the coins. Such a fun novella to read with the usual colorful characters and clues galore. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Short story where Harper and her friends try to solve a mysterious puzzle to save the town from a cursed treasure. Ocean's Eleven and Mission Impossible, meet Havenwood!
Definitely read this book after book 7... too many spoilers otherwise.
This was such a delightfully fun little adventure! I adore this world and these characters, and it's always fun reading short stories that show just a bit more of their magical lives.
Yet another fabulous magical mystery! I read this series as soon as the books are available ~ I can’t get enough. The characters are like friends and it’s so well written.
Not only is there a mystery to solve in this story, but we learn a bit more about what Harper's great-grandmother got up to in her day! It's a lot of fun, and I loved it as much as I've loved all of Harper's adventures! Check it out!
