Full: The Emptiness of Overeating: A Kinder, Calmer Path to Weight Loss

Rate this book
“Full is a wonderful, inspiring journey that goes deep to the source. A kinder path to replacing restriction, anxiety, and punishment with respect, curiosity, and compassion.” – Derek Sivers.

Eating isn’t about willpower.
It’s about how you think and feel, and that’s the part diets miss.
Food and weight loss are usually taught as calories, formulas, and plans. But while nutrition is a hard science, eating is a soft skill.

In the real world, you don’t eat from apps or trackers. You eat for comfort, pleasure, connection, and habit — with friends, in restaurants, and late at night, where stress, triggers, and body image all collide.
With insight and warmth, Dermody shares a compassionate and practical approach that blends modern psychology with lasting behaviour change. You’ll discover why overeating happens in the first place — and how to stop it — without punishing rules or guilt.

Through 21 short stories, he explores the emotional weight we carry — from stress to shame to self-sabotage — and how food becomes the outlet.
Whether your goal is weight loss or healing your relationship with food, FULL will guide you toward a kinder, calmer way forward so you can build a life that feels nourishing in every sense of the word.

Such a brilliant, kind and compassionate book. For those who are ready for change and to connect with themselves and move past rules. A must read!

A great read

Concise, straight to the point. I like Paul's way of thinking. I didn't have weight issues but I was curious about his approach to things. Would recommend.
