Aurora is destined to race and dominate for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team. It’s not a matter of if, but when. Every critical moment, every push to work harder, and every second of her immense dedication has led to this instant. She will be a champion, and she will be damned if anyone gets in her way.
Unfortunately, a funding error forces Aurora to watch everything she’s worked for crumble before her eyes. With the racing fees due in just a few months, Aurora must shift her priorities if she wants to fix this mess. The pressure is on as she finds a crazy way to make up this money, while also ensuring no one finds out.
The absolute worst thing that could happen to Aurora Roberts is help from her friends.
In his many years of ski racing, he has been unanimously recognized as the team prankster, yet he couldn’t be more serious when it comes to her. With every crazy prank, outlandish party, and wild endeavour, Xander was determined to win the heart of the boldest girl he knew.
It seemed to be an impossible task, until a shared secret gives Xander an ideal opportunity to bulldoze his way into Aurora’s life. She needs help and he might just be the perfect man for the job.
Have his years of elaborate pranks prepared him for this exact moment, or will he make this situation worse than anyone could’ve ever imagined?
Ella is a Canadian author who loves reading, writing, playing beer league softball, and eating really fancy cheese!
For the past five years her dream has been to write a ski racer romance novel. Unfortunately, the sport she competed in her whole life isn't mentioned in any form of media, and that always bothered her as a girl. It wasn't until she started coaching young ski racers and they expressed similar concerns, that she decided to do something about it. Although it's not much, Ella is doing what she can to represent everyone that loves ski racing as much as her.
Alpine ski racing is a huge sport in Canada, and every athlete shows so much dedication towards it. This novel is for every racer who wants to see their sport being represented! :)
I liked the setting and the skiing. Rhodes and Roman are adorable. Xander is sweet, considerate and fun. Xander and Landon’s relationship was a hilarious example of “brotherly” perfection. I actually laughed out loud, which I never do while reading. I liked many aspects of this book.
However, Aurora! Girl. She was just hostile and rude and completely irrational for the entire book. I did not like her beyond her hilarious, frenzied baking situation at the beginning of the book. I realize that she had some issues from her childhood that she needed to work out (like seriously Aurora, get therapy), but she treated Xander like absolute trash and he was only ever nice to her. It made no sense. Not trusting easily is one thing, but being unnecessarily triggered by someone and being unkind to them for no reason is another. Watching Xander apologize for Aurora’s irrational bad moods when he did absolutely nothing wrong was rough. At one point she screams at him (after he makes a very sweet, heartfelt confession might I add) and tells him to leave and then the very next sentence she’s so annoyed that he… hasn’t contacted her. What? I actually went back and reread it because I thought I missed some pages or something… I’m just kind of tired of FMCs who are ragey, irrational, trauma filled jerks who berate the MMC the entire time and he’s just kind, patient and completely besotted. Do women actually think men like that kind of thing? It’s becoming to popular in books and it makes no sense.
tropes: childhood friends to lovers • athlete MCs • black cat x golden retriever • banter • he falls first and hard
fav quote: “Everyone has always given me a wide berth for the fear my thread will snap when I’m around them, but never Xander. He’s the one who shows up with scissors.”
I can’t believe I actually know the person who wrote this book! Don’t worry, that doesn’t change my rating!
Aurora and Xander are seriously SUCH a fun couple! I’m obsessed with their bickering and banter!I love that they have a friendship history that they spanning their entire lives that they can look back on and see they’ve really always liked the other.
Aurora is black cat without feeling like “too much”. And seriously, she’s the most Type B FMC I’ve ever read and they absolutely resonated with me 😂
Xander. Oof, Xander boy is DOWN BAD! You think you’ve met “boy obsessed” MMCs but you really haven’t! Let’s just say this boys entire semester revolved around this girl with almost no reciprocation 😂 And oh man, he is an emotionally aware and communication king! And we love to see it!
This book has 5 stars for so many reasons! Ella does a great job teaching you about skiing without drowning you. The community is cohesive and she does a great job calling back to Rhodes and Roman and giving you inside to other characters still! The relationship development and plot and plot points in general are sooo so organic! And most of all, it pulled all the emotions out of me! I laughed and was scorching hot with sick jealousy! Absolutely masterful!
