Seven years in prison. One rule to stay free. Don’t touch the boss’s son.
Connor I’m thirty-five, fresh out of prison, and walking a razor’s edge. Probation is Curfew. Routine inspections. No mistakes. The McGrath Ranch was supposed to be my quiet place to disappear. The owner is old-school, strict, and looking for a reason to cut me loose. Then Ryder shows up. He’s twenty-two, all sunshine grins and dangerous rebellion. He rides like he’s invincible and looks at me like he wants to be ruined. He calls me "Sir" with a smile that makes it hard to breathe. I know the risks. One slip, one accusation, and I’m back in a cell. But when we’re alone in the barn, keeping my hands to myself feels like a crime.
Ryder I live my life in a cage made of my father’s expectations. Brand the calves. Say grace. Be the perfect heir. Connor is the only thing on this ranch that feels real. He’s scarred, silent, and terrifyingly controlled. I want to provoke him. I want to see the man beneath the discipline. In the daylight, we ignore each other. In the dark, he ties me down and sets me free. He protects me. He owns me. But if my father finds out, I lose my home. And Connor loses his freedom.
Welcome to McGrath Ranch. Where the fences are high, the secrets are heavy, and the forbidden fruit tastes like freedom.

Atreus Rosewood is a gay romance author living in Michigan with his two boyfriends, two cats, a spoiled dog, and all the beaches he could ask for. He writes constantly to the detriment of all else and that's just the way he likes it. If you happen to find him wandering a beach and mumbling to himself, iced coffee is how you’ll lure him back to civilization.
Eh. Book 2 was just kinda blah. I loved the vision (Connor is being released from prison after 7 years and has to do 6 month parole working on a ranch where he falls for the bosses son) but the execution just didn’t happen for me. Conner and Ryders characters did a complete 360 like 1/4 of the way through the book. There wasn’t really any ease or thought that went into the complete personality transition. I didn’t vibe with their characters AT ALL. And I found the BDSM aspect to be quite boring. I did really love Pastor John being so accepting and kind when he found out about their relationship. And Larry, he was a great side character too!
The best part about this book was Cole, Jesse and Evelyn (from book 1). Which is why I’m give 3 ⭐️ Evelyn is such a badass. I adore every single thing about that beautiful woman. Cole and Jesse are just *chefs kiss*. Everyone needs a Cole, Jesse and Evelyn in their life.
I really loved Hell Creek Boys and I’m so sad that Wide Open Country was such a disappointment.
This is an opposites attract to more cowboy romance, featuring Ryder and Connor, and is book two in the Endless Sky Cowboys series.
After seven years in prison, Connor is determined to follow his strict probation rules and keep his head down at McGrath Ranch, until he finds himself drawn to Ryder, the ranch owner’s son, whose reckless charm threatens Connor’s hard-won freedom.
I am loving this series and I loved the journey Ryder and Connor go on. They are instantly attracted to each other obit don’t act on it because of Connor being on probation. With a hook up off the table, they build a beautiful connection that leads to deep feelings and they both fall hard. We get a cameo from the brothers in book one, and it has great found family vibes. Ryder’s dad is an a-hole.
Things to expect in this book are: Book 2 in series MM cowboy romance Small town Ex-con x boss’s son Ranch setting Age gap (35/22) Strict probation Grumpy x brat Opposites attract Spicy times & dirty talk Dom / sub Sir / Good boy Cock ring Restraints Praise kink Rope play / Shibari Outdoor s*x Semi public s*x Admit feelings Family drama Hard fought HEA
This author has quickly become one of my go too authors when I want something steamy, but also comforting.
I loved Ryder and Conners easy dynamic. I read book one in this series and I have been really awaiting this release and it did not disappoint.
🌶️🌶️🌶️ The spice was good and the dirty talk was great. I wish there had been a bit more rope play cause man he wrote it so hot!
I liked it. It was kind of low angst, but it still had enough plot that I was invested in more than just a steamy scenes.
He writes MM in such a good way that like it doesn’t feel like fetish content. But like true romance. I devoured it in one day after downloading. Now I’m sitting here eagerly awaiting the release of book 3.
I know, I know, three stars? it wasn't the plot or the writing, just I guess I was angry at tge father. It took the joy out of the story. I understand that kife doesn't go as planned, but Pete was so awful that I found myself cringing through a lot of the story. The romance was good though and the ending was sweet.
This is an enjoyable cowboy novel featuring an ex-con serving a six-month parole at a ranch while the owners son makes a play for his time and attention. An unstable, bigoted, vile father, with power over all the parolees in his ranch, makes life difficult. Supportive friends and family; passion, and forever love. I look forward to the next book in the series.
𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚: This is AI narrated. I would not have started if I had known. Kinda a shame a Indy author is using AI for narration.
I stopped at page 3 after finding out about the narration. Cannot support author when using AI to narrate. While I rated the first book as I finished it - I will not be rating this one as I Did Not Finish it.
The ranch life is full of ups and downs as love develops between the owners son and the parolee assigned there. Hate and discontent from the father toward his gay son and his lover. In this case love conquers all in their romance.
Couldn't put this one down. Just enough of a great book without too much smut! Love this new author. Read book one and two right away. Loved the characters. The dad was a hott mess!
I like Connor and Ryder. The plot was simple and sweet the spice was 4/5. I liie uncomplicated stories every now and then and this was certainly that. It can also be read as a standalone which I'm glad about although I wish I knew before I read book 1.
