Fuck love and friendships. After witnessing the ultimate betrayal, I had to get away. I fled quickly, packed what I could into a bag, picked up a few things on the way, and headed to my family’s cabin in the woods for Christmas. The fact that I almost hit someone on the way should have been the first red flag. The second? A note left on my counter in the middle of the night. The third? The mysterious man who saved me in the woods. Apparently, I like collecting red flags and ignoring them.
Luke
I have to say, almost being hit in the middle of the road isn’t what I had expected after disposing of the guy I just killed. I also didn’t expect the woman who almost flattened me to be so fucking beautiful, either. I followed her back to her cabin and watched from a distance until fate brought us together. Well, organized fate, but semantics, right?
Honestly I loved it though it could have been longer. I need more of Ella and Luke immediately! Perfect amount of plot and spice plus add in some Christmas. Can be read as a stand alone but does mention some other characters from another one of Kay Oss’s books. I’d still recommend and can’t wait to buy the physical copy once it’s released. 5⭐️ for sure!
Oh my, what a wonderful little treat right in time for the holidays 🤭
We have Ella who has been betrayed by her fiancé and best friend and is escaping to her family’s cabin when she finds a hot stranger who saves her from a pack of wolves. So what does Ella do? She proceeds to get her freakiest of freaks on with said hot stranger, and honestly, you go girl! I loved how self-aware she was that she wasn’t making a great decision, but it was like “eh, I’ve had a crap time lately, I might as well get something out of it”. I absolutely loved that she was aware but also threw caution to the wind because she needed to have a good night. Been there… 😉
And then we have Luke, our hot stranger. Luke is another case of a man doing a bad thing for ok reasons (aka, a serial unaliver with a tragic backstory and eyes only for the FMC who doesn’t hurt innocents). I loved how after I learned his backstory (no spoilers!), I was totally ok with him being a little on the obsessed/possessed side, as well as his profession; he definitely got a pass from me!
Lastly, never did I think a book coming in at just over 100 pages and containing a plot could pack so many different kinks in, but Kay did it! Wax play, breath play, being tied up with Christmas lights, that sweet degradation/praise combo I love, and HE PUSHES IT BACK IN, seriously it was a kinky Christmas delight!
Thank you to Kay Oss for the opportunity to read this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.
*ARC* Just leave me here for Christmas, no one bother me I’m happy.
This was soooo good, 🎄The flow -easy 🎄The characters - likeable and readable, their personalities were really well conveyed through subtle remarks and quips 🎄The subplots/character backgrounds- gave enough to want more on the back story in future but not so much it away from the main plot line. 🎄The smut - delightful couldn’t fault it I’m now searching for my spare Christmas lights 🎄
Just everything you could want from this type of novella, quick paced no fluffing no word filling and it took me less than three hours to read.
First off I love Kay Oss's writing style! It's easy to follow and you just get sucked right in!! Plus her FMCs are just bad ass, strong women and I love it!! Now on to this spicy good time of a novella! 5 star vibin entertainment!! I devoured this in 1 sitting! Loved how this connected with Don't Speak in more ways then who Luke works for. Both FMCs get their chance to exact their "revenge" and I love that!! Luke and Ella had me giggling and fanning myself! Being tied up with Christmas lights is now on my holiday bingo card!! I seriously hope you continue to write cause I will be chomping at the bit to devour it!!
I ate this up. It was definitely a cute story. I would have loved to had more. Hopefully in the future we can see these two again! Kay Oss knows how to draw you in from the beginning and make you feel as if you are part of the story! Highly recommend!
I ate this novella up!! Perfect for the holiday season, full of holiday cheer.
Ella plans to surprise her boyfriend and what she comes home to is something she least expects. She finds her best friend and boyfriend hooking up so he runs out of the house. She thinks it is the perfect opportunity to go to her family's cabin.
What she doesn't expect is to be on her way there and to almost run someone over that's in the middle of the road. She just wants to get into the Christmas spirit and decorate the cabin and get things off her mind.
Liam decides it is the perfect opportunity to make himself known so he decides to sneak into the cabin and leave a little note for her to wake up too.
I mean what more could you want. Meeting a hot and sexy man in the woods and hook up with him. To him figuring out who you are and him wanting to pay your ex a visit.
The spice was definitely spicing and I loved it. I mean who doesn't want to get tangled up in Christmas lights. 🔥❤️ Like can it be my turn now.
