Drexel is the latest pulse-pounding thriller from Eric P. Bishop, International Selling Author of The BODY MAN Series.
_________________________________________________________________

During the height of the Cold War, two members of the United States Senate crafted an audacious plan. When the threat of mutually assured destruction provided no guarantee of safety, the senators feared the two global superpowers could find themselves in a nuclear war. They determined the only way to defend their way of life entailed the creation of The Zechariah Option.

After Building Seven fell in New York City on 9/11, secrets lost to time, which should have remained buried, emerged from their subterranean vault. Whispers transformed into reality as history collided with the future.

Ever since his youth, Troy Evans planned to follow in his father's footsteps and serve as an FBI special agent. A chance encounter and discovery of a mysterious document endangered not only the town of Drexel, Idaho, but the entire nation.

With events spiraling out of control, Troy must decide between the life he planned or the mission fate thrust upon him. One path leads to a future with the woman he loves, the other route leads to the vengeance he desires.

Heroes are not born; they are forged in fire.

In absence of widespread availability and use of Social Media to overshare with the world, President Muffley's scientific adviser in the War Room correctly stipulates in 1964 that the point of a doomsday machine is lost if it's kept a secret. Without DR. STRANGELOVE further probing why they didn't tell the world, such a secret and hidden doomsday machine is the ultimate goal of a rag-tag group of Middle Eastern miscreants looking to conjure an extinction event on the continental United States. The tangos are well-financed and very slick, though wholly unprepared for the grit and determination of a nation on the path of vengeance after 9/11. Led by future Omega Group boss and Operator extraordinaire Troy Evans, DREXEL is where America takes a stand and where legends are born. With annihilation on the table and killers on the way, all roads lead to DREXEL, come hell or high water.

Perhaps more important than the Idaho boy with a loving fam and a pet Bison who will become a future kicker of ass and protector of the nation, DREXEL is ultimately about, well, DREXEL. The birthplace of heroes like Troy Evans, it's somewhere on the outskirts of Boise National Forest, a small-potatoes community of about 3,500, about 45 mins north of Boise, and an ancient gold holdout to boot, it's surrounding mountains riddled by ore shafts and mines. Judging from the cover, however, in Idaho, the saying goes that there's nukes in them hills. Apparently, John Mason was wrong; it's not Fort Walton, Kansas that's of interest. It's DREXEL, Idaho. Delivering an opening that is HEAT and THIEF rolled into one, DREXEL ties into the cowardly terrorist attacks on 9/11 and the subsequent, perhaps unexplained or mysterious collapse/demolition of WTC 7, in whose secret basement or substructure the FBI's highly classified document repository held the secret to 'the Zachariah Option', something the baddies want in the worse way, allowing them to go biblical on the world. Believe it or not, the bad guys desire only to bring peace and justice to all mankind, namely by once and for all destroying the great Satan, as the United States was misguidedly labeled by the Ayatollah face-beard back in the 80s. The device lost to time will accomplish this and hasten the arrival of a new messiah, if the evil-doers uncouth CREED-quoting leader is to be believed. In a world without hope this would be a done deal, though in DREXEL, Troy "Mozambique Drill" Evans plants his feet as this is something he needs to pursue. Justice must be served, innocent lives protected and retribution delivered. Someone's gotta pay. Here and now.

In a story tangentially related to 1984's well-loved RED DAWN, DREXEL sends everyone, both good and bad, to pass before the Hand of God to find the passageway that can't be found but would lead to treasure, leaving impressions of both THE CELESTINE PROPHECY and Eddie Murphy's THE HAUNTED MANSION. Bestowed with a wild side-track travel-blog segment to NYC, the Waldorf Astoria, and a Central Park carriage ride that take up a big piece of the real estate pie, DREXEL offers a lot of action, chase and shoot-outs, though ultimately is a lot of fluff. Given the many nostalgic SEINFELD references and touted as an origin segment to the Omega Group Series, DREXEL, as many retroactively crafted stories of this kind tend to be, albeit info- and excitement dense, is virtually about nothing. In a narrative where too many characters have a photographic memory, pop-culture references and shoutouts to THE ROCK, SEINFELD, and LETHAL WEAPON among others are a joy that make DREXEL relatable. Asserting that you can never trust the devil inside all mankind, DREXEL does a good job touching on heavy subjects like mutually assured destruction, Islamic terrorism, 9/11, nuclear policy, and info silos for national security. Fitting neatly into the author's story universe, DREXEL is a unique and fascinating novel that delivers what it promises: a radioactive secret on the verge of tearing America apart, international intrigue, and good old American action. Head into the vortex of chaos--DREXEL is where it's at.

