What Happened in Room 310? Eddie London is a quick-witted and slightly-incompetent private eye—he’s also Lacey Matthews’ last hope. The young woman implores him to investigate her boyfriend’s fatal fall from a hotel balcony. While the authorities have ruled out foul play, Lacey refuses to believe them. As he pursues disparate leads, Eddie finds himself pulled ever deeper into Summerport’s deadly underworld. Horse tracks, illegal bookmakers, and big money boxing matches all await him, and that’s before he gets to the imposter police officers and all-too-real mafioso. The list of suspects grows to include the enigmatic head of a crime syndicate, an overly-invested reporter, and a recalcitrant Army colonel. Secrets abound, and it's up to Eddie to uncover the truth.

He fell from a balcony, but Lacey firmly belives that there is more to the story. Not long after starting his investigation, Eddie finds himself getting pulled into Summerports underworld.
I allready really liked the first book and I really liked this one to. It was just as engaging a well written. I really liked how Eddie tried to be a stereotypical detective. Pretty early on we get introduced to the journalist Lou, I really liked her and hope to see her again in other books. One of my favorite characters from the first book was Tony, I was really happy to see him again in this book. The case was really interresting and kept me guessing until the very end. The ending was surprising, but also logical. I really liked it.
I am allready looking forward to the next installment and I am really thankful for the ARC copy provided by the author.
Dompierre does it again, or should we say Eddie London? This second installment of the Eddie London mystery keeps us on the edge of our seat as Mr. London finds himself falling deeper into the criminal underbelly of Summerport. I was pleased to see my guy Tony make a reappearance from book 1, bringing his personal brand of charming tatterdemalion energy. I found myself actually worried for Eddie as he navigated this case. Will he find out what really happened to Johnny? You'll have to read to find out.
In his latest adventure, P.I. Eddie teams up with intrepid reporter Lou to help out yet another damsel in distress. After a bit of a slow start (which frankly made me want to shake some sense into Eddie), the story took some twists I didn’t see coming. I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery and am looking forward to (hopefully many) more adventures for Eddie and his friends.
I won this book from Library Things giveaway. I so enjoyed the writing style and how the author introduced and developed the characters. This was such a breathe of fresh air as not the typical PI story. Eddie London is quite the PI and am looking forward to reading more from this author. PI London is not your Columbo, but he has a way of figuring out even the toughest cases. Enjoy!