Thank you so much Ella for letting me reach this in exchange for an honest review!
This book is about Aurora, she's absolutely destined to be on the team Canada ski team! She works hard, pushes herself to the limit and relys on no one. She grew up in a cold household, learning to rely soley on herself. But when she comes across a funding error due to switching her major in University she frantically tries to solve it herself.
Xander is her childhood friend and team mate and when he forces her to tell him what is going on he comes up with a wild idea with his brother.
While Aurora is stubborn AF and drove me bonkers at times (only because she feels like she needs to do everything herself all because of her parents), she really grew on me. I adored Xander all throughout, he is a golden retriever through and through and he never gives up on her!
I loved Aurora and Xanders story! While there is no spice there is plenty of romance and tension!
I loved this one even more than the first one! Xander was actually perfect… the way he never gave up on Aurora. He is the standard. I wasn’t expecting to love this one more than the first because in the first book the author showed Xander being a prankster and nothing more. He was so much more. He was kind and so patient with Aurora it made me so giddy.
Thank you so much for letting me ARC read this amazing book! 💗
yk what guys, i don’t even know what to write
if you want a fluffy, cozy, warm, cute wintery YA romance book, go start this one immediately!! 🥹
i’m not exactly to read romance book, everyone in my life could tell you that. but this series is so amazing i can’t get myself to stop 💕
Aurora, an amazing athlete, future team Canada is a really well built character. she has her problems and the way she’s dealing with them - though not ideal - is so her and so well described. romance books often lack layers in the characters - not here. i felt so sorry for her and at the same time i was lowk annoyed with her (sorry) but dang if i wasn’t kicking my feet at the end.
ALEXANDER HUXLEY OMG *santa baby, slip a huxley under the treeeee, for meeeeee* (doesn’t matter which one 😇) i love love love him. he’s goofy, funny and a little childish but he knows where to stop and become serious. and the DEDICATION OMG 🧎♀️ i don’t have anything more to say i love him
the whole book is set in a university in Canada and our main characters are members of ski racing team!! i found myself to be an absolute fan of skiing romance books 🥹🥹 which we probably can thank by dad for, since he put me in skis when i was probably around 3 🫶
the book is fast paced, funny, lots of stuff going on and the dialogues 😭😭💕 im a fan guys
its everything you can ask for from a romance book (the -0.5 star is for not giving me more of them together excuse me 😭)
love love love this book atp i will read everything that this girl ever publishes 💗💗
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Ski You Tomorrow, the second book in Ella McGivern’s Alpine Glow series (you might remember I gave book one, Ski You Later, a big, sparkly 5 snowflakes). Well, the sequel delivers again – warm, real, and just the kind of read I crave mid-season when the snow is falling and the kids are feral.
This time we follow Aurora – an anxious overachiever I saw way too much of myself in – as she navigates fresh starts, family tension, and one very lovely man. Xander is, frankly, a cinnamon roll. Almost too nice. But after years of morally-grey book boyfriends, it’s refreshing to meet someone who’s kind, clear, and knows exactly what (or who) he wants. The chemistry was sweet and slow-burning in the best way.
💭 Lingering thoughts: • The mysterious girl in the library? I need her to come back. Please let her be more than a one-scene wonder. • Rhys… oh Rhys. Surely he’s next? There’s a book three in there, right Ella?
If I had one tiny gripe, it’s this: I wanted more closure with Aurora’s mum. There were some truly awful things said, and I found myself waiting for Aurora to get her moment – the catharsis, the standing-up-for-herself scene. Maybe it’s coming?
Still, this was an absolute joy to read. Cosy, smart, full of heart. If you love character-driven romance with real emotion and enough Alpine sparkle to make you dream of chalet windows and hot chocolate, this one’s for you.
📚 Already counting down to the next. And might reread book one in the meantime.