ARC Review ✨ First I would like to say a big thank you to Kay for letting me be apart of this ARC Team! Rate: 5/5⭐️ Spice: 2/5🌶️
What to expect when reading Wicked Winter Night ; -Revenge -Age Gap -Primal Play -Dark Holiday Romance
In this book you get to follow Ella and Luke. This Christmas novella was perfection! Dark, funny, spicy and you get a HEA. I mean what more could you ask for? I will say this so could of been as full length book because Ella and Luke were definitely an entertaining pair!
Fav Quote: •”I hope you’re ready for me”
Make sure you get your copy of the book when it releases Dec. 19th #bookstagram #romance #review
Dedication: ‘And to those of you who want someone to tie you up with pretty Christmas lights and take you to pound town. This is for you.’ 😮💨😏
This was a short fun read !😍 It’ll be available 12/19!
The FMC was fierce & knew what she wanted! I really loved the MMC and what he did for a living (iykyk) and he’s very creative with those Christmas lights 🎄😍😮💨
I love the insta lust, humor, MMC’s background 🥺 and the spice ! It’s a novella so it’s a fast read but it was perfectly executed!
As usual with my arc reviews, its a darker book so remember to check the trigger warnings. Okay let's get into it. Its honestly a quick read, I however had a bit of a problem with the pacing of it. I know its a shorter one so the pacing has to be quick but it went a little too fast for my liking and I couldn't really connect with the characters. I had a good time reading it though.
Thank you Kay for letting me read this arc🫶🏻 keep writing because I do wanna read more of your books even if this one didn't hit the right spot for me
This was my second ARC from Kay Oss, and once again—she did not disappoint.
For anyone wondering: yes, this can absolutely be read as a standalone. Characters from Don’t Speak are mentioned, but you won’t be lost if you haven’t read it… though honestly, you should, because that book is also incredible.
Now—Ex-squeeze me?!?! Liam and Kaci? What a pair of absolute trash goblins. The betrayal, the audacity… we love to hate them. Truly, you know you’re a special kind of awful when you make a morally grey MMC look like a saint. I audibly yelled “F** them!*” more than once.
Ella, our FMC? We love a queen who does. not. play. She doesn’t make excuses, refuses to let anyone ruin her Christmas, and she does not wallow. And when sketchy things start happening? She doesn’t romanticize it—she calls the cops. A woman with functional survival instincts? I salute her.
Even with police involvement and everyone fully aware of the MMC’s presence, the story still flows seamlessly, and everything ties up beautifully in the end. Yes, folks, we get that HEA.
We also get some spice—and it is delicious. It comes quickly due to the novella length, but it never feels rushed or unearned. There’s tension, conflict, and heat, all working together flawlessly.
Now, the MMC… whew. His backstory is heartbreaking, and I truly didn’t expect to get hit in the feels this hard with such a short story.
I also loved the Grinch-adjacent vibe woven into his character arc. The MMC has this emotional detachment—this inability to connect deeply with anyone, especially women—and while the book explains why, the transformation still feels magical in that subtle, Christmas-story way. It’s not on-the-nose Grinch energy (and maybe it wasn’t even intentional), but that’s how I interpreted it, and it made the story feel even more special.
Watching him form an emotional bond with the FMC—feeling things he hasn’t felt in a long time was genuinely beautiful. There’s a pivotal moment where he realizes he’s changing, or that she is changing him, and that quiet emotional shift made me audibly “ awww”
Overall, this is a fun, morbidly festive Christmas novella with everything I wanted: • Spice (so yummy). • Hilarious, sharp dialogue. • Righteous just desserts delivered in the most creative, seasonal way. • A strong FMC who never dips into self-pity. • Villains we can gleefully hate. • And an MMC with layers—dark, tragic layers—that make his journey feel earned.
Tropes: 🎄Cheating 🎄Age gap 🎄Stalking 🎄Bondage 🎄Primal Play 🎄Secluded cabin
When Ella walks in on her boyfriend, Liam, cheating on her (with her best friend) on Christmas(!!!), she flips and books it. She can’t face her family, what would they think?? So she goes to the one place she can be alone, where memories of this holiday have always been great, her family’s cabin. Little does she know, her alone time is about to be cut short.
Ella has it rough man. I felt so bad for her when she opened the door to that. And her best friend?! Seriously?! I didn’t blame her for running away as far and as fast as she could. She may have not seen this coming, but she is not meek and mild. She has a mouth on her and she’s willing to use it. I loved that no matter what she was calling it like she saw it and wasn’t letting these boys get away with anything.