I have always liked it when an author goes back in time to tell something of the beginning about his charaters. Drexel the third (or first) book in the Omega group series created by the talented Eric P. Bishop does just that. Here we get to follow a young Troy Evans during his time in school coming to an end. But we get so much more, we get some great background and also introduction to a few characters that maybe will turn up in later books. I will continue reading these books to find out. The story in itself is told mainly in three timeperiods but a fourth one is mentioned and it all comes together in the small town of Drexel. We have all the ingrediants of a good plot. There is the young ones on the way to choose a career, we have some good guys and some really bad guys, we also have some that is hard to say if they are good or bad. I hope that you all have tried some of Bishops work if not it's about time you pick up something from him. He does tell solid stories and I can recommend them all. I must thank Eric for sending me an early copy of this book that you will find in stores on January 20th 2026.

Drexel is a Masterclass of Action, thrills a minute and pulse pounding suspense. The 3rd Book in the Omega Group Series bring us back to the Origin story of Troy Evans and boy what a start to his story it is. Bishop's prose, fast moving and precise plot and the characters, oh my goodness the characters stand up to any in the genre. How Eric Bishop is not a household name of every thriller reader is beyond me. Eric's writing in firing on all cylinders in this latest installment and he is only getting better with each book he publishes. The protagonist and antagonist are some of the best I have read in a while, and the attention to detail and background is second to none.
Make sure to pick this one up!!

I’ve been a fan of Eric Bishop for a while and have read all of his books. Enjoyed them very much. And his newest book, DREXEL, is not only a great addition to Bishop’s “Omega series” (Book 3), it is an excellent read! Solid writing, a great plot, and interesting characters (both protagonists and antagonists) make for a fast-paced thriller that was thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend DREXEL as a worthwhile addition to your reading list! And … looking forward to more of this series from Eric Bishop.

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of Drexel by Eric Bishop and he delivered big time!

Fans of the Omega Group series will be thrilled to finally get the backstory of Troy Evans. Those new to the series, this is the perfect book to jump into.

Taking place in the days and months after 9/11 we see the events that make troy the man he is today. What secrets was building 7 at the World trade Center holding and how does Drexel, Idaho fit into the picture?

This one is a page turner that you won't be able to put down!

In this Omega Group prequel, Bishop delivers a heart pounding story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. That you will find hard to put down. The development of the series characters is well done. The story links the Cold War era decisions to the current era of terroristic activities. Bishop does a wonderful job of weaving historical information with fictional action that makes Drexel a must read. Be sure to add Drexel to your 2026 TBR list.

Eric P. Bishop weaves a haunting tapestry of buried truths and unbreakable spirits in a literary thriller where the fire of the human soul burns brightest in the darkest hour. DREXEL is a profound study on loss, legacy, and the fragile line between hero and avenger. A must-read masterclass in suspense.

awesome story

This should have been book one. After reading this I went back and read the first two books. It made me appreciate and understand Troy and his team more. Yes the Omega team is not in this book but you can see how the team formed and influenced. Lots of questions that still need to be answered what happen to Troy’s girlfriend. She is briefly mentioned in book 2. Also, what happened to his mother who not only lost a husband but a son too. Also, what happen to his best friend! Lots of questions that talented writer Eric Bishop needs to answer. Great Prequel, brilliantly written
