This novella is a short but heartwarming story, and the prequel to Ruthless Chicago Mafia Kings, which is a great series.
Romeo Andretti is a huge, tattooed, scary, former Marine, mafia hitman/bodyguard with a marshmallow heart for Sara Mancini, an inexperienced nail technician. I love how his character is portrayed to reveal his insecurities and vulnerability. He has been watching Sara for six months but doesn’t think he’s worthy of such a sweet woman. Sara has been fantasizing about him and is shocked when he finally approaches her and asks her for a date to get ice cream. These two have such swoon-worthy chemistry!
The writing was smooth and easy to follow, making it a great read. Once again, Vivy Skys gives her readers the very best in storytelling while incorporating beautifully written characters, hot and spicy scenes to keep the pages turning and leaving us all wanting more. This is a beautifully written story and hooked me from the start. It's sweet, it's sexy, it's heartwarming, it hits you in the feels. Romeo was the big, burly, tattooed bodyguard for mafia princess Gia Rossi. Sara was a nail technician, but she also went to school with Gia and Caterina DeLuca, another mafia princess, so she was aware of what their family business was about. Once Romeo and Sara finally start to talk and date, their relationship progresses quickly because it was love at first sight for both of them. Mafia Bodyguard’s Obsession was a beautiful love story about two insecure and lonely souls. My favorite scene was when Romeo let Sara paint his nails pink and his boss’s reaction. I am still giggling about that.
I liked that Sara was so completely accepting of Romeo and his “profession.” There was some off-page, implied violence, but that is to be expected with a mafia story. Overall, I enjoyed this explicit, dark, intense drama, and would recommend it for those readers interested in mafia romance stories.

Sara and Romeo
Well this was short and very sweet. If you’ve read the series, Romeo works for Elio Rossi as his sister Gia’s bodyguard. Sara is a nail tech he sees when Gia goes to the nail salon. This is such an ordinary meet cute between two random people, and it blossoms into something very solid and permanent. There’s really nothing more to the plot. They have sexual chemistry, they communicate, Romeo is like a big shy puppy who will do anything for Sara. And Sara is a strong and resilient woman who can handle anything being a mafia wife will throw at her. All these events happen before Elio’s first book in the series. It’s a great read.

This was so well written. The way these two came together was so cute. He was always looked down as he was so big and scary to many people they didn't take the time to really look at him and see what he was on the inside until he met this little slip of a girl who caught his attention and made him feel like he was the man made just for her. This made for a sweet story of how these two came together and I enjoyed every single moment of this story. This is a must read!!

Romeo finally works up the nerve to ask Sara on a date after watching her for months. His world is a dangerous one but she can't deny their attraction and how he makes her feel. If you love reading mafia romance books, then you should start reading this book right here by Vivy. It's the absolute best book ever and I don't want to give details away, but it is quite literally a must read 5-star book. I found this book to not only be entertaining to read but the romance is dynamite.