Liam is a piece that’s all I have to say about him.
Luke’s backstory had my heart. His protective and fear nature was super hot. I really liked his new nonsense approach and how he cared so much.
If you’re looking for a short spicy Christmas read, this is for you.
There are times... so many times we deceive our minds and hearts in believing that our love is true and right. We go on blindly believing our relationships are perfect... but oh how wrong we can be...
For Ella this is very much the case when she finds her fiance in bed with her best friend. Her best friend of 15 years mind you. Near losing her mind and enraged by the betrayal Ella packs her bag and leaves for her family's cabin to just get away.
Unbeknownst to her a near run in with a stranger will change her life and lead her not only to the sort of man she wants and needs but also leads her to such sweet revenge. A revenge as brilliant as shiny gleaming ornaments on a tree...
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Luke has been watching Ella... but Luke isn't just a knight in shining armor... he is one sent to help the women that were betrayed... the women that were hurt... the women that had things taken away they never wished to lose..
He is Possessive over his Little Dove and no one better touch her but him. His.
He is a man of flaws but Ella realizes he is just what she needs... a man that sees her darkness and flaws and loves her all the same... and Luke will lead Ella to understand just what is promised after a Wicked Winter Night...
This was an amazing read and I am so grateful for the ARC from Kay Oss - If you enjoyed Don't Speak I highly recommend Wicked Winter Night as it is right in that same vein of theme with a holiday twist. Ella and Luke are characters that stick with the reader and make the reader want to know what happens next. I really have enjoyed this setting and group of characters that Kay Oss has introduced with Don't Speak and now Wicked Winter Night and hope to see more of this foursome and their revenge "hunts". If you enjoy a dark romance and a revenge plot then I would highly recommend any of Kay Oss recent works. Wicked Winter Night releases December 19th make sure to grab it when it releases or preorder it now. Happy Reading
After two weeks of not picking up a book, this little novella was absolutely perfect. I had originally read the author’s debut a few months back and absolutely loved her writing. I couldn’t wait to read another one from her. And she didn’t disappoint. The characters are so lovable—not you, Liam & Kaci (fxck you both), but Ella and Luke—perfection. Ella’s personality was a breath of fresh air. She had real emotions, real thoughts on what had been going on and her sassiness was even better. Determined, strong, stubborn and takes no shit type of attitude and we love her for it. Luke on the other hand—mysterious, protective, “you’re mine”, “touch her and you’ll be wearing Christmas ornaments “ type of vibe and honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve laughed so much with a character. He was an absolute delight. Couldn’t have asked for a better stalker/unaliver. The growth between the two—definitely gave me all the feels. Such a happy moment. Even though this novella was short (I truly wish it was so much longer though), it was absolutely amazing. •••••••••• I received this as an ARC from the author and although I didn’t get to read it in time before release, I’m still so thankful for the opportunity.

This Christmas novella is a captivating blend of darkness and romance! It beautifully captures the essence of the season with a snowy backdrop and introduces us to an intriguing, complex male lead and an exceptional female character. The writing is so compelling that I found myself completely engrossed!
The narrative opens with Ella, who experiences a heart-wrenching moment just days before Christmas. Driven by her emotions, she hastily packs a bag and makes her way to her family's secluded cabin. On her journey, she almost collides with a man standing in the road—Luke, our intense and charismatic male lead. Before Ella has a chance to approach him, he cleverly conceals himself, but upon seeing her, he is unable to let her slip away. He follows her, unbeknownst to her, to the cabin, adding an air of mystery.
This story is not just rich in atmosphere; it’s also filled with intriguing elements of spice, including kinks, themes of revenge, justice, and an exhilarating game of cat-and-mouse.
I’d like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to read this ARC copy.

What to expect when reading Wicked Winter Night: -Revenge -Age Gap -Primal Play -Dark Holiday Romance
I was hooked from the start just from the dedication page. That had me beyond sold because who wouldn't want to be tied up with pretty Christmas Lights!!!!
Dedication: ‘And to those of you who want someone to tie you up with pretty Christmas lights and take you to pound town. This is for you.
In this book you get to follow Ella and Luke. This Christmas novella was perfection! Dark, funny, spicy and you get a HEA. I mean what more could you ask for? I could not put this book down. I loved it and will be recommending it to anyone who will listen to me. Might have to corrupt a few people because it's that good and they need to read it. I loved Ella and Luke. I loved that Ella got her revenge from her ex who was a little more unhinged then she even knew.
