Dolphin Cove, Western Australia. Jasmine Kennedy owns a pasture-raised chicken and egg farm; after a bitter divorce and her father being a con man and going to jail when she was a teenager, and Jazzy tries to fly under the radar. One night she lets her guard down, she flirts with a handsome stranger in the pub, and they talk about silly things, compare tattoos and kiss.
Ben Stewart’s parents are dairy farmers, he’s not fond of cows, getting up at the crack of dawn and the smell. He returns home after an accident left him with a prosthetic lower limb and foot and he’s trying to rebuild his life. Ben finds work as an egg sales man, he has to go around visiting businesses and he has a quota to reach every month and it's not for him. Ben’s a chippie by trade, he can no longer climb on roofs, as a teenage he and his brother did handyman jobs, he's considering doing this again and he has quite a few unfinished wooded projects in his parents shed and give up selling eggs.
Ben had fun that night with the mysterious Jazzie, he wants to find her and surly it won’t be too hard in a small country town? When Jasmine discovers the charmer from the pub is under-pricing her egg sales, she’s mad, decides to stay away from him and spends time hiding in odd places.
I really enjoy rural Australian romances, A Little Bit County (From the Outback to the Sea #1) by Jacinta Peachey is more than that and tucked between the pages of the story are things we should all consider.
Including where the eggs we eat come from and how the chickens are kept, the struggle small businesses face, they might have to diversify and if you can buy local produce.
People have accidents all the time, but you need to consider how a major one could change everything for a person, month’s rehabilitation, lose their independence and livelihood, feel differently about their body and think no one will find them attractive.
The narrative incorporated the older residents in Dolphin Cove, they made me laugh out loud, including Barb, Gwen and Patty and Jasmine’s first friend Nina from the bakery and how the community all helped each other.
Five stars from me, I highly recommend and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series A Little Taste of Home, I hope Jasmine and Ben are together and madly in love and I have pre-ordered a copy.

A Little Bit Country is the first book in Jacinta Peachey’s series From the Outback to the Sea. Jacinta is a new author for me and I found this book to be terrific. It is set in the small town of Dolphin Cove, in Western Australia. We meet Jasmine Kennedy, who has a chicken farm and sells her eggs to local businesses. She moved from the outback after escaping a terrible marriage. In addition, she has tried to get away from her father’s horrible reputation from embezzling money and serving prison time. Both gave her so much meanness from others in her old community. In the past, Jasmine shied away from finding friends because she had bad experiences because of her family and ex husband. In her new town she is allowing herself to become friends with Nina who manages the bakery.
As the book opens, Jasmine has woken up from spending the night with a guy she met at the hotel bar in town. The pair only talked and laughed and then crashed. Ben Stewart is working for Western Egg as an egg salesman. Neither of them know what the other’s job is and that they are competing for the same business. Jasmine sneaks out of the hotel to go home to gather eggs and then deliver to her clients. While dropping off eggs, she is told that her larger client has switched to a lower priced egg supplier and she has now lost the contract. She is very upset about this loss of income as she struggles to make ends meet. After a storm hits, Jasmine sees she needs to get her fence repaired. She is given the name of Stewie’s Services to hire as they are fairly priced and good. She is unaware that this is Ben’s side business. The two text about the job and she asks to wait to start. They continue to text and flirt, not knowing who either one is. Ben hates his job selling eggs and has found a new one working as the handyman for the retirement home.
Jasmine makes small cozies that she plans to sell at an Easter market. She meets a woman who lives in the retirement home and they set up a business where some of the other women who live there also help make the products to sell. Ben has also decided to make furniture pieces as another way to make money. When Jasmine learns that her competitor in egg sales was Ben, she was very upset. It is another surprise for her that he is also the guy who will be fixing her fence. The pair spend time together and she sees the charming man she met at the hotel bar. Both are resistant to starting a relationship because of past experiences. However, they both feel the chemistry and enjoy each other’s company. Their exchanges are sweet and romantic.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are genuine, loyal and fun. The interactions are entertaining to read. It is wonderful seeing Nina and Jasmine’s friendship grow. Many of the people at the retirement home are quite the characters. Their interactions with Jasmine are enjoyable. The descriptions about Australia and daily life are interesting to learn about. Jacinta has given us a well written book with a compelling and heartfelt story. I’ve given it 5 stars and am very happy to recommend it.

