The producers want Seth and me to have a showmance for the upcoming season of our smash-hit show, Keeping Up With The Veterinarians. What they don't know is we've been secretly hooking up for years.

We both hate being forced into the situation. Seth because he doesn't like relationships, not even fakes ones.

And me?

I don't want to go through with it because I've secretly fallen in love with him.

We both agreed to a friends-with-benefits situation and nothing more. There's no way we can change the terms of our arrangement…is there?

We are back on (and off) set with the veterinarians and their reality tv show, about to launch into its seventh season. In the background there is still tension between the two supervising producers and if you've read Book 1 you'll know a little more about that...

This time it's Gabriel and Seth's story. There were hints in the first book that the on-screen chemistry between these two was more than it seemed. Now we learn that is true. They've been hooking up behind the scenes almost since the start. But hooking up is all it's been. They're good friends too but with Gabriel having experienced a toxic relationship and Seth witnessing his parents having at least seven different marriages to different people neither are really interested in romance. At least that is what they tell themselves.

As the show gets going and supervising supervisor Riff encourages more on-screen chemistry alongside the requisite very-animal interactions the two battle with keeping what they have between them and they each battle with their own insecurities. By the time it all comes to a head the reader will be as nervous and anxious as they both are. But this is Gabriel and Seth was what I kept telling myself...

I love the fact that Casey Cox gives both characters a voice, alternating chapters between their points of view and managing not to overlap events, they both get their own Epilogue too which I think is adorable. This is Casey Cox doing what, in my opinion, he does best - short, over-the-top romances that should make you cringe but instead hook you in and keep you there!.

Gabriel and Seth are both actors. They play in the TV series Keeping Up With The Veterinarians. They will start shooting the seventh season!

While Gabriel has been in love with Seth for all these years, he respects the man’s boundaries. Seth doesn’t do relationships. So, like all the seasons before, it has to stay a friends-with-benefits situationship.

Seth has witnessed the worst example of relationships with his parents. Divorce after divorce after divorce.
He’s certain that when he speaks words like ‘I Love You’ the spell would be over and done.
Not taking any risk on that. He would lose Gabriel as his best friend. They’ll have to stay friends-with-benefits.

The producers of Keeping Up With The Veterinarians want Seth and Gabriel to have a showmance for the next season.
They don’t like it but have to go along with it. On and off the set Seth keeps wondering if maybe his future could be different than his parents'.

Oh boy, these guys were wonderful together, sexy, fun, respectful. I loved the way the author portrayed them. The writing was flawless and attractive. It was a fast-paced and short read.
All the respect when an author can write short stories that feel large, complete, and satisfying.

This is a short novella about Gabriel and Seth, another two veterinarians on the Keeping Up With The Veterinarians reality TV show. The producers have been trying to force Gabriel and Seth into on screen relationship for years and finally at the beginning of the seventh season, Riff, the absolute shitstain of executive producer finds a way to blackmail them into doing it. Except, unknowingly to everybody on the show, Gabriel and Seth have been fucking behind closed doors for years now.

Gabriel has been in love with Seth since forever, but Seth doesn't do relationship because he feels too damaged by his parents multiple divorces. There really wasn't much of anything to this story, the both guys are secretly in love with each other, and of course they eventually manage to confess their feelings to one another.

The reality TV show is even more of a background noise than in the first story and the other two stars of the show are not much more than an afterthought. Still, for some reason I found this story a tad more likable than the first one.

Themes: dual POV, reality TV, fuckbuddies, love declarations

This is another delightful addition to the Keeping up With the Veterinarians series, this time featuring Seth and Gabe, two more cast members on the show. At the end of last season, when Scooter and Cabot left the show, Riff pressed for an on-screen romance between Seth and Gabe. Little did Riff know that a real-life Friends With Benefits situation had been going on for the last 7 years. That relationship came with boundaries and no developing feelings (but how could it not), so both were apprehensive but finally agreed. Little did they know that what they feared would come to pass, all in a good way.
Great characters, great chemistry, more Speedos, a swimming pig, a sky-diving exhibition and a dog sanctuary in Poland all help bring screen fiction to a real life ending. Short and entertaining, a fun read to continue on the first story. It is hard to tell if the series will continue with the remaining couple of vets on the show. Guess we’ll need to wait and see.

"It's Giving Showmance" is a light-hearted, rather spicy m/m romance novella about Seth Moreno and Gabriel Hodecker, two handsome veterinarian-actors on the reality show "Keeping Up With the Veterinarians." They have a very secret, very steamy FWB relationship of which their sleazy producers are ironically unaware when they force Seth and Gabe into a fake showmance for the cameras. As is the way of such stories, Seth and Gabe are secretly in love with each other, carefully guarded feelings that are destabilized by acting out their new plotline. Neither Seth nor Gabe has any discernible flaws (either psychological or physical) and love conquers all without much effort, especially when the flimsy obstacles to an HEA exist only in their minds and are easily dispelled.

