Biomechanical Basis of Movement, 4e is a rigorous approach to the study of biomechanics designed for the senior level undergraduate or first year graduate student. It focuses on the movement of muscle groups rather than individual muscles, which provides the student with a holistic understanding of human movement. New to this edition are a wide variety of applications, including applications designed to appeal to pre-physical therapy students.
I started reading this book in grad school and finally got around to finishing it. It is a great introduction to biomechanics and does a good job of bridging anatomical and kinesiology topics in too. The quizzes at the end of each chapter was helpful, as were the elaborations in some of the later chapters such as angular kinematic and golf swing.
