Ninjas are awesome—stealthy, cunning experts of infiltration and close combat. But like us all, they must sometimes grapple with the small but significant problems of everyday life. For instance, ninjas have issues with squirrels. They also have trouble with chimneys, pigeons, blow darts, and mimes. They really like hiding, going undercover, and piñatas, but have MAJOR issues with samurai, giant fighting robots, and unicorns. Through it all, they secretly long for just one thing. Author of the breakout hit Zombies Hate Stuff , Greg Stones turns his popular, playfully absurd illustration style to the badass but surprisingly issue-fraught world of ninjas, detailing their inner lives and mortal combat with a subversive sense of the absurd.
I should say so! And sometimes those issues will come out (not the best thing to happen to a group that likes to stay hidden). If you are looking for a quick and fun read then this book is for you. I use to have several books like this in my office; read a couple of pages after the round of afternoon meetings that always sprung up when you were doing something else.
Passed by a shelf and one of this series caught my eye. I remembered reading another one of this series and thought it was cute. Found a few others so picked them all up.
Read this one and thought is was funny and cute and how it incorporated the other books into this one. Mr. Stones has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed this one. Who doesn't love a Ninja?
I still am trying to figure out how this can be in the Nonfiction section.....
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Yes it is almost as good as the zombies and gnomes books. I laughed a lot throughout the book. Zip line with the alligator... priceless! And there's more unread books from this author I have yet to read! Woo hoo!
Silly. Short. Cute. A little bit clever. A little bit imaginative. But no through story. And the art is fine. But not nearly as silly or cute or clever or imaginative as it would need to be to be better than meh. That said, individual pages of this would probably work as wall art.