Kay Oss hit it out of the park again with this insta-hot, extra spicy novella that would put any dark romance lover into the mood for the holidays. Some would think a shorter story wouldn't be much beyond fluff and banter, but Wicked Winter Night quite literally throws an entire suspenseful plot right at you full steam, bridges a connection to the world of Don't Speak, all while leaving you salivating for more.
A few days before Christmas, Ella came face first into the ultimate betrayal and quickly hightailed it out of town. Not wanting to wallow in pity, she does everything possible to enjoy herself, including mind blowing sex with a stranger, because seriously why not? And after reading this story I would love to find my own Luke. I love how it only took one crazy impulse to set everything in motion, not only for these characters to find one another but better themselves and their lives because of it. I am absolutely loving Kay Oss's work and truly can't wait to find out what she has in store next.
This was such a perfect dark little Christmas novella!! It had the snowy feeling, the unhinged MMC, THE perfect FMC for the MMC!! It was so well written I just ate it all up!
The story begins with Ella and the heartbreak she walks in on a few days before Christmas. It makes her pack a bag get in the car and drive alone to her family's old cabin in the middle of nowhere and almost run over a man standing in the middle of the road. Luke was the man in the middle of the road and our unhinged, insanely hot MMC! Before Ella got out of the car to check on him he had already hid himself and when he laid his eyes on her he just couldn't let her go. He follow her, without her knowing, to her family's cabin.
This book is SPICY and filled with kinks, revenge, justice, stalking and chasing!!
Thank you for gifting me this book to read. This is my honest opinion and my review🖤
Being in a secluded cabin for the winter…dare I say it? Yes, yes I dare…What could go wrong? 🫦
Ella, escapes to her family’s cabin for Christmas needing some time alone to reflect on her life. What she doesn’t expect is being chased by wolves (yes, real ones), she is saved by a man who to all intents and purposes is her ‘knight in shining armour’ except he has secrets. Not giving you anymore as it’s a quick read, with spice, Christmas lights and maybe a smidgen of deleting 🤭
I loved the fact these characters are actually over the age of 30, they’re both strong, Ella full of feistiness and Luke is dominant but given what he does for a living 😉 It was a quick dark Christmas read with all the attributes one would expect and shall we say some of us would love a bit of Luke at Christmas too 🎄
Dang this 108 pages really packed a punch. There was so much plot and storyline squeezed into this novella that I read it in about 2 hours I could put it down. This is dark and spicy and these two a tiny bit unhinged but kinda in the best way. He sees her and is instantly obsessed, he may cross a few lines but that’s why we love our morally grey men to be fictional men. She just got out of a long relationship where she found her fiancée all the way in someone else so she runs to her family cabin for Christmas and runs into Luke almost literally. Chaos and a bit of torture ensues and in the end they fall in love. Kay writes fantastic stories and characters and this holiday novella is no exception. I was provided this book as an ARC from the author and truly loved every minute of it. Stars:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Luke and Ella, you will fall in love with them instantaneously. The plot was on point, the way their story unfolded and the spice, was well spicy, steamy and hot.
Not to mention Luke is obsessed and is possessive of his girl Ella. Yet despite his tragic back story Ella sees him in a new light, and now she doesn’t have to be afraid of the unknown, because when it comes to him, there is nothing he wouldn’t risk to keep her safe from harm.
Hello kinks! Who knew Luke had it in him, my best guess would be that he was saving the best of himself for her because that sweet degradation and praise was a definite turn on for her.
Despite the shortness of the book, it was a very good read.
Highly recommended both the author and the book.
I received an ARC. Therefore I am submitting a voluntary review.
Oh what fun this Christmas novella was. Wicked winter night was a perfect title for this book and I had so much fun reading it. Ella is such a relatable character for some women out there and the way she handled her breakup was perfect. Luke was a great stalker with only the best intentions for his little dove. Kay did a fantastic job of incorporating fun little tie-ins at the end of the book. I'm here for the added jewelry our FMC got as a reminder of her exciting and well deserved Christmas presents.
Big thanks to Kay for sending this book my way, I devoured this in a couple hours and would love to see a full length novel about these 2 or a full crossover book with characters from Don't Speak.

