The balance of two cartels collide when an arranged marriage merge their empires together. But for Sierra Tate, the captivating and fierce daughter coerced into marrying the murderous Messiah King, their marriage feels more like a sentence to death.
Regardless of their lavish lifestyle, Keisha finds herself ensnared in Messiah possessive hold monitored, dominated, owned. Amid her suppressive life she rekindles a romance with Lyfe, who once captured her heart
As Messiah jealousy erupts into unimaginable violence, Keisha takes a daring leap for freedom . However, in the murky depths of Miami's underworld, buried truths resurface sooner than expected. Family bonds shatter, empires crumble, and blood saturates both lineages as Keisha finds herself torn. Certain truths refuse to stay hidden. Some promises are meant to be shattered. And some connections can only be severed through the shedding of blood.
The entire King family has such treachery about them besides Tywan. Tywan was more level headed, disciplined but truly business minded. That trait along with the ability to observe quietly and adjust may have saved his life. Sierra and Malcolm Tate moved meticulously and strategically and regained total control of the King empire. Revenge was served accordingly but not too much, just a little by violence. They used blood for blood and justice served in rituals undetected but oh so powerful. The two cartels now run under the Tate guidance with Tywan King proving a much better leader than both Jeffrey and Messiah. Messiah now lives at the will of the wife he once caged and enslaved with daily torture and only a shell of himself. He chose that path in deeds and now must live out that punishment on the decision of someone else. Definitely a real Mob book until it was time to end the reign of terror. Now, Marcus has made himself a new target.
Yall I was not ready for this book. When I say the author left no question unanswered and closed the chapters in the characters lives, he slammed the MF shut. Focusing on trades of power, loyalty and unexpected twist this turn out to be a great read. I don't agree with the cold, meticulous person he made Sierra in the end but Messiah was the catalyst for how all things turned out in this book.
Definitely a change from a usual arranged marriage. I enjoyed this series. The cultural implications and exactly how what you put out in life will come back.
