Wow! I was given this book by the author for an honest review. And I honestly LOVE LOVE LOVED it. It was cute, sexy, heart pounding, sad, emotional. It was a great story, with believable characters. Real life situation, and a true ending. The ONLY downside to this was it wasn't long enough. I didn't want it to end. I wanted more. Another slam dunk for Lisa Carlisle.

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“She was a woman in the twenty-first century with a degree. She didn’t need a damn man to mess with her head.”

“When she saw Antonio wearing a black suit, leaning over a guardrail looking out to the harbor, heated sensations fluttered through her, like fireflies lighting her up as they flew through her body.”

My Review:

A well-written, quick, entertaining, and satisfying read. Sometimes picking up a novella is just what I need to cleanse my brain between reading heavier or longer novels. This saucy little story hit the spot with interesting characters, some humor, some spice, and a thoughtful NA second chance love story about a returning vet with a few issues. Both of the main characters are likable and smart people, who have made some less than intelligent choices. I enjoyed the story, humor, and steam – oh yeah, did I mention the spice? Let’s mention it again just to be safe.

Enjoyable Read!
Great book by Lisa Carlisle. Antonio returns home from Afghanistan and is ready to start a new life. The problem is he is still in love with his ex Lina but he knows she will never talk to him again after he broke up with her. Antonio is at a local carnival when he sees a woman that offers to do a Tarot card reading on him. But he doesn’t believe anything she tells him. He receives a ticket to a club and decides to go since they were free. While at the club he sees Lina and brings up all the old feelings they have for each other. This book is around a 100 pages, and kept me reading until I was finished. I am looking forward to the next book by Lisa.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Antonio, a SEAL, returns from Afghanistan after his service is done.  He's ready to begin his new life, with one caveat. He's never stopped loving his one and only true love, Lina.  He broke up with her not wanting her to worry about him in the service.

At the local carnival, a tarot card reader reads his cards for him.  He doesn't believe her until he receives a ticket in the mail for a club just as she said he would. He goes to the club and finds Lina there.  Seeing her again brings up old memories for both of them. He vows then and there to make Lina his. But Lina hides a secret.  She's supposed to get married in a couple of weeks.  How can she want to spend time with Antonio when she's supposed to get married??

This is a super short book that was a highly enjoyable read! I liked Lina and Antonio together! The book kept my interest and I read it virtually straight through! I like Lisa Carlisle's writing style and I look forward to more from her to read!

Copy provided by the author in return for an honest review.

If you're looking for a quick, easy and thoroughly enjoyable read then this book is definitely for you. Add in the delights of an ex marine reconnecting with the love of his life then you will see why the story captured my attention. As soon as I see a synopsis about a book involving a military alpha I prick my each ears up and this certainly didn't disappoint.

Antonio Moretti has just returned from Afghanistan and having finished his time with the marines is looking to settle back into everyday life once again. Returning home to his parents house until he decides what next to do with his life he is taken to a fair and there he meets a tarot card reader who encourages him to seek out what he wants most in life, or rather who he wants most in life, Lina. Antonio broke Lina's heart though, finishing his relationship with her prior to being deployed but during that time not a minute has past when he has not thought about her.

One night away from you is too long, one thousand was pure agony. ~Antonio

After going to watch a band in a local nightclub, upon the recommendation of the tarot card reader, he is surprised to come face to face with Lina. It's not long before they are drawn together and their kiss reignites their feelings for one another. The only problem though is that Lina is engaged to be married in a couple of weeks, a point she omits to tell Antonio.

Trying to decide whether she is making the right decision to marry Brett, Lina is torn apart both by her feelings for Antonio and her guilt for her relationship with Brett.

The story continues with Lina and Antonio reconnecting with one another and deciding whether they can trust each other not to break their hearts once again.

This was a really enjoyable book. It was fast paced with not too much angst and the right balance of realism. I have not read anything by Lisa Carlisle before but I was pleasantly surprised. Her writing style is consuming and highly entertaining. She captured the feelings of her two main characters perfectly to make the story rewarding and heartwarming.

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

I love the way Lisa writes and though i do not have that sense of graditute over the marines and soldiers that people abroad have,(its something here in Greece we lack of), beta reading and hanging out with all the authors and fellow reviewers have made me grow fond of anything military related and come to realise why there is such big feelings and sense of graditute over those people that have been in that place.

What i love most in those kind of books is the struggle i get to see over how hard it is to return to what is so common for us reality that for those people is so difficutl.
PTSD is an often occurance and the struggle to pick up a life outside the army or marines.

In this book Antonio returns home to find himself trying to enjoy simple life but also trying to figure out what to do with his life now he is out.

What kept him company all those days and nights away was the memory of Lina and now he finds himself wondering what her life will be like after three years that they have been apart and if she is married and have kids.

Fate...or a fortune teller helps them meet up and the story begins.

Both characters have to fight ghosts from the past and the future and find out if their love is meant to be.

A really well written book by Lisa Carlisle with an emotional roller coaster that will make you want to hold on tight.
(and yes the sex scenes are hot hot hot)

If you are a follower of Lisa's then this is a book you should read.
If you haven't read anything of Lisa's yet then this is a book you must read!

Temptation Returns is the first novella in the Recalled to Love series, and we meet Antonio and Lina. This couple were together, but when Antonio joined the military he pushed Lina away as he didn't think it was right to keep her waiting for him. Lina eventually got over him and found someone new. Unfortunately, Brad was 'safe' and there were no real sparks or passion between them. A couple of weeks before the wedding, and Antonio is back in town and sees Lina in a nightclub. The passion between them is still there, but Lina is now engaged, so things have changed between them.

I have to say that, for me, it was Antonio who made this book. I can understand Lina being conflicted when Antonio returned, but I can't agree with her actions following that first kiss. Yes, Brad turned out to be a first-class jerk, but still... As for the story as a whole, it was fast-paced, angsty, and thoroughly enjoyable in many ways. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and the scenes flowed from one to the next. A quick coffee break book, recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

My Review: I read this book as part of the box set title Seduction. I am a sucker for military men in my romance novels. While I did enjoy Antonio and the development of his character, I wasn't much of a Lina fan. Their relationship is clearly a volatile and passionate one that takes steamy to a whole new level. It is a very quick read and while it wasn't my favorite in the box set it was still enjoyable.

I love the respect the author gives to the military right off the top. Antonio is ready to move on with his life, or so he thinks, having recently been discharged. On a whim or call it divine intervention, he runs into a gypsy at a carnival and she reads his cards. True to form our hero says" Ma'am, Im a Marine, we don't believe in tarot readings. But he allows her his time, and discovers he will get something in the mail :)Fate can't be denied, and she may even have plans for these two. Can they both work through their personal demons and finally give into temptation? You gotta read it to find out! Loved it.

This is a great short read that I loved! It's about an sexy strong Marine, Antonio, who is in love with Lena! But when he's called to duty he breaks up with her to try to give her a happy life so that she's not worrying about him. But when he comes home a few years later and sees her things haven't changed much! Can they jump back into a relationship, has she moved on or can he be the man she needs? A great read!

Antonio had broken up with Lina when he had enlisted into the Marines. On his discharge 4 years later he had still not got over her. Lina had tried to move on and was engaged to another man just weeks from her marriage when she sees Antonio again. When they meet up the chemistry is still as strong as ever. Antonio has to battle his issues of trust before they find their happily ever after.

Antonio broke up with his girlfriend when he enlisted. He said he wanted her to be free to move on to someone better. Now four years later he's back but she may no longer be available. This is a fast paced second chance romance.