If you want to giggle and blush this winter, then you need to pick up Ski You Tomorrow! This is the second book in the Alpine Glow series, and I am so proud of Ella. I can tell she has advanced as a writer, and it really shows in this book. She knows how to write a quirky, funny and heartwarming romance. I especially love how she adds her personal expertise on skiing into this series; you can tell how genuine her knowledge on the sport is. I fell for the MMC, Xander in this book. He is so effortlessly funny, compassionate and sweet. I am totally a Xander girly!
Ski You Tomorrow is a childhood friends-to-lovers, grumpy-sunshine, closed door, sports romance. Aurora and Xander are on the ski team at the same college, training for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team. Aurora discovers she suddenly has lost her scholarship and feels at a loss. Xander needs to get an A in his marketing class when he's tasked with a fundraiser project. Xander has always had a soft spot for Aurora and decides to help her out, but can he overcome her icy personality towards him?
What to expect in Ski You Tomorrow: ~Sports Romance ~College Students ~Childhood Friends to Lovers ~Grumpy-Sunshine ~Closed Door ~Dual-POV
Ski You Tomorrow was the perfect continuation of the Alpine Glow series and I LOVED the story between Xander and Aurora!
This story line was honestly one of the most unique ones I have read. And it was so well written it played in my head like a movie. I also really enjoyed seeing Rhodes and Roman from book one being a large part of this story as well. I loved them in Ski You Later and I loved seeing more of them in this book! Now to our main couple…🥰 One I adore a goofy MMC so an entire book about Xander was practically written for me. But oh my lord I didn’t expect to fall this hard for the man!! The balance between Aurora’s need to do things herself and Xander’s want to help her was done so well. Does Xander push to help her? Yes. But he does so in a way that respects her need to not be seen as a charity case and along the way grows increasingly protective of her. And the way he encourages her to never shrink herself for anyone?? Just ugh!! This man made me melt! There was so many great scenes between these two! The lift, the woods, the truck, the ballroom, hockey game and every single one was a chefs kiss! Even though the book was wrapped up beautifully I found myself craving more of these two. I am hoping to see more of them in book 3!!😍
4.5 ⭐️ rounded up! I ate this book up! Literally soooo cute and the back and forth banter was PHENOMENAL. I love a slow burn and from page 10, I was rooting them on and BEGGING for that first kiss or admission of love, but it was so worth the wait! I actually haven’t read book 1, hopped right into this one and it was written so well and seamless that I didn’t have any trouble figuring out dynamics, characters, and such! Xander was such a fun, strong, and emotional (but grumbly at times) man and I love that he never backed down, but was also so emotionally aware. Aurora sometimes drove me nuts bc her internal conflict was ROUGH (and hit home lol), but she was so realistic and it was very satisfying to see her character growth and I understood her so deeply plus she is so determined and strong. The side characters were incredibly fun and well fleshed out without being too much! Rhodes is a great best friend and the girls relationship was just heart warming! Also the plot being a mix of Auroras fears and racing, the banquet, and the romance was perfect and super balanced! 10/10 read and I cannot wait to read the first one lol!
This was so much fun to read, i absolutely loved these two just as much as i expected I would! I was so excited to receive this one and it did not disappoint, I find it funny how I barely even notice when I read my brother’s name as mmc’s anymore. I love how mature Xander was and how he was able to see past his own feelings and think about how Auroras emotions were having effects on her actions. It felt so good to see those little glimpses of Roman and Rhodes again. And I am so happy that this was dual POV, seeing both perspectives always makes a reading experience so much more elevated, also I kinda really hate Auroras mum like what the hell, that woman is such a rat. Anyways I 100% loved this and need more with these characters, I’m sensing another Grumpy Sunshine with Rhys this time (pretty please). So happy to be able to receive this eARC and absolutely recommend you all to read the Alpine Glow series! 🩷🩷🎿
Wow wow wow! I couldn’t love the way Ella writes more!!! Xander was absolute perfection, I adored his chapters and how I really felt like I could feel his feelings and laugh right alongside him. Aurora was beautifully written and her feelings, emotions and how she handles things is something a lot of people can relate to.
