VOWS AND ROWS by Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape is the sixteenth book in the "Amethyst's Wand Shop Mysteries" series. This series follows Amethyst, a witch, and Detective Ambrose as they solve crimes together and fall in love.

Amethyst's best friend, Stacey's wedding, is coming up fast. While trying on wedding dresses, they both both get a phone call—it has to be a murder. They soon realize they won't be able to take break from wedding talk. The victim? The Bride! Luckily, a place this fancy  should have tons of security. But somehow, none of the cameras caught anything helpful, and no one saw anything. Time for some old-school detective work. One problem - so many suspects.

Follow Amy and Ambrose as they embark on their latest case. Can they solve it before their friends’ wedding?

Readers will have a better experience reading the entire series in order. That said, each mystery can be read as a standalone.

I received this book from the authors and I'm leaving my voluntary review. I'm also excited for the next book: "Sisters and Blisters." This job wasn't going to be worth the money.

There’s been a murder at the wedding of a witch and a mage, no not the wedding you’re thinking off. Amy is happily performing bridesmaid duties for Stacy when both of them get called to a scene. It’s a murder at a wedding and this one hits very close to home as the victim a witch was marrying a mage just like Amy and Ambrose. This one is just tragic from the start. As new clues are uncovered it just becomes more so. You don’t usually feel a little sad for the perp but when they and their motives are uncovered it is just a bit pathetic which makes the whole thing ever more tragic. Luckily we end on a high note at Stacy and Gabriel’s wedding. I loved the cool traditions of the necromancer wedding. The flowers adorable! Can’t wait to see how Amy and Ambrose craft their wedding! I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wedding bells are in the air as Amethyst (aka Amy) helps her friend Stacey pick out a pink wedding dress, along with her sister, Topaz, and a few of Stacey’s other friends. During the festivities, both Amy and Stacey are called away to attend to another bride, although in much sadder circumstances - this one has been murdered. There are eerie similarities to both Stacey’s and Amy's impending nuptials, not the least that it's a witch/mage wedding like Amy and her partner in both work and romance, Knight Ambrose. It turns out that not everyone was happy with the murdered bride's marriage, but would any of the suspects have killed her to stop it? You'll have to read to find out, in this quick, paranormal mystery.

I love this series, and this was another great story. I always enjoy books that involve weddings, so this was a treat to read. As a member of their wedding party, Amy is assisting with Stacey and Gabriel's upcoming wedding when she and Ambrose become involved with a case dealing with a murdered bride. As they dig through the clues of who might have wanted the bride dead, they also deal with friends and family who are pressing them about the plans for their own wedding. I enjoyed reading this book, and definitely recommend it! I received an ARC copy, but the opinions expressed are solely my own.

That opening line of the blurb had me in stitches!
‘A dead bride isn't the best omen for a happy wedding.’
This fits in oh so well with Amethyst’s twisted sense of humor.

Fave convo:
Amy: “What do necromancers think about getting married in a dress someone has died in?"
Stacey grins. "It's considered good luck."

I’ve just GOT to go to the store tomorrow to visit the dairy section so I can try one of the foods mentioned by the author - ‘dates stuffed with bleu cheese’. Sounds perfect for wedding nosh (hint, hint Ames!).

More family shenanigans coming up in the continuation - ‘Sisters and Blisters’.

Vows and Rows is a cozy paranormal fantasy with a hint of romance and it’s continuation of Amethyst’s Wand shop mysteries. In this book, Amethyst and Ambrose are tasked with figuring out who killed a bride on her wedding day with a scalpel. There was a lot of world building and backstory, but figuring out who the murderer was actually wasn’t that difficult. However it was nice to learn more about the other secondary characters who will continue to play a role in future books in the series.
My thanks to Laura Greenwood for providing me with an advance copy for me to review.

No kiss at the altar!

It should be a happy day, and it would be if the bride wasn't lying in a pool of blood. Amethyst and Ambrose will not rest until the killer who turned the joy into mourning is behind bars!

This series has my favorite paranormal cozy character types. The magic is used in day-to-day settings that leaves you wondering if it’s all around you in real life. What fun! I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.

A good mystery with a murdered bride and suspects who all have alibis. Can Amy and Ambrose solve the puzzle? And, just as importantly, will Stacey and Gabriel’s wedding go without a hitch?
A great read, and I guessed the murderer before they were revealed. Loved the necromancer wedding, it was really beautiful. And Ambrose’s panic at what weird traditions his own wedding might have to include was laugh-out-loud funny! Loved it, and can’t wait for the next instalment.

Weddings and murder

If you're looking for love, wedding, murder and magic, this is the book!  It's always interesting to follow Ames and Knight while they solve a murder.  If you add weddings into the mix, even better!  This one was amazing!

I received this book as part of an ARC team and this is my honest review.

Vows and Rows is number sixteen in the Amethyst's Wand Shop Mysteries Series, and the opening line is killer. "A dead bride isn't a good omen for a happy wedding." I love the main character's sense of humor! It's very similar to my own. The mystery itself is also one that hits very close to home for her, a witch heir marrying a mage when she herself is about to do the same thing. Who killed the bride? You'll just have to read and see! It's a great mystery that's both thrilling and has some genuinely funny moments to keep things from getting too dark. I loved it!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Murdered on Her Wedding Day.
Amy and Knight get a case close to home when this witch bride is killed on her wedding day to her mage fiancé. I like how the problem solving came together and the culprit finally found. I did suspect the person but glad it was confirmed. This mystery is just one of many murders that Knight and Amy solve. Plus Stacie and Gabe marry! What a wonderful story.

Preparations for Stacey and Gabriel’s wedding are interrupted when the team is called in to a murder. Parallels are drawn when it’s revealed that the victim was the bride, and heir to the flower coven, and her groom is a mage whose family didn’t approve of the match. The bride and groom were also coworkers at the local hospital. Further investigation showed that the bride seemed to have a stalker and was a long term victim of cyber bullying that the police had previously dismissed. Can Amy and Ambrose wrap up the case in time to enjoy Stacey and Gabriel’s ceremony, and finalize plans for their own.

I really liked the parallels between the victim’s wedding and Amy & Ambrose’s situation. I also loved all the details about the different types of wedding traditions correlating to the supernatural type. I would recommend reading at least Stacey’s side story, Grave Mistake, before this book, as there are some cute callbacks to Stacey’s rules in her wedding vows. Reading all the previous books is best as you can see the growth of the characters and the depths of the relationships.

Murder and marriage
There’s a new standalone crime to solve and it’s very close to home for both Amy and Ambrose this time. This is another book in this series that’s hard to put down. It was also interesting to learn what happened at the necromancer wedding.

I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) of the ebook, and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

When shopping for a wedding dress is interrupted by the murder of a bride before her wedding, the case becomes especially poignant to Amy and Stacey. Well plotted and with great characters, this was an engaging read. Also, bonus points for the necromancer wedding.

An exciting new case in Vows snd Rows. There's nothing worse than murder on the day of a wedding, particularly when its the bride! But Amy and Ambrose solve the case, just in time for Stacey and Gabriel's wedding to go without a hitch

Amy and Ambrose are hunting a murderer but it hits a little too close to their own life. But watching it all play out as they prepare for Stacey's wedding made it fun. Lots of fun situations and drama.

A witch, a detective and a wedding with a bride’s death create a delicious little mystery. This engaging and fun book was a pleasure to read.
