Blurb Nicolas is a troubled teenager who storms into his school armed and driven by a single to unleash pain and terror. What follows is a frantic, blood-soaked descent into chaos, explosions, and distorted reality. Violence doesn’t rise from fiction — it breathes in the streets, hides in hallways, and haunts the ordinary lives of people living on the edge of collapse. In this story, violence smiles back… with a bleeding emoji. In a world where brutality is disguised behind fake smiles and empty speeches, one boy chooses to transform his suffering into a spectacle of horror. Caught between hallucinations, uncontrollable impulses, and a warped vision of the world around him, he walks a path with no return — each step echoing like a gunshot in the dark. Inspired by the chaos of modern society and the adrenaline of the most intense thrillers, this book doesn’t knock before entering your mind. It throws you headfirst into a spiral of madness, action, and razor-sharp reflections. Here, there are no heroes. No redemption. Only the anatomy of a horror spectacle. Take a deep breath. The fall begins now.
João Lucas is a writer of short stories and horror novels that address body horror, also known as body horror, and uses humor in his stories, with strong themes capable of disturbing and haunting the reader. He has no brakes, colliding with everything on the wall of imagination, making you feel every detail of the horror expressed in words. "Tormenta Sanguinária" (Bloody Storm) is his first independently published work. He currently lives in Goiânia, where he has lived and where he finds inspiration for some of his macabre stories.
This was a fun read! Joãs sent me a message about his book, and this is the first time someone has asked me to read their book (and I’m always looking for a new recommendation), so I obviously said yes. While I was reading it, I kept going back and forth from feeling like I was reading true crime to feeling like I was in someone’s head (think Mr. Robot).. I flew through this book, and I didn’t expect the twist at the end. I enjoyed the character development and the back and forth through time. Take the time and give this book a read!
Author’s Note ....... I’m excited to announce the release of my new psychological horror novel, Smile, You’re Going to Die! This book is one of the darkest and most intense stories I’ve ever written. It follows two teenagers who enter their school armed, triggering a brutal, chaotic, and deeply disturbing chain of events. Through their fractured perspectives, the story dives into fear, trauma, and the twisted unraveling of the human mind. My goal with this novel was to create a raw, uncomfortable, and immersive experience — the kind of horror that doesn’t rely on monsters, but on the terrifying reality of what people can become. It’s violent, emotional, and intentionally unsettling. If you enjoy psychological horror, moral descent, and stories that leave you thinking long after you finish, I’d love for you to check it out. Thank you to everyone who adds, reads, or reviews the book. Your support means everything.