Their banter!!! Omg it was so good lol and we got blessed with an angry love confession?! NEED I SAY MORE?????!!!
So thankful I got to be an arc reader for this book! I loved every second of it 🫶🏽
Well fuck me five stars!! This was a slow burn friends to lovers romance! You have a down bad mischievous golden retriever MMC and a grumpy black cat FMC. It’s like watching two doe or deer learning how to walk. And it’s so freaking cute! And Xander is soo head over heels for his Princess. aurora is so relatable! I understood where she came from, her self doubt, insecure with her worth, like she had to earn love. It’s sooo heartbreaking and I just want to hug her!!! Also the Roman & Rhodes crumbssss my god yum!!! I ate this one up!
It’s a fun cozy winter read. The love story set in snowy ski town. Witty dialogues and playful banter. Loved the character Alexander. Fun side characters that add warmth without stealing the spotlight. Friendship and brotherhood relationships are also mentioned in the story which gave an extra dimension to the story. The female leads character were somehow related to the reality where she had to do everything by her own and not asking help from someone. The character development is also seen in the end.
I absolutely loved this book! The ski element made the story feel fresh and fun, and the setting was such a cozy element for the romance. The witty banter between Aurora and Xander was a highlight and added so much personality to their relationship. I’m a huge fan of the grumpy x sunshine trope, and this book delivered it perfectly. Xander was such a standout character; I loved how sweet, patient, and persistent he was with Aurora, especially when she struggled to let her guard down. Overall, this was a charming and heart-warming read that I really enjoyed. 💙
I got the absolute pleasure of getting to read the ARC of SYT and ahhhh I am so thrilled after finishing, I can happily say it was the perfect sequel to SYL!! The gender switch of grumpy x sunshine was the BEST thing I could have asked for! We need more sunshine book boyfriends and Xander was perfect! I love love the happy feeling I get reading these books and I was quite literally laughing out loud so many times. I was actually sad finishing it and will miss these lil sunshiney characters!
This was such a sweet book. Low spice but so much good tension! 🥵 The scene in the library after the club? So good. Every single time Xander put his hand on Auroras hip? Love it. Finding the only possible way to help her that she would “agree” to, was so good!
Oh Daniel’s, makes and appearances again. Maybe one day he will give up Rhodes….. lol
I enjoyed this more than the first one and was so happy to read it. Only issue I have? Now I have so much longer to wait for the next one….
I’ve never written a book review before so I’m abit of a novice at it but I loved Ella’s first book so much that when she was looking for ARC reader’s I was desperate to read Ski you tomorrow.
Absolutely loved reading it and really enjoyed the two person perspective, can’t wait to read more of Ella’s work in the future💛
I love where this series is going. Ski You Later is going to be one of my fav romances of the year so I was so excited to get into Ski You Tomorrow. I love the found family in this book. The atmosphere and the relationships are so cozy that I can’t help smiling while reading.
LOVE love LOVEDDD this! Aurora and Xander were so adorable and I absolutely love this cast of characters. As with the last book, the ski vibes were immaculate. This was also laugh out loud funny.
Tough cookie Aurora finds herself needing funding for her ski season and her lovable frenimie Xander knows just how to help! The two get into ridiculous shenanigans as they try to secure her future and only Xander can break through her icy exterior.
Quick facts: -1st person dual pov -fast/medium pacing
I would recommend this to someone who needs a book that feels like sunshine!
I really enjoyed this book, it made me feel good. This winter, Ski You Tomorrow will make you giggle, blush. The fact that this is a dual POV makes the reading experience so much richer. It's just what you need after you've finished a heavy novel and need something light, funny, heartwarming and comforting. And this book did not disappoint me. In addition, I didn't know anything about skiing, but Ms. Ella's ski expertise makes this series more genuine and believable, because putting a knowledge of sports into it is something you want your readers to feel as they read it, and that's awesome.
This book has my whole heart. I couldn’t set it down. Aurora is such a deep and complex character that I relate to on so many levels. Xander is also the most adorable person in the whole world and I’m obsessed with him! I loved every second of this book and I can’t wait for the next one !!