Oh Merry Christmas to me! This book was sooo good. After catching her fiancé and best friend together, Ella runs off to her family’s cabin to be alone for the holidays. This should have been a quiet get away to heal and recover but it ended up being the exact opposite. She almost hits someone on her drive to the cabin. Chilling notes left in her cabin. A mysterious stranger rescues her in the woods… and lies about who he is. These events set off a chain reaction of fast paced, high heat encounters with our MMC. Wicked Winter Night was all I could ever want; serial unaliver MMC, stalking, secluded cabin/forced proximity, open door spice.. I’m a very happy camper!
Thank you to Kay for providing me with a copy of Wicked Winter Night! All opinions in this review are my own.
Wicked Winter Nights is a holiday novella that takes place at cabin in the woods. When Ella almost hits Luke with her car in the middle of the road while he's working a job, he didn't expect her to be the such a beautiful woman. His sights are set and he will have her. Ella's running from a life that led her to an ultimate betrayal and Luke is just what she needs. From a note, to saving her from wolves and taking justice together Ella and Luke have had quite the holiday season.
I really did enjoy this novella and it was a good short spicy read for the season! Watching Ella take her revenge with Luke by her side was such an emotional experience. And who doesn't love being tied up with Christmas lights??
🎄Somno 🎄Age Gap 🎄Revenge/Justice 🎄Cabin in the woods 🎄Bondage 🎄Stalker 🎄Primal
You meet Ella who just caught her fiancé cheating on her with her best friend! Which is WOW. She goes away to her childhood cabin and almost runs over someone in the middle of the road but lucky she doesn't. She goes inside and gets settled. The next day she wake up to a weird note.
The rest is history! I really enjoyed this a lot! Its a novella but there is so much dark romance goodness packed in! If you're looking for a quick read to boost your reading goal then this is it! You will eat it up quick!
This novella, despite its brevity, is quite impactful. It encompasses all the elements one might desire in a dark romance: intense passion, a former partner's infidelity, a persistent stalker, homicides, enchanting fairy lights, and festive Christmas baubles. It truly offers a comprehensive experience for the holiday season. I had the privilege of reading this book as an Advanced Reader Copy, which was a delightful experience, allowing me to enjoy it prior to its general release. While certain aspects were somewhat foreseeable, leading to a four-star rating, it was nonetheless a fantastic read.
Oh sweet goodness!!!!! This book was absolutely amazing!! Kay you are a creator of masterpieces!! Wicked Winter Night was soooo good. I feel so bad that Ella experienced the betrayal by her boyfriend and best friend of all people!! But Luke OH MY GOODNESS!! This man is a man of many wonders. I absolutely loved this man so much!!! Her revenge was so bitter sweet!! I was like FUCK YEA ELLA YOU GO GIRL!!!Kay you are amazing!! I hope to read again for you in the future!! Much love!! This book is dark romance so please read your trigger warnings before reading!! If you love a sick ass revenge story then happy reading pookies!! Out now!!!
KAY!!! You did it again! This is my 2nd ARC from her and LOVE her writing! I LOVED this Christmas novella (I know I'm so late with my review...life ugh)
Ella's escapes after the betrayal of her fiance and best friend just before Christmas. She heads to her family's cabin and almost hits a man on the way, Luke. Well, that when things get interesting. Strange things happen around the cabin. He followed her and Ella doesn't know!
This book is so spicy and delicious! I loved it! The dedication is one of my favorites! "And to those of you who want someone to tie you up with Christmas lights and take you to pound town. This is for you."
This novella was everything i secretly hope for in a stalker romance. a crazy mmc who knows what he wants wrapped in christmas lights and his obsession is dusted with....I'll go with, snow. Our mmc is a possessive, sexy, crazy pants, who watches a little too closely (in all the best ways). Kay Oss balances dark tension with holiday sparkle, making every chapter fly. The pacing is great and makes this a very easy fun read. Our FMC got dealt a bad hand but man does oUr MMC make her feel better. the suspense keeps you hooked, and the winter setting turns every encounter into something chilling....literally. If you love your holiday romances twisted, intense and festive, this one is your perfect christmas present
This was such a fun, cozy little Christmas novella. The characters were super easy to like and the story moved really quickly, which I appreciated, it gets into the plot right away and kept me hooked.
I really liked the slightly stalker-ish MMC and the badass vibe of the FMC. Their dynamic was great. Spice-wise it’s pretty mild (maybe a 2/5 🌶️🌶️), and the dark/gory elements weren’t toooooo intense either.
Oh and I’ll never look at ornaments the same again 😂
Overall a really enjoyable festive dark romance read!