What a wonderful debut I loved this well written romance filed with wonderful characters a fabulous small town setting which is country and the sea, come along to Dolphin Cove and meet Jasmine and Ben.

It is not long before Jasmine discovers the man who made her smile and laugh is the reason she lost out on a contract for her eggs and she wants nothing to do with him but life has other plans and soon they are meeting up and he is booked to fix her fence after a storm.
Jasmine is soon pulled into the community a community that was not what she wanted but in the end it appears it is what she needs to grow her business and with the help of the ladies at the retirement village Jasmine is soon part of The Lacey Ladies but her past in moving closer as well.
And with Ben now working at the retirement village as well their paths are crossing more and more.
This is a story that made me laugh, smile and I was cheering Ben and Jasmin on, it is filled with emotion, fun and a beautiful romance fabulous characters, the Lacey Ladies are the best, I loved the setting and I send huge congrats to Jacinta Peachey for a brilliant debut and I look forward to another trip to Dolphin Cove.

Especially when a one night stand derails her sales, and she wants nothing to do with the man, but Ben Stewart is getting her all heated up...
Ben Stewart is in the rebuilding stage of his life after a tragic accident leaves him with prostatic parts of his leg. But he will not let it get him down and he decides to quit his egg sales job and go into business for himself, starting with his handyman business he had with his brother and his woodworking dream of furniture making. Little did he know when he had a wonderful night with a beautiful women, that she was Jazzy and that they were competing for the sales in the area. He wants to put that in the past and try again with her. But Jazzy does not trust anyone, especially men, and he has his work cut out for him.
This story was a little bit slow reading for me I could not get into the story, the first half of the book seemed to drag for me. Although the characters are well written and lots of quirky characters like The Lacy Ladies and The Shedders who gave us lots humour and witty moments.
The whole egg thing was not a subject as a profession in a story that has ever come up in books that I read and it was just not doing it for me.
But the next half of the book where more community in the story turned it around.
The chemistry between Jazzy and Ben kept the story going and the kind of cat and mouse of their relationship was not knowing who the other really was and the misunderstanding were amusing. Ben was smitten from the first and knew he has his work cut out for him when Jazzy discovers who she really has been texting with.
I give this book a solid 3.5 stars

This was a nice introduction to the town of Dolphin Cove. The small rural community is a nice combination of small town and beach community.
Jasmine is fairly new in town, having bought herself a chook farm (chicken farm for the non Aussi reader).
She's gradually building up sales of her Happy Hen eggs locally but steering clear of community involvement after a childhood full of rejection due to her con man father.
She's also not interested in relationships after narrowly escaping from her controlling rich boy husband. One night with a travelling salesman at the local pub isn't anything like commitment.
Ben is rebuilding his life after an accident left him with no career, no girlfriend and a prosthetic. Not the gain the sporting Ben was really ready for. His current job as a sales rep for a major egg distributor is destroying what is left of his soul. The only good thing that has happened was a hookup with the quirky Jazzie if only she hadn't run for it without leaving her number.
We are all set up for these two to be enemies after Ben sells his eggs to the pub, losing Jasmine a key customer. Only it's really hard to dislike Ben, who is trying his best and is quite a cutey.
With a little touch of You've Got Mail, as they connect on social media through Ben's business account, this story is very sweet and you are batting for them to overcome their issues and really take a chance on the future. We know that they are "MFEO", to borrow a Sleepless in Seattle reference. It's just a matter of time before they realise it too.

Life contrives to bring the two closer together, until Jasmine must decide if she's willing to take a chance on her new community and on Ben.

Then she loses her contract and meets the ladies at the retirement centre, where Barb, an amazing lady, helps her promote her egg cosies, which then becomes a whole new venture.
Jasmine has a secret and the more she sees Ben the more she tries to act normal, but it doesn't work! Her heart is trying to rule her head but her ex caused some damage to her trust.

A Little Bit Country is one of those heartwarming reads that keeps you turning pages and feeling all the feels. I love the author's humour and the unique setting where this story unfolds. It had me wishing I could take a day trip to the town and check it out for myself.
Jasmine and Ben are both lovable and relatable in different ways, while the side characters enrich this story further. I highly recommend A Little Bit Country for anyone who enjoys a story that begs to be picked back up every time you're forced to put the book down to resume life-ing.

