This was a cute romcom. It was pretty ridiculous, to be honest. I don’t mean that in a negative way. The plot was simple and absurd. A young woman comes back to town and the town is taking bets about her and her ex, the guy who’s always been hung up on her. They are betting on when they’ll kiss, when they’ll, ahem, hook up. They are watching them constantly, posting to social media, making them the faces of a campaign. Yeah, it was pretty over the top.
The main characters shrug it off, ignore it and sometimes encourage it. Maya and Tom are pretty much a given from the very beginning. They know it, the town knows it, the reader knows it. It’s a sweet and spicy bit of fluff with problems that are solved in paragraphs and no big surprises.
I must admit, my favorite part of the whole book was Percy, the incorrigible peacock. That bird was hilarious. He added a lot of comic relief.
All in all, this one was fun, silly, predictable and worth the read for the smile it put on my face. We all need a bit of absurdity in our lives, and it’s all the better when combined with spicy romance.

This is Book 1 of the June Springs series. And a wonderful start it is! Look forward to more from this world and.

The characters were very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.
