Zig Ziglar was a motivational teacher and trainer who traveled the world over, delivering his messages of humor, hope, and encouragement. As a talented author and speaker, he had international appeal that transcended every color, culture, and career. Recognized by his peers as the quintessential motivational genius of our times, Zig Ziglar had a unique delivery style and powerful messages that earned him many honors. Today he is considered one of the most versatile authorities on the science of human potential. Ten of his twenty-eight books have been on bestseller lists, and his titles have been translated into more than thirty-eight languages and dialects. He was a committed family man, a dedicated patriot, and an active church member. Zig lived in Plano, Texas, with his wife, Jean.
This fell short of my expectations. It's a series of Ziglar's motivational speeches. I found them underwhelming; maybe I'm not the target audience. Topics include: Definition of success, self-image, how to teach responsibility, motivation, and optimism. I agree with Ziglar's stance on most issues.
Notes A person is more likely to succeed if you tell them you're confident and I'm doing a good job then if you tell them should be careful and not screw up.
You'll perform better if you are determined to win then if you're determined not to lose.
"You cannot consistently perform in a manner which is inconsistent with the way that you see yourself."
Change your perspective from "got to" to "get to." Take a positive view of your responsibilities.
Day before vacation Treat each day like the day before vacation, when you get more done: Plan the day. Be excited about doing it. Accept responsibility for being there and performing. Be disciplined to stay right with the task. Decisively move from one task to another.
This is not the Word of God of whom none other matches, just to be clear. I thought this series of talks I listened to was just amazing! Anyone who can hear what Mr. Ziglar is saying (and maybe some at the bottom or too proud won't) will be helped by this book. Mr. Ziglar, to my knowledge is one of the rare 'one of a kind' people that is really missed when gone. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. For your own good, please don't miss this!
Here is a link to a decent cover and description I could not find on GoodReads;
I gave up on this book. He lost me when he said giving 100% at a job you hate showed character and responsibility. I feel his perspective may be generationally irrelevant in today’s economy, value-systems, and mental health awareness. While he was a good speaker, funny with engaging stories; he did not resonate with me personally.
Zig Ziglar did not receive all his praise for nothing! It's honest, straight-forward talk, with lots of humor to help the medicine go down. :) Definitely get the audio book, if you can.
Zig encourages you to listen to his recordings over and over again - but I won't need much encouragement. Enjoyed the stories, the humor, the lessons and message. Recommend to anyone.
Man it’s a joy listening to this great speaker and one of the greats when it came to the self help industry — such a great storyteller and speaker — I matured a lot listening to him in my early adult life as I entered back in the day — this is a compilation of his work which if your familiar with might not be totally new — but wisdom that’s evergreen is always worth listening to over and over again — so sad he left us — RIP - but sure did leave a legacy which continues to serve people now such as this work which is around the topic of the title of this book — but there are others too — some of the info as it’s compilations actually is repeated in other titles but again like I said the best principles are always evergreen and worthy to re-listens as they apply to a whole modalities of life — this was no exception :)

The Great Zig Ziglar -- although I have a book print out of the audio. It seems to be a collection of talks and lessons. There is a lot of good and inspiration stuff in here from the master of changing your life through positive thinking and modifying your personal habits to meet your goals and overcome yourself.
"Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment," sums up Zig Ziglar’s Master Successful Personal Habits. Ziglar shows how consistent, repeated actions form the foundation of success, emphasizing that small, daily efforts lead to big achievements. It’s a motivational reminder to stay persistent and let good habits shape your future.
I listened to this book on Audible. I just love Zig Ziglar. As suggested in this book, I think I will listen to it again and again. His stories, laugh, insight and general love of life and people is inspiring in itself. The lessons and suggestions are almost a bonus. While I am no longer working in a sales environment, I think this book is more geared toward life than sales. 1 read down, 15 to go. :)
It's a good audio collection of his speeches. I don't know if I'd recommend the entire thing to someone to listen to. If you've heard one you've heard half of each of them. Some that I definitely want to share with my kids someday, though.