Jasmine feels a connection with the guy she met and spent the night with but that ends when she discovers he works for a competitor and steals her business. But he’s not doing a job he loves and is more fulfilled doing his woodworking and handyman work. I loved Barb and the rest of the lacy ladies. Ben keeps trying to make it up to Jasmine but he has a secret of his own when he discovers she’s the potential client he’s been joking with. This was a kisses only with some innuendos romance.

A Little Bit Country by Jacinta Peachey is the first book in the From the Outback to the Sea Series. It has the Australian feel to it as you read which I just loved. Similar to the small-town where I live in Southern US but there are differences too. The story concerns two characters who are trying to work through their present time for a brighter future than their past has allowed so far. Ben Stewart and Jasmine Kennedy have circumstances that would cause some to simply give up. These two are fighters who work hard, make plans while staying independent. I was pulling for them to be successful and find the love they needed together.

A Little Bit Country is a fantastic start to a new series from Jacinta Peachey. I really enjoyed this book—the characters worked so well together and had great chemistry, which made their story feel natural and engaging.
The storyline was easy to follow, yet still kept me hooked from beginning to end. This is Jasmine and Ben’s story, and I found myself completely invested in their journey right from the start.
Overall, this was an enjoyable and engaging read, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

I love a good rural romance and this didn't disappoint.

Absolutely loved the setting of Dolphin Cove in Australia and thought having Jasmine and Ben who hooked up be competition for each other an absolute treat! Seeing these two falling for each other and waiting to see when they will work out what they do for jobs had me turning the page.
This was a wonderful read and great first book in the series and look forward to the next to see what else will happen in Dolphin Cove!.

Very endearing story of new love beginning and of a moving and caring community. The two people are both striving for viable businesses and clash at first. She has been wounded by a fraudster father and ignorant mother. He was hurt deeply when his long term relationship ended. Chemistry is present but stops keep showing up.

Jasmine and Ben get off on the right foot with a one night stand only for it come crashing down when she finds out he is her competition in the egg market. There are some cute fun hijinks with the senior center ladies and the fact that Jasmine and Ben are corresponding via computer not knowing that they know each other in the biblical way. Loved this entertaining romance with great characters.

This is a truly excellent debut. Ben and Jasmine's story had all the essential ingredients; undeniable chemistry, believable conflict, and all the delicious push and pull as they fought their feelings due to their heartbreaking backstories and the fear of getting hurt again. I loved seeing them all on the page together, and their interactions with the quirky but lovable Dolphin Cove community. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

This book starts off with an almost one night stand - no sex, but lots of steam and quickly gets derailed. Both of the main characters have too much baggage to work through before being ready for a relationship but what slowly ensues is a quirky, bittersweet friendship that grows and grows. Well worth the read !!!

An enjoyable entertaining read with heart, wonderful characters and a town that embraces all. Jasmine needed a fresh start and moved and moved to Dolphin Cove. She had a great night with Ben believing it was one time only. They kept crossing paths. As grew closer they both needed to let go of the past to get a future. Received a free copy.

Set in the fictional town, A Little Bit Country is everything a small town lover could want. It's delightfully Australian, features a gorgeous cast of characters you will fall in love with and introduces us to Dolphin Cove. An easy, breezy, banter-filled romance between Jasmine and Ben that will have you hooked from the first page. I can't wait to read more Jacinta Peachey stories.

Heartwarming and funny, I loved this book! Entrepreneurial endeavours, rebuilding your life, and being true to your convictions are all central themes interwoven with a saucy romance and small town setting.

I loved the romantic plot, very slow-burn, the characters and the fact real-life problems and fears are addressed in the story.
Ben is the quintessential Beta hero. The earnesteness, kindness, the fabulous curls, and the humor make him a perfect hero.
Jasmine is also a great heroine; she carries such burdens, yet is still a courageous, selfless person.
The way Ben and Jazzie begin their relationship is so original, I loved it.
The story is funny, hearfelt and a pleasure to read.

This is my first book by this author. I positively adored it. The characters were fun and a bit quirky. There were definitely some very heavy emotional moments. Great start to a new series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by booksprout.

I truly loved this debut romance by Jacinta Peachey. It was funny, unpredictable, had wonderful country side characters and the main characters were strong minded, flawed, and totally lovable. The perfect ingredients for a great story..
