I trusted three men to save me, but one of them betrayed me...
The Gabriel Mansion was my sanctuary, a safe haven from an obsessed cult leader, until suddenly it wasn’t.
I opened my heart to Makhi, Vonn, and Nash. I laughed again for the first time. They took care of me like no one else ever had before. Then one of them betrayed me.
Right when I needed them the most, I had a door slammed in my face. Now I’m on my own, back with the monster I was so desperate to escape.
With no hope of escaping this new cage, my life is over. No one cares. No one can save me.
Sorrow Byrd is the final book in a contemporary romance duet where the heroine doesn’t have to choose. Featuring a woman looking to escape her dark past and the three possessive men who save her.
This story deals with dark themes. See author notes. Read with care.
Had so much potential but the author really needs a better editor. She kept getting the names confused and calling the guys one name but meaning a different one. She said bydrie has blonde hair when she got on the bus with the old woman but that isn’t true she had dyed it brown by then. So many inconsistencies. This series had potential but it was a letdown overall.
Author kept saying one characters name when talking about another (Makhi was constantly changed to Nash) and it was very distracting. This book was a letdown because it had potential but didn't deliver. The bad guys just got 2 sentences about how those issues were resolved and that's it, there was no charter growth for byrdie other than she likes sex now and no plan for any of them to have real jobs or better themselves doing anything. This book did alot of telling and not showing and I do not care for books like that.
Sooo, this story isn't bad... but the errors are terrible. The author keeps mixing up the character's names. The one guy is called 2 different names on the same page, for crying out loud! Saying that, I still enjoyed the actual story. I wanted to know what happened to Byrdie and it didn't disappoint.
So firstly 4 stars because of the errors. On several occasions Mikhail and mash were muddled up so if go back to read a few sentences prior to make sense of it.
Other than that it was a really good duet. I would have loved a whole lot more comeuppance for a few of the bad ones.
I read both books in two days, I enjoy a FMC who grows in strength with the help of her men behind her however the second book became a bit annoying when the author kept mixing the names of the men up in quite a few chapters. Apart from that a good read
So the first book was so good, but this one is a letdown. I did not finish. It needs another round of editing. The author kept mixing up names, it got distracting and annoying. And i just couldn't finish it
This series was very moving. I appreciated the way the author moved through the story, and didn't skip over the hard topics. There are a couple name errors in book 2, but move past them. The story is worth it.
3.5 stars — the first book was way better and also better edited, this one had a lot of mix up with names of the characters, and at the end I couldn’t tell you the name of her daughter, is it’s Ana, Jules or Juliana. Overall it was good but could be better.
