'Twas the Hour: A Christmas Time-Loop Novella

Rate this book
What if Christmas never dawned?

Lydia would be perfectly happy if Christmas never came. All she wants is to sleep in after a twelve-hour Christmas Eve shift and let the day pass her by. But when her head hits the pillow and the clock strikes midnight, Lydia suddenly finds herself back in the doorway of her apartment. It is 11:00 PM on Christmas Eve, and Lydia finds herself reliving the last hour before Christmas again…and again…and again.

What first seems like a dream quickly becomes a nightmare, and a nightmare becomes a curse, and a curse becomes a mystery to solve. But slowly, with the help of her roommate and the enigmatic old lady next door, Lydia begins to see the time loop as a gift. Even as the hours wear on and it seems as though morning will never come, Lydia might finally find the courage to face tomorrow.

'Twas the Hour isn't your typical Christmas story. With a sci-fi twist and a mysterious atmosphere that feels more like the Twilight Zone than a Hallmark movie, this isn't necessarily a happy story, but a hopeful one. In this season full of uncertainty, I invite you to bring your worries and step into the mist. For it is in the dark that the Light of Christmas shines the brightest.

Abby Wright is originally from Louisville, KY, but is happy to currently call Jackson, TN home. When she's not writing or scheming new book plots with her writer friends, she's likely off at her day job, attempting to control the chaos that is a class full of hyperactive preschoolers. She likes the combination of jobs, though - no one helps you brainstorm unhinged new story ideas quite like a four-year-old child.

She's been writing for the past twelve years, but she's never been magically sucked into a book, nor have any of her friends. At least, not that she knows of...

SPIRALBOUND is her debut novel.

Poignant story!

Such a sweet, poignant story! Gets to the heart of the stresses and disillusionment of the Christmas season, but brings it to such a gentle and uplifting conclusion! A must-read for anyone anxious about the upcoming holiday season, proving that hope can be a powerful antidote for weariness.