This is a cute, quick, sexy read.

With thanks to the author/publisher for access to a digital ARC on Booksprout. All opinions are very definitely my own.

I adore Gabriel and Seth
This is the second book in the series and this time it’s Gabrielle and Seth‘s story. These guys are both Vets who are on a reality TV show. They both been hooking up secretly but now it seems the producers want an on screen romance. They really don’t like being forced into this but once they get started, it really starts to bring out their true feelings. You see this was always just hook up they both been scarred by past incidents in their lives and didn’t want a relationship but would that continue??
I absolutely love this book. The passion they shared for one another The understanding and support they had.. It always amazes me how much information and feelings Casey can put in a short book. Another great read.

This is book 2 in the Keeping Up With The Veterinarians series. The reality show is going to start it's seventh season and the producers have decided that they need an on air romance. Seth and Gabe have been chosen. This is ironic as Seth and Gabe have been in a "friends with benefits" relationship for the past seven years. They are good friends but both have been soured on relationships. Hooking up is all that they will allow themselves to do. This is their story. I liked the chemistry between the two and how they already knew each other so well. It was more a matter of their own hearts and minds catching up to what already was. This is a quick read and I enjoyed it. The book is written well and is easy to read. This is a fun, low angst book. I look forward to more by this author.

This is a co-workers to more reality tv show romance novella, featuring Seth and Gabriel, and is book two in the Keeping Up With The Veterinarians series.

Seth and Gabriel are pressured by producers to fake a romance for their TV show, even though they’ve secretly been hooking up for years. While Seth resists anything beyond casual, Gabriel struggles with hidden feelings that could complicate their no-strings arrangement.

This was a fun, sweet little novella. I’m loving this series. There was tension and hidden feelings and two friends who were perfect for each other.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 2 in series
Novella
MM romance
Veterinarian reality tv show
Co-stars
Fake dating showmance
Secret FWB
Unrequited love x No strings
Forced proximity
Spicy times & not so dirty talk
Admit feelings
HEA

This series of novellas are fun, fast rom-coms that have a feel-good vibe going on. It's cute with a balance of sweet and spicy that's so easy to read. Gabriel and Seth are just so hot together, and their dynamic was the quirkiest cutest thing ever. The way Gabriel pines for Seth is adorable, but it definitely wasn't one-sided. They legit had me laughing out loud with some of these outrageous scenes.

Book 2 in Keeping up With the Veterinarians series can be read as a standalone, though the characters and plot are interconnected.

Tropes:
Friends with benefits
Friends to lovers
Spicy
Fake dating
Hurt/Comfort
Reality TV
Dual POV

Gabriel & Seth

Ross ain't got nothing on Seth's dad. 😆
I actually kind of like the fact that even though these are shorter stories, there are still enough chapters to really get a feel for the characters. So while there's a limited number of pages in the book, you still get enough POV to see how these two characters have come together. The quick chapters and the easy back and forth keep the story moving.
I appreciate the fact that both of the MCS are 'atypical' men in their relationship. One being a talker but not a dirty talker and the other being all silent during the peak... of things.

It's Giving Showmance was a fun read to continue exploring the interesting relationships between these reality-show veterinarians. A short and sweet story with a little bit of back and forth angst, but nothing crazy.

"'You make it sound like I'm a toddler learning to walk.'
'No. You're a fully grown man learning to love. That's so much harder.'"

Fun! Seth and Gabe are the Vets of the new show and they are a hit. They have a secret agreement of friends with benefits. Being the subject of the show, changes the dynamics of the agreement into more than they want. Navigating new parameters makes life more challenging and brings up new questions. Challenging and Fun. Great characters, I wish the story was longer. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

First, I'd read this series in order. Cox's gives you some hints, but without reading the series in order, you can miss how the characters got where they are. Not all his books are like this, so just a suggestion. He takes Gabe and Seth's relationship into areas neither of them expects, but that the characters secretly desire. Fun, easy read, and hot... which is expected from Cox. Yum!

Absolutely stunning. Very low angst, starts with the smuttiest scene imaginable and continues to give 10/10 smut throughout. Very short but seriously so good.

Thank you Booksprout for the ARC. This review is honest and voluntary.

It's Giving Showmance is the second book in the Keeping Up With the Veterinarians series and can be read as a standalone. This is a fwb-fake boyfriends-more low angst read about Gabriel and Seth. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next one.

Gabriel and Seth have been working together for years and secretly together during that time too. Now the producers have a bright idea of their own for an onscreen romance between the pair. A steamy quick read.

Gabe & Seth

Cute story about two guys that are together but just don’t know it. The show is showmancing them and they really don’t need to fake the chemistry.
