Hooked: Golden Meadow Polo Series Book 3

Rate this book
Valentino Moreno is the worst communicator in the polo world.

A descendant of polo royalty, he keeps his cards close to his chest and his spotlight on the field. Talking with anyone is a chore for him—that is, until he nearly runs over his boss’s daughter on a dark Wyoming road. One passing beneath the stars rattles his carefully built foundation. She’s a full eight years younger than him, yet he can’t seem to stay away.

Aurora Van der Hill is an oil princess destined for greatness in her family’s empire. Everything is planned out for her, leaving her dream of photography in the dust beneath her father’s polo ponies. Spending the summer in Golden Meadow, Wyoming, after graduating from college was supposed to be full of family time and law school prep, until she makes friends with the quiet polo player on her father’s team.

Stolen glances and secret night walks lead them to believe they might not have to follow in their family’s footsteps, and the quiet moments spent together make it impossible to just be friends. Becoming each other’s safe haven in the world of wealth and status is a wistful dream, but it might just cost them their legacies.

Hooked🐎
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Jolie Dunn for trusting me with this ARC!💜
Valentino Moreno is polo's royalty and a terrible communicator.Opening up is more like a chore and if you ask him, really not needed in his life, until she unlocks him.
Aurora Van der Hill, has her whole life planned. As an heir to an oil empire the last thing she should be is anxious about her future, but life is a tricky game.

What an amazing read this was!
I literally have never read anything about polo,so that part alone was an EXPERIENCE,yet,as expected, the whole story was magnificent. We follow the closest thing that can be called a nowadays royalty romance due to the nature of our characters' backgrounds. What I specifically liked,is that we did not saw them as spoiled or the mindsets of theirs being out of reality. You could see part of yourself in their fears and feelings, that from my point of view that aspect made them even more lovely to read about.

Aurora,is the classic young adult that does not know with its life, but in hers decisions are already made for her.We mostly saw her getting into her own feet, find the dynamic of her own self and shaping her personality. Yes,I did find her exceptionally cute and I have not ever read a book about a character who was nicknamed princess and that pet name suited them more!
Her aura was so calm and falling in love with Val really did something on her.Valentino on the other side,is the grumpiest ALIVE,however that man has a talent on his sport is discipline and he could not even believe himself that he was falling for a forbidden romance, but as I said life is the funniest, strangest thing, and for him EVERYTHING led him here,to his Aurora.
Their romance was just beautiful, like the ones that you are craving to read about. We have forbidden moments, deep love and the much wanted revelation, that we all wait in those kinds of books.

Twists happened, paths were found and love blossomed.✨

What would you put on the line if you found your person?

Hooked is the latest story from the Golden Meadows Polo Club and is one you will fall for.

Valentino is on a new team and trying to live his life in the shadow of his family name. Aurora is the daughter of a wealthy oil family who doesn’t have the heart to go against family expectations and risk disappointing her parents. Neither of them expected a summer at Golden Meadows could change everything.

You are going to love Valentino and Aurora. Valentino is quiet, broody, and would rather listen than speak. Aurora is outgoing, easy to talk to, and hides behind a protective shell to avoid being hurt. Together, they have a chemistry that can’t be ignored and a story that will grip your heart.

From their first meeting to the last page, the banter, tension, and heat will have you begging for more. Their story of keeping themselves guarded and trusting only very few people will have your heart going out the them. Watching them walk through learning to trust and dealing with others’ expectations will have you rooting for them to go for everything.

If you’ve read the rest of the series, your favorites are back to provide the found family feel that has been a major theme in this series. They bring support, laughter, and a push when needed, and you’ll love catching up with where they are.

Come back to Golden Meadows and watch as Valentino and Aurora get hooked in the best way.

I read this book as part of an interconnected standalone series, and you can absolutely read it if you haven’t read the other books in the serie!

I really liked Aurora and Valentino as characters. In many ways they are very similar, while in other ways they are complete opposites. I think this was portrayed beautifully throughout the book. From the very first moment, the tension is there!!!!! ❤️you can feel it during the entire story.

I also loved how their individual character growth was developed. They both clearly struggle with their own issues, but those topics are given enough attention and are not overshadowed by the romantic tension. They go through very similar situations, yet they each handle them in their own way. I actually think their personal growth adds so much to the growth they experience together.

I truly enjoyed the side characters and the found family trope!! 👀

I enjoyed this book soooo much. This was my first age-gap romance, and even though I’m normally not the biggest fan of the trope, I secretly really liked it hihihi. 😏😏😏

Thanks to LovenotesPR and Jolie Dunn for letting me read and review this ARC!

✨ARC Book Review✨

This book was such a cozy read!

I haven’t read many romance books about polo players, so this book felt unique in that regard. It was easy to pick up on the class differences between Aurora and Valentino. I liked how that was known but never seemed or matter to Aurora.

I felt like Aurora just wanted to be heard and seen for herself not just a member of her wealthy family. Once they got over the fear of acting on their feelings, I really liked how they supported each other and encouraged one another to do what made them happy.

The forbidden romance between the boss’s daughter was definitely a risky gamble. The sneaking around was fun, especially with the constant threat of getting caught hanging over their heads. 😅

Valentino and Aurora’s story...
Both were dealing with similar issues with their families and the expectations on them, so when Valentino comes to turn to create his own legacy, he’s got a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

They strike up an unusual friendship, yet it doesn’t take much for it to escalate to more.
I liked the similarities in their stories, yet the differences in how they dealt with it. At the same time, so many scenes just hurt - the heartbreak,a nd the lack of acceptance/care by her parents was horrible!

It moves relatively quickly, has a bit of drama throughout, tons of family angst, and a wonderful group of secondary characters.

Thanks Joie, for the advance copy. I enjoyed reading this.

First I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Jolie Dunn for trusting me with this ARC.💜

Okay but… a polo romance?? I did not expect to love this as much as I did. 😭✨

Valentino is super grumpy, closed off and fully focused on polo, while Aurora is sweet, calm and trying to figure out her own life instead of living the one planned for her. Together?? SO good.

Their chemistry was everything — forbidden romance, tension, soft moments and so much yearning. I loved seeing Valentino slowly fall for Aurora even when he tried so hard not to. 🥹

This book was emotional, addictive and honestly such a fun read.

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Jolie Dunn for the eARC of this book.
This was a sweet, fast read. I don’t know anything about polo so this was an interesting read for me. I enjoyed the setting detail and how Jolie described the colors and the view so I could see it in my mind. I loved Val and Auroras chemistry and the yearning from the beginning from Val was delish. Great story, and I loved the epilogue! I didn’t read the first two books but will for sure read them both and I’m excited to see where the series goes next.

I received this book as an ARC from the author

First Polo related romance, though not a complete novice in what Polo is like.
This book was phenomenal. Not first book in the series and now I've added to my TBR pile yet again because I have got to read the stories that came before. Didn't have issues following along by any means but I'm not ready to leave Golden Meadows yet!

I am enjoying the Meadow Polo series so much! In Hooked, Valentino and Aurora burn up the pages with their forbidden romance between the boss’s daughter and the polo player on her father’s team.

The way these two became each other safe haven was phenomenal. Valentino may not be the best communicator but with Aurora, he really opened up. Their time together was special and the bond that they formed was beautiful.

Hooked was such a fun and addictive read. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and how easy the writing style was to fall into. I loved how Val and Rory could understand each other so well, while supporting each other in achieving their respective dreams. Those dates which Val plans for were absolutely brilliant as well.

My favorite moments were definitely those quiet moments between them as they discussed their dreams, their favorite books and as they lingered in each other’s presence.
