The Shattered Vow: A story of power, betrayal, and a vow that could break a kingdom.

Rate this book
A vow was meant to protect her kingdom. Instead, it destroyed it.

In a world divided by shadow and light, Tirien has spent her life hidden among mortals—haunted by memories that don’t belong to her and a magic she can’t explain. When a whisper from the old realm calls her home, she’s thrust into a fractured world of fae and forgotten oaths—one teetering on the edge of ruin.

In the heart of the fortress once ruled by her bloodline, Tirien must navigate political deceit, forbidden magic, and the ghosts of those she couldn’t save. The Hollowweave—the ancient force binding life and death—has awakened inside her, and its power doesn’t come without cost.

As war brews between realms, Tirien’s path crosses with Caelwen, a fae lord bound by his own secrets, and Eryndor, whose loyalty could either save or doom them all. Each carries scars, each hides a truth—and the fate of both worlds will depend on whether Tirien can mend what was broken… or shatter it beyond repair.

Full of haunting prose, slow-burn tension, and the ache of redemption, The Shattered Vow weaves a story of magic, trauma, and the courage to rebuild what darkness has destroyed.

One of the coolest things about reading this book is that I felt like I was really connected to the main character. Like if I was confused, it was because she was confused. We got information as she got it which made it feel to me more of an immersed experience. In many books, the audience gets the information that the main character cannot see so we have more perspective. In this, I love that I felt I was limited to what she knew and what she was finding out.

The journey Tirien takes is full of twists and turns, betrayal, found family, identity, a traumatic past and a foretold destiny. All of it is new to her as she is being pulled through her world by the Hollow, falling in and out of dreams and memories and navigating complicated relationships with people who all have an agenda. And she is the agenda.

All that to say, I am super excited for the sequel and to see what happens next. The book ends in a huge cliffhanger and I am going to be restless until the next one! I also hope we get a prequel because the book is set up to where that could possibly be a thing or the author may choose to tie up those questions in later books. Either way, I’m down.
